Dead Sky
November 22, 2013 - Shorebound Studios

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that Dead Sky is now available on Steam:

Thanks again to everyone that supported us and helped us to get this far!

October 31, 2013 - Shorebound Studios

As you may have noticed, we were just Greenlit a couple days ago! We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who supported us and helped us to get here - we couldn't have done it without you!

While we're still hard at work polishing the game and getting ready for release, we thought we'd take a moment today (being Halloween and all) to share a little multiplayer video we put together featuring various upgrades in action as well as some new maps. Hope you enjoy!

I wanted to apologize for the lack of updates over the past few weeks. We've been working very hard and, if all continues to go well, it looks like we will hit our mark for an October/November release.

Now for the exciting part: we have been doing extensive play tests with the multiplayer portion of the game and wanted to share with you some observations, additions, and changes to the current build that weren't previously mentioned:

- We initially had some AI issues which were restricting us from having as many zombies as we'd have liked. We are happy to announce that we've now resolved this, making it possible for much larger hordes. Several play tests have confirmed that this makes for a much-improved experience. Note that this scales based on the number of players in the game - for example: 2 players will experience smaller hordes than what 4 players would at the same point in the game.

- We are adding more power ups. We were finding that when we saw a power up, we would rather it have been a better weapon. This is not what we intended. We wanted the finding of a power up to potentially be game-changing. The only good power up we previously had was the Berserker buff, which makes you invincible for a short period of time and anything you touch explodes. To give you some examples of what we now have in store, we are currently working on a couple new power ups which allow you to launch targeted artillery strikes and fire a minigun from a helicopter as air support. We feel the new set of power-ups will create a much more exciting, dynamic experience: one player will be able to change what was a losing battle into a victory in an instant.

- Teammates now respawn after dying if the team survives until the end of the round. Previously, if a player died, that was it. He could choose to spectate, but he would be out of that game for good. Now, if the team survives until the end of the round, all dead players will respawn with their structures intact. However, any player upgrades purchased will be lost on death.

- That brings us to our biggest new feature-in-progress: upgrades. In addition to simply building defenses, we are now adding the ability to purchase upgrades to your character which will give you better stats as well as new abilities. For instance, one which we've been discussing is an explosive shot gun kit which would cause all of your bullets to create mini-explosions on impact. Another one we're working on is a healing device which replaces your pistol. After purchasing, you can use this to target teammates and heal them. All in all, think of the upgrade system as a way of progressively customizing yourself to fill a role, similar to classes. We aren't going to discuss too much quite yet, but expect to hear more soon!

Anyhow, enough with all the text. Let's see some gameplay!

Hey everyone, a quick update here:

It's been a little while since our last post, but we just wanted to let you know that things are still moving right along with Dead Sky. We've been hard at work polishing the multiplayer gameplay out and adding cool new features, and we hope to have another video to show you very soon.

We also just wanted to say thank you. Thanks to all of you that have supported us, we're getting very close to having Dead Sky greenlit! However, exciting as it is, nothing is final yet...we still have a little ways to go. To help us make the final push, we ask for your continued support in helping us to get the word out. If you can get even one friend interested in voting for us it will make a world of difference.

That being said, thank you all so much again for your support, and check back soon for more updates!
