Kentucky Route Zero
Act I available now, and IGF nominations
January 9, 2013 - Jake
Hi y'all -- been a big week for Kentucky Route Zero!
We released Act I on monday, which you can now purchase on our site at http://kentuckyroutezero.com
The game has also received four nominations in the Independent Game Festival: Visual Art, Narrative, Audio, and one for the grand prize. We're really honored, especially because the rest of the nominees and honorable mentions contain some of our favorite games in recent memory (like Cart Life, Dys4ia, Thirty Flights of Loving, Gone Home, Super Hexagon ... there are a lot).
So! One of the benefits of being a finalist in the IGF this year is: "All IGF Main Competition finalists for this year's event will receive the opportunity to accept a distribution agreement for Steam" (http://igf.com/2012/12/igf_valve_to_offer_steam_distr.html). We don't have any details about that yet; we haven't been in touch with anyone from IGF or Valve yet. But it means that KRZ is definitely coming to Steam at some point, so that's exciting!
We'll keep this Greenlight page running, because it's still a good way to keep in touch with you folks. Watch this space for announcements about how and when the game will be released on Steam.
