Primordia
WE ARE IN THE TOP 100!
18 de noviembre de 2012 - Wadjet Eye Games

After a mere 6 days, we have leaped up the charts to enter the ranks of the top 100 rated games on Greenlight. Thank you, everyone, for helping us get here!

However, getting to the top 100 is only half the battle. Now begins the long, hard slog to the top 10. Steam only takes the top 10 rated games every month. So if Primordia is going to be on Steam, it still has a ways to go. We'll keep you updated as things progress.

We're currently at #85, so exactly 84 games have MORE votes at the moment. :)

At this very moment there are 963 games on Greenlight, so about 90% of the entries have less votes at the moment!

@Everdien: I see where you're coming from, however this just goes to prove my point. PC-gaming thrives through Steam. Any game I buy on disc just gives me a code to activate it on Steam. The major public does not look beyond this medium and any game getting released for PC will most likely not be marginally profitable if not made available on Steam. Which is what games like Primordia deserve to be, profitable, so more like it can be made.
To me it seems unreasonable that a company like Wadjet Eye, who has done it's best to make quality games available to the major public gets kicked in the same corner as someone looking to make a quick buck off a hype-train.

@Stravagante: steam and slenderman can burn in a (non-fatal - mind the mods) fire for all I care. Steam is not a curated gallery of awesomeness, and the idea of a causal relationship between quality and steam presence is laughable even for a classical statistician. However, the public overwhelmingly voted to shackle devs to this abomination of a "distribution platform".

Valve doesn't have a Mission beyond making a profit, and *they* get to define criteria for merit - exactly because a disproportionate number of subscribers have vested that overwhelming power in them. And if they decide that capitalizing on the lousy memes is the way to go, guess who doesn't get a say? Congrats humanity, you have locked your most vibrant slice of culture in the most stupid optimization trap imaginable. Apathetic bloody planet.

Strange if they don't take into consideration very short time of 100% success.

Stravagante you're making so much sense that I have to check that if I'm still on the internet.

@Everdien No, I don't think so. The Slenderman games are all based on the same template, a public domain character popularised by a public domain game. They serve no other purpose than to get you worked up and frightened.

Primordia on the other hand has a completely original idea behind it, that tells you an interesting story.
So yeah, Primordia deserves to be on Steam a million times more than those slenderman-games being put together to capatilise off a popular meme.
