I tried the demo. This game looks amazing but plays a bit clunky. The reason, i think, is there's simply too much animation. The player needs to stop and wait for animations. What makes retro 2D games so great is gameplay precision! There's too many animation frames for walking / attacking and even stopping to turn around. The controls need to feel tight and fast. The loose camera movement makes things even more floaty. I think it would be better to have the camera loose for boss battles only (since they are big bosses). The game is still great and I'd like to see it tighten up. Think 'simple': less animation per action = GREAT CONTROLS!

I wanted to enjoy the demo that you gave us the chance to check out, but the game feels far too clunky and stiff to enjoy right now. I look forward to an updated demo in which the controls and movement of the main character feel more fluent.

It looks like so much fun, it's interesting that it's based off of a forgotten classic.

Yes. On Steam. Can't wait. Best looking game 2D sidescroller I've seen. I wish this man and his heroine good luck and I WILL buy this game.

This game is great for a prototype. Expecially made with Game Maker. I like to make a games as a hobby myself and I love the design of this. One problem I have is that the players animation as well as the camera doesn't feel smoothed enough. I got pretty motion sick, the combat feels good and so does the level design!
