Cook, Serve, Delicious!
CSD: New Content & Steam Features!
September 5, 2013 - chubigans

I only get one chance to release this game on Steam, and I want to make it the biggest release ever. To do that, I'm adding a ton of new features into Cook, Serve, Delicious that I'd like to run through today.

Key Binding Support

One of the biggest changes to the game, and in many respects a game changer for some foods. It was very difficult binding some specific keys to certain ingredients, and I know that there were some foods people avoided (such as Pizza) simply because the keys were not assigned to a natural layout. But that all changes now, as you can change every single food, chore and event to whatever key map you want!

The CookBet App

Early in the game you will receive an email from a hacker who's gone into your email client and installed a new "Bet" button. This new menu gives you a completely randomized betting scenario each day, with thousands of possible combinations. Using your new Silver Ticket currency you can choose to enter into a bet or wait and see what the next day brings. Harder-to-cook foods bring extra bonus multipliers (such as the Shish Kabob which has a huge 4x multiplier!) These are tough challenges that should really only be tried by the best cooks out there, so good luck!

UI Improvement, New Engine and More Options

There's been quite a few small changes I've been wanting to add to the PC/Mac/Linux versions for quite some time. First off, the UI is getting streamlined a bit to help the flow of going through menus faster and easier (mainly repositioning some elements, etc.) There will also be some new options including turning the Rush Hour text flash on and off, practicing chores, and selecting your Cook4Luv dating preference at any time via the Options menu. Finally, the PC build will be updated to the GMStudio version of the game, which allows for much better upscaling when going full screen, a smaller memory footprint and faster load times.

Steam Achievements, Trading Cards

I'm also supporting Steam with full achievement support (nearly 50 achievements in all!). These achievements will help you keep track of all the craziness and chaos of the game as you progress through your career!

Trading cards will also be supported, with up to eight in all to collect.

These new changes really makes Cook, Serve, Delicious! the best version of the game ever released. I'm so excited and can't wait until it's available! I'm shooting for an early October release at $9.99. Those who have purchased the PC/Mac/Linux versions will be eligible for a free Steam key very shortly after launch. I'll post an announcement once a final date is set!
