Publishing deal, we signed one
May 24, 2013 - Compulsion

Hey everyone!

Today's post is a really interesting one, although it's not directly about the game itself.

We have just signed a deal with Focus Home Interactive, to publish Contrast on Xbox 360, PSN and PC. We wanted to fill you in on our thinking behind the deal, so here is a post on our discussion forums talking about it.

Feel free to ask anything you'd like, although I'll reply later, because we've had a busy week and we're going to go have a celebratory beer now. <3

P.S. To our US amigos, have a great long weekend!

@Jayrex: current plan is Q4 2013. We need to know when the PS4 is coming out (and some other things) before we can get a firm date.

Thanks everyone :)

@DragonOfTime You're absolutely right about integrity. However, Ezkizel has a valid point, because we don't need the funding to release the Steam version. It's just a part of the deal for us - remember mes amis, pragmatism and compromise are the name of the game when creating a commercial relationship.

@MowdownJoe I don't think backwards compatibility will be a significant problem for us. Don't take that as a hint, or anything. Or maybe do. Who knows. This is deliberately designed to cause confusion and possibly hype.

@SaNkE Thanks for the support! We considered the early alpha access approach, but it's really better suited for games much earlier along in the development process (ie, well over a year ago, in our case), when feedback can be more meaningfully addressed.
