Hey all you prospective and up-and-coming bards. As you may or may not know our iOS release has been quite successful, from being featured by apple, to receiving many glowing reviews. The majority of concerns and bugs have been addressed, end game content has been created to help ensure replayability and value. We are at a point where Shawn has focused on our Android version and I (Mike) am focusing on Steam exclusive content.
We know many of you have expressed concern that the Steam version of this game will just be a mobile port, while yes, there's no denying Bardbarian was initially designed to be a mobile game, we've been very transparent with that, we've also had many people say they'd prefer to play on a controller, on a bigger screen to see more of what's going on, as virtual joysticks are not people's favorites. We've learned Bard is potentially too complex for touch controls in general. This is a game meant for an actual joystick without your thumbs in the way.
We can ensure you special care is going into into our Steam version of this game, from controller support, to HD graphics and a bigger viewport to see more of the battle, a refined and updated ui with keyboard shortcuts for you MLG MACRO players out there. Not to mention some pretty exciting crossover content (new units) featuring some beloved indie game heroes. Not only that we are adjusting th difficulty curve and adjusting and balancing units to match the responsiveness of playing it on a computer instead of touch screen device. Lastly, and probably the most exciting to those resistant to play games that also exist on mobile; we are removing all IAP and having the gold pre-balanced and tested to ensure constant and achieveable upgrades.
We hope that these changes, upgrades and content are enough to keep you guys interested in what we have in store for the Bardbarian Steam launch. Should be before the end of March, stay tuned!
