Go to Hell Dave
Questions & Answers
23 november, 2012 - Bungeeman

We have received a few questions about ‘Go to Hell Dave’ so we thought we’d create a little post to answer them. As always, we love that you’re asking questions and making suggestions. Please feel free to ask us anything and we’ll endeavour to respond as quickly as possible.

Will there be voice acting in this game?

Yes. We can categorically state that the game will definitely be fully voice acted

How much will the game cost?

Because of the way ‘Steam Greenlight’ works, we can’t confirm a price for the game until it is Greenlit. However, we intend to give the entire first level away for free as a fairly sizeable demo.

Will the game be translated into any other languages?

This actually hadn’t even crossed our minds until one Steam user pointed it out. Being English, we’re terrible when it comes to European languages (as many of our European friends regularly point out.) However, if there is enough interest from other countries, we will gladly make the effort to have the game translated. For the moment, we are naturally writing the game in English, but translation will definitely be given a lot of consideration.

Thanks for the feedback and the up-votes everyone. We’re looking forward to hearing from you all again.

The opening cutscene is going to be in the style of a comic book so it will have both Text and Voice over the top.

As for additional languages, this is something we will do much later down the line unfortunately. Popular European languages will be the first on our list.

Hello again,

Please do not forget the subtitles for non native english speakers ! For instance in the Hector detective series, they even forgot to add the english subtitles in the cinematics !

the beginning of this game sounds like the starting cinimatic for painkiller.

The world hasn't had many fantastic point-and-click games in quite a while. This looks like it just might fix that.

Smoking doesn't make games look cool. Grim Fandango makes smoking look cool.

The thing about smokin is:
Grim Fandango kinda set a precedent that smoking can't be that bad if everybody is dead already. I reckon this carries over to a few sherbets...

Tell you what make it a rated R and go for the Benny Hill british comedy all the way.... A cross between Leisure Suit Larry and Benny Hill..... that would be funny and I would be willing to pay for that game... I think we all need a laugh now and then....

That's a very good question. We've discussed this at length and there is definitely a lot of references to booze and cigarettes (it is hell after all.) We also have some mild off-colour language and some references to sex. But it's all very tongue-in-cheek and a lot of it is implied rather than simply stated. We imagine that it will probably end up being somewhere in teh region of a 'PEGI 12' but that's purely speculation at this point.

What will the game be rated?
Is there any nudity or off colour language?
