Our Day 2 Greenlight Appeal
July 18, 2013 - BotColony
We’re an Indie studio based in Montreal. We underestimated how hard it is to do what we set out to do, and showed early prototypes of Bot Colony in 2009 (GDC) and 2010 (E3). By that time, we had already been working for 8 years to get computers to understand when you talk to them – an incredibly hard and long journey. It was also a very costly journey. It took tons of (borrowed) money to get language understanding to work to the level it does now - which is not perfect – and it seriously delayed our game. We went in all the way, because we believed that putting you in the game world, able to communicate with the characters using your own words, is very immersive and can change gaming. That it is important, and worthwhile.
Now we need your help to get on Steam and bring Bot Colony to the world. It is a good cause. Besides entertaining players, Bot Colony helps people improve their verbal ability in English and their analytical skills. A UNESCO study correlates these improvements with improvements in the standard of living. So Bot Colony can help make life better for people in developing countries and elsewhere through education.
We need your votes to be able to get Bot Colony out to you, and to the people who need it. Thank you for up voting Bot Colony!
