Astral Terra
Astral Terra is Greenlit and a Dwarf arrives
January 8, 2014 - Tethys Interactive

Greetings Friends, gamers and fellow developers. Let us start this announcement by offering immeasurable legions of gratitude for all the support, votes and sharing that this community did to get this project Greenlit. There are many of us who just can't wait to play this game (the development team included) and it is a great privilige to be able to make something like this dream of ours and have the opportunity to put in in front of 65 million players. Gratitude to both the community and Valve for giving us a chance.

This week we finished up the the male dwarf color concept and model sheets. The female dwarf is in production now and we will be fleshing them out to be 3d playable avatars in the following weeks. Here is the final color concept for the male dwarf:

In the following weeks we will be finishing up the work on our new custom voxel building tools, fleshing out more of our biomes and doing a ton of polish and bug fixing. Expect to see new videos soon!

@Para - We are so glad when people give their feedback - suggestions on what people want to see in the game and hearing what players are passionate about is really important to us. Thanks again!

Preaching to the choir about neverwinter. I thank you for listening to me complain in any case did not mean kick up a stink, it's just so few fantasy themed games do not add reptiles as a player race.

@Para Bellum - I and a few others also like the idea of some kind of Dragon biped like race. I was a little disappointed when the new Neverwinter didn't feature the Dragonborn from the D&D 4.0 rules as a playable race. I'll add it to the list for us to consider. Thanks again for your input!

I like reptiles and it seems hard to make a fantasy themed game without some dragon race, just my opinion. Also apologies on the fey as I thought it was another elf race didn't notice to horns on them.
Tethys Interactive Jan 9, 2014 @ 2:08pm
The first race, the Fey, is a non-standard race that is a blend between Human and Satyr (kind of like a goat man if you don't know what a Satyr is). So Fey have horns, are a little hairier and have long pointy ears. After the dwarves we are going through Fantasy cannon to try and decide what would be another fun race to play. With that being said, we will be looking at some eccentric type of races, most likely beastly in nature. ;) We haven't put our fingers on it yet but there is certainly at least one more race on the way, besides humans. What would you like to see Para? We are genuinely interested in getting feedback in this area. Gratitude for the question!

Are there going to be any beast races like lizard men or just standard elves and dwarfs?
