Cardinal Quest II
October 13, 2014 - randomnine

Hello there!

Cardinal Quest II's development is now in its final stages. The game's out on, on iOS, on Android (via Google Play) and I'll soon be starting work on Steam integration as well as the new progression system for the game's release here as, probably, a non-free-to-play version.

CQ2 has now been in development for almost three years. It's been rough going at times and I'm pretty burnt out, so I'm taking a step back to try and change how I tackle this last stretch. I've put a more detailed post up on my dev blog[]. The gist of it is that I'm taking some extra time to get myself excited about the game again and really do the Steam version justice, stuff like cloud saves and better resolution options, instead of cutting corners.

The next update I make here will be once I'm well into work on the Steam version and have a firm release day for you. Until then :)

Hi everybody!

First off, sorry again for the massive delays on bringing this out. I really wanted to get the game out everywhere else and bring it to Steam when it could be really solid on day one. The iOS and Android versions have taken me way longer than I expected, and as a result, this has really got pushed back.

The good news is, the mobile versions are now pretty much done. CQ2 will be launching on Android very soon indeed! That means I can work on one last big push of content - adding the endless mode loads of people who've played the game so far have asked for - and then bring the game to Steam.

I'm currently estimating CQ2 will come out on Steam in late October. I'll post any big changes here as that date approaches.

Hi all! It's taken a bit longer than I expected but the game's now out on iOS, over here on the App Store[]!

I'm now working on the Android version, which should go much quicker. As soon as that's done I'll sort out the PC, Mac and Linux versions and bring it onto Steam. Bear with me, it'll be here in a few months :D

Thanks to all of your upvotes, CQ2's desktop version will be coming to Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux early next year.

yay :D

Hey all! randomnine here.

I'm sorry for going a bit quiet lately. I've been working hard on getting the game together across several platforms and keeping on top of promotion as well as accounts and development all at once has felt like a bit much, but that's indie development for you. I'll work on putting together regular updates from now on so you know what's up.

The bad news is - as you might have guessed - CQ2's full release is going to be some time from now. We're still working out the release schedule with Kongregate, which will likely be staggered by platform. I'll have more for you on that in a little while but it'll most likely be within the first few months of 2014.

The good news is, thanks to all of you, the game's now up to #29 on Greenlight! The game's moved up a long way in the past few months and it's looking like a pretty safe bet we'll be able to launch on Steam in the near future :D

Thank you again for your support and interest. More news soon.
