Graphic Upgrades - Dragon Valley
22. März 2013 - GalaxyTrail

Ladies and gentlemen, we've revamped enough of Dragon Valley's tileset to throw together a mockup for you. Check it out!

(If your browser resizes the image, click here[i46.tinypic.com] to view it on a different page.)

The parallax background has remained unchanged so far, but we would only really need to touch up the front-most layers. In any case, we are quite satisfied with the work of our pixel artists and we're grateful to all of our Kickstarter backers for making it possible to hire them.

It's going to be another month or two before our sprite artist is able to start working on redrawing the characters and enemies. After that's done, we'll focus on giving makeovers to Dragon Valley and Shang Mu Dojo and then release a vastly improved version of the demo to the public.

Looking great you guys! Popped out the contrast; there's much better depth now. Adds a lot of detail. I can't wait until this is done. For some reason, this is heads-and-tails more exciting than a lot of the faux-retro pixel platformers coming from indie developers these days. I guess it's because you guys are so focused on coming off like a Japanese Mega Drive action game - a Sonic, Sparkster, or Dynamite Headdy type thing - and absolutely nailing it. That's not something anyone else seems to be doing right now. This is going to be amazing!

Much nice graphics. Can´t wait to see how much the game will change until release. Too bad I have to wait. Good things comes to those who wait.

Looks good, just make sure when you do the charcters and enemies that they pop out a bit so they can actually be seen during gameplay and don't blend in to much with the background but I trust the guys you got to do an awesome job :)
