Most mod users are happy with a mod that appeals to them, is relatively bug free and the author makes it CLEAR from the start, what the mod requirements are and whether they (in this case, you) will answer their queries.
If you do put a mod up on workshop it may be a good idea to do a short FAQ section because you will get a lot of repeatative questions from users who will not necessarily read other users queries already answered. You must also be prepared for users requesting changes to your mod because they want this, that, and the other part changed to their preference.
You also need to be prepared for some users to start complaining that your mod caused their game to CTD etc, etc. While this can be due entirely to some mod users not bothering to use LOOT or some other reason, it may also be that some part of your mod may conflict with another mod.
This post is IN NO WAY meant to put you off adding your mod to the Workshop, just letting you know what to expect. Don't forget there are some very experienced (not me) modders around who will be only too willing to help you if you get stuck or need help wth a patch, so don't be too hesitant to ask for help in either this forum or the General Discussion forum. Bit of a misnomer there as anything and everything eventually gets discussed.
Yes, you should have a good display of Screen Shots of the Mod and/or NPC.
I'll add - to the FAQ ( Frequently Asked Questions ) ... do you best to answer the most common questions:
What is this?
What is required?
DLC's Required?
If you used any specific 2nd Party Mods to make your character look a specific way ... make sure you supply a LINK to those mods ...as you WILL get, "My NPC does not look like yours! Why?"
Do a good beta testing of the mod with a few friends/volunteers with a different set ups and mods to insure a good sampling of the market this mod will be in. This will help you find out conflicts and such. Beta testing is under done in a lot of mods which adds to the error - complaint department.
Yes, it does take a few extra miles to insure as best as one can - that mod is 'good'.
