Pro Wrestling X
1 ноември - wishnowski
We've listened to your feedback and we agree, Pro Wrestling X was in dire need of an art upgrade and especially an animation upgrade. We want Pro Wrestling X to be the game Steam deserves and to do that it needed to step up its game.
So we spent the better part of this year investing our pennies into rebooting the entire art asset pipeline. Out with the old 2006 character models, in with sexy new art thats up to next gen standards. Especially exciting is the animation reboot. We're scrapping everything, properly rigging our characters, and producing all new animations that only extremely taltented and experienced animators can provide. Oh, and it helps if the new lead animator is an even bigger pro wrestling fan nerd than Pro Wrestling X producer and designer, Dave Wishnowski.
We'll be unveiling the new animations in the coming weeks. Until then, please feel free to follow this link and actually spin, zoom, and pan the new 3D character model in your browser. Cool stuff!
Thanks again for your continued support. You WILL be responsible for Greenlighting the first wrestling game on Steam! THANK YOU!

Initial sales of Pro Wrestling X: Uprising fund the project's future development
Thanks to financial support of the fans, development on the next big update to Uprising is under way
LETHBRIDGE, CANADA – May 14, 2013 – Even though 2012 ended only five short months ago, it feels like a lifetime has passed for the developers of Pro Wrestling X.
"The last few months of 2012 were absolutely insane," said Dave Wishnowski, Pro Wrestling X Producer. "We debuted on Steam Greenlight, attempted a Kickstarter, and released our very first wrestling game – all in the span of 120 days."
Available for sale at the Pro Wrestling X website since December, Uprising represented a major milestone for the project. When their Kickstarter didn't meet goal, the developers decided to release the not-quite-ready-for-prime-time game anyway, hoping to fund future development. Fan enthusiasm and financial support was immediate and overwhelming.
"We had nothing left to lose, so we just held our breath, trusted people would see the potential in our first game, and maybe give us enough financial support to keep us going," said Wishnowski. "We expected half of the response to be positive and half to be negative. To our great surprise, our apprehension was met with nearly universal positivity and support."
"We took a leap of faith, and trusted people wanted us to succeed. Our fans didn't let us down."
Enough funding has been raised from the initial sales of Uprising – and the other package upgrades available – that the next big update to the game is now in progress. This free update to Uprising will feature improved animations, smoother gameplay and a number of bug fixes. The programming is being rebuilt from the ground up, setting the stage for future development.
"This has easily been the hardest but most rewarding period of our lives," acknowledged Dave. "But it wouldn't have been fun if it was easy, and we've had enough fun to nearly kill us. Thanks to the fans, we're still standing, moving forward, and ready to write the next chapter of our story."
Uprising is a 3D wrestling game built for the PC platform. With a style of gameplay heavily-inspired by early Nintendo 64 classics such as WWF No Mercy and WCW/nWo Revenge, Uprising keeps a promise to deliver a much-beloved style of fun that gamers haven’t experienced in well over a decade.

Hi guys! We are attempting to break a record AND inviting you to submit an original character that will ship with our game. Check out the press release we issued today below. And if you happen to know Kotaku editor feel free to share a link ;)
Video game developer to include hundreds of fans in record attempt
Fans join indie developer in attempting to break record for most playable characters in a video game
LETHBRIDGE, CANADA – November 27, 2012 – The developers of Pro Wrestling X want to include their fans in their upcoming release – and in the process, they hope to break a record for most playable characters in a video game.
"Everyone wants to be in a video game," acknowledged producer Dave Wishnowski. "When we asked ourselves how we could best reward the fans who are backing Pro Wrestling X, the answer was clear: let's put them in the game."
Being developed for the PC platform, Pro Wrestling X is an active video game project on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter. Supporters can put their original character in the final release for as little as $50. If funding is successful, the game could ship with 800 playable characters or more. This would smash the record, believed to be Fire Pro Wrestling Returns with 327 playable characters.
"Fans will be able to use their roster spot to create a custom wrestler, put their own likeness in the game, or pay tribute to someone they admire," said Wishnowski. "We'll have a few rules about permissions and such, but we'll give them as much freedom as we can. We can't wait to see what our fans deliver."
The Pro Wrestling X funding campaign ends on Friday, December 7.
