October 10 - Suba Games
Once again, I'm back to give you an inside look into ACE Online's upcoming 4.3 update. This time around, I'd like to talk about one of the more interesting and significant changes to the game!
New NGC Outpost War
The current outposts in the game are tried and true recurring battlezones for brigades to conquer, and have been with ACE Online for many years. To breathe some freshness back into the system, and give a new high-level outpost for players to conquer, Episode 4.3 brings the brand-new NGC Outpost!
Located deep in the heart of NGC territory, past the NGC Marine Lab, this outpost war takes place over two different maps and has both co-operative PvE and competitive PvP elements to it!
Taking Down Gomora
The NGC have set up a massive guardian of the new NGC Secret Base map, Gomora, which appears after the other outpost wars have concluded. Gomora is a huge, powerful enemy that will take a whole brigade - or more - to destroy.
Gomora is an unusual boss to fight. Unlike most, it's protected by a powerful energy shield that makes it all but invincible. The key to taking it down lies in destroying the NGC Controllers that keep its shields up and running. The NGC Controllers are protected by deadly NGC enemies, and will appear at set points around the NGC Secret Base map.
These NGC Controllers are pretty unique too. When destroyed, they will apply debuffs or buffs to the nearby players that destroyed them, leading to some unpredictable effects. Once destroyed, Gomora's shields will remain knocked out for a set amount of time, before being brought back online as a new Controller is created.
Once Gomora has been destroyed, the second phase of the outpost war begins. With Gomora gone, the doors to the NGC Military Shipyard - an interior map environment - are left open, and brigades are now free to war over the NGC Outpost itself. Here, more familiar rules take over, as brigades must capture the NGC Outpost by claiming its CPU as their own and taking down the Protector guarding it.
The outpost is actually a prototype mothership being constructed by the NGC, so it definitely has a unique look and theme to it! Plus, it gives easy access to the new NGC map chain introduced in Episode 4, something that many players will definitely appreciate!
That's it for now everybody. We'll keep you up to date with more new information on Episode 4.3 as the next few days go on and we get closer to release!

August 1 - Suba Games
We've got a new month, and with that new month, new leaders. Please welcome:
BCU Leader: LadyJaye
ANI Leader: IRI79
The brigade Invictus has volunteered to transfer from ANI to BCU, so everyone give them a warm welcome!
Unfortunately we're still waiting on a patch from Masang Soft, as there have been some delays in development. Our apologies for this, but we're working on it as fast as we can.
We've got something fun in store for you later this August... what's special about August, you ask? Our older fans might know the story... but for now we're keeping quiet about it!
Last, remember that our Chaos Goldie Madness Event is continuing all throughout today! Get in on the action at your local safe Chaos map for some sweet item drops!
That's all for now everyone, have a good one!
July 18 - Suba Games
We've got a new update online today. Notes are below:
- Improved behavior for detecting when game client is inactive, you should hopefully be kicked less often while the game is minimized (we're still working on getting this solved)
- Your skill bar selection should be saved more frequently now, to prevent loss of hotkeyed skills in case you are disconnected
- Players can now only give gifts at level 70 or above
- At the War Point Shop, your item selection will now be cleared upon making the purchase (prevents re-buying the same items accidentally)
- Numerous back-end improvements and fixes
We're aware that the balance situation right now between ANI and BCU could be better. For that reason, we're currently going to be restricting nation resets for players on ANI. Additionally, any ANI brigade that wants to move to BCU to help us get a more balanced server again, please have your leader send in a support ticket and we will consider transferring you to BCU. We know of at least one rivalry that's begging to be settled...
We've extended the Happy Hour... er, hours, into Friday night and Monday morning (specifically, 12 PM Friday to 12 PM Monday). We got a lot of requests from players in different time zones or those who have lots of game time on Friday nights, so hopefully this lets you get in a little more action.
Last, the bonus XP rates during normal gameplay also now apply to level 100 players, to help balance out those who have been reaching for 110 with those who are lower levels - getting to 110 is still a big accomplishment, but this lets players who want to use level 100+ items have a better shot at it. Because many weapons at these levels have stats that better counter the defense/evasion prefixes and suffixes, this should help improve game balance.
Have a good one everybody!
June 20 - Suba Games
This week, we've had something of an upheaval as several sub-leaders have been removed on leader request by both ANI and BCU leaders. Who's going to fill their places? Only time will tell...
We've made some changes this week to ACE's server configuration. In addition to some behind-the-scenes "spring cleaning" we've also done some things that you'll notice in-game:
- Increased level range on normal XP bonus to level 91
- Tweaked weekend XP, item drop and War Point bonuses
- Added some upcoming event items to the system
- Updated in-game auto-messages for better clarity and added some additional ones providing game info to players
While some nation imbalance is going to remain due to individual players, brigrades, time zones and so on always changing, we are observing far, far better balanced nations at this time based on our statistics and in-game indicators like NCP and Strategic Point wins/losses.
We have also been discussing a few things relating to the enchant system and legend system. We have put in a request with Masang Soft to change enchants so that, when an enchant fails and an enchant protect card is not used, the item does not break (but all enchants are lost). We feel this is a more fair solution than the current setup and is more fitting given the current state of the game's item and equipment requirements. As for the legend stuff, well, we're still trying to come up with a way to make it more rewarding or useful - not necessarily buffing legended item stats, but making legending more reliable and less destructive.
We have a new patch scheduled for next week, which will include the elusive gift feature we've requested. We're still in discussion about a number of changes and don't yet have the full change list in the update, but you guys will learn of it soon enough!
Have a great weekend everyone, and game on!
