I'd recommend removing some portalable surfaces to prevent some shortcuts. Short, simple, but fun though.

That's not the proper way as you though. By the way, i'm really impressed by this trick, made me laugh like "What the Fu** xD". Thanks for telling, I'll make something to prevent this use of the cube! :-)

I kinda cheated my way out. I did not need any of the caged cube, the pressure plate or the laser relays or their associated stairs. Like in your description, one reflecto cube and portals do the trick, well, with unintended (I believe) use of a relay. see screenshot
