Tower of Guns
Tower of Guns: 96 hour pay-what-you-want IndieGameStand Special Sale!
November 16, 2013 - blankslatejoe

The holidays have early-Tower of Guns is now on IndieGameStand!

Tower of Guns is featured NOW as the 96 hour deal on IndieGameStand.com . It’s a pay-what-you-want offer, meaning you can get the game for super-cheap, but it also has a bunch of bonus stuff for those who “beat the average”. What bonuses, you might ask? Well, there's Brother Mike's soundtrack, for one. And Steam Keys (which don't exist yet, but now that I'm greenlit that's a much more sure thing to happen in the months to come). And wallpapers. And a really really silly e-book I wrote a few years back. AND, for the top ten contributors, for those who truly go above and beyond, I'm offering some of the ORIGINAL IN GAME ART used in Tower of Guns. Head on over to IndieGameStand[www.IndieGameStand.com] for more information. It should be fun!

Already a pre-orderer? First: thank you. You are awesome. Second, perhaps Tower of Guns would be a great gift for Grandma this Christmas! Pick up a copy for her! Or, at the very least, please plug the heck out of the sale on Saturday via your Facebook, Twitter, and the like. I'd really like to break IndieGameStand with traffic!

I think that’d be a good thing to do, right?

Thanks again everyone for supporting Tower of Guns!

That's a respectable stance too--keeping things curated. I never took their silence personally mind you--just figured I'd try again when I was finished. :-)

In all fairness, we have seen some problems arise with early access on Steam. Quite frequently I have found that the Steam community isn't always mature enough to buy a game during early access. Customers see a product in its alpha state, not quite grasping what alpha means, and they go on thinking "man this game sucks."

GOG is committed to curating quality content on their site, and it is understandable that they would want to avoid early access or wait until they know a game will be successful. They don't want any WarZ's or Garry's Incident's. (But your game is better than those.)

Yeah..I hoped it was because of the alpha state as well--they didn't outright reject ToG--they just never got back to me. If there's an employee over there who already likes the game then, well, that's really promising. Thanks guys! :-)

Please do keep trying with GOG, Tower of Guns would be a great fit and one of their employees was recently raving about TOG in a discussion thread. I voted for Tower of Guns on GOG's wishlist, good luck.

I'm an active member of the GOG community and I will vote for your game, because it is really good, well made and original. As for the rejection, probably is because of the current alpha state of the game? At least I know GOG usually rejects episodic games with episodes not released yet, and prefers final and complete games.

But I'll mention about that in the forums, maybe it'll help to get the attention this game deserves

True! Although the 'average' and 1 dollar aren't too far off for most IGS sales, this one included and it made for a shorter announcement. I think the ToG average is currently $1.58 or so. But yes, you are absolutely 100% correct: you will get Steam keys eventually so long as you pay a dollar or over for---and so long as Steam still allows me to generate keys 'en masse' when I finally push to Steam (I don't anticipate a change there, but with Valve it's anyone's guess). As for Desura, right now I don't have plans to push to Desura. I'd love to push to GoG, and submitted to them, but they haven't accepted the game. It's on the community wishlist though, so if you want to see ToG on GoG, then go toss it a vote: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/tower_of_guns

"What bonuses, you might ask? Well, there's... ...And Steam Keys..."

Just saying, on IGS you get a key (Steam, Desura, GOG) for any game you paid at least $1, not the "beat the average":

Congratulations on breaking IGS top 10 seller list!
I "had" to pick up a second copy through IGS seeing the bonuses you added there, got the first copy during the Not On Steam Sale. Looking forward to your Steam release of ToG! :)

I just found out about the game and bought a copy :3
Gotta say of all the games this type I like this one the best.
It just feels like quake but with random bits.
Love the secret areas too, miss that in games.
Hoping for an expansion pack later after release as this could only get better with more variation and complex map pieces.
