Get Even Developers Talk About Weapons and Shooting
June 30, 2014 - The Farm 51
Check out our new making of movie! The Farm 51 developers talk about weapons in the game and the research they have done to make shooting realistic in Get Even. The video showcases small bits of gameplay as well, you know;)
Get Even: Weapons and Shooting
The key idea of Get Even is to not create run'n'gun game, but to include shooting mechanics into some wider experience focused on a story, deep emotions and exploration. We got nothing against a tons of simple, explosive action, but with Get Even we don’t want to compete with other singleplayer shooters. Get Even is much closer to survival horror. Ammo and resources are limited not only to add another level of threat to gameplay atmosphere. It's equally important to keep with feeling of the reality, where you'd never have a 300 ammo rounds and carried 3 heavy weapons in your backpack.
But when it comes to shooting itself, we want to make sure it’s as realistic as possible and not too easy. Get Even is not a simple and cheerful game where you shoot dead dozens of opponents. We want to make each killing an event. Therefore, before you can shoot, you will have to put in some effort.
