It always bothered me seeing Lydia sleeping in heavy armor.

Love your mod, but is there any way you could get it to work with http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=108444576? To get yours to work, it needs to be loaded after the Redone Package, but yours resets the way they look, inside and outside of houses.

@Galvitorix699: at the moment, it only works for the original 5 housecarls.
BillyMoBetta 14 okt, 2012 @ 10:00am

thanx :)

hey if you marry one of your housecarl's do they continue to wear the home clothes at wherever the player wants them to live, also are you working on making it so that they only change out of their armor once they stop following you?
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 18 mar, 2012 @ 5:37am
@polosc I'm sorry I can't help you with those error messages. If you want to look at the script I created, it should be available in the .bsa file. There are various tools available for download that let you extract info from a .bsa file.
polosc 11 mar, 2012 @ 6:49am
Thanks again for the detailed instructions and the screen shot - I have no idea why but I get the following error message when i click on the properties tab - "Errors encountered while attempting to reload script" when I click 'OK' it take me to another screen which is totally blank. When I load Skyrim.esm and SHARPE Housecarls.esp into the Creation Kit I am also creating a new .esp file, to be my active file. I am doing this because you instructed me to not make SHARPE Housecarls my active file. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?
polosc 10 mar, 2012 @ 3:55pm
Cool - TYVM for the help
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 10 mar, 2012 @ 8:37am
@polosc: I'm not aware of any protection on the script. However, you don't need to modify the script to change the outfit. You can just change the parameters of my script instead. To do so, load both Skyrim.esm and SHARPE Housecarls.esp into the Creation Kit (do NOT make the Housecarls.esp active, though). Then find the Housecarl you want to change the clothes for, select the ActorChangeOutfitsAtLocation script and modify the InsideOutfit parameter. I've posted a screenshot here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/170850/Games/Skyrim/mods/SHARPE/Housecarls%20change%20outfit.jpg

great mod - I am trying to access yr papryus script to modify the clothing worn but I keep getting an error message telling me it is unaccessable - is it protected some how?
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 5 mar, 2012 @ 10:26am
@stormwlf555: the trick is to set the correct Outfit for the actor. I did this by attaching a script to each housecarl that implements the onLocationChange() event and then calls setOutfit() (part of the ActorBase Script). You'll have to add a parameter to your script to tell it which outfit to use.

@Markntosh: I'm looking into this. I want to make the outfit configurable by the player as well, through dialogue options.
stormwlf555 3 mar, 2012 @ 6:19pm
it works but i left lydia in housecarls armor gave her 2h steel great sword made her essential and made her cap 81 instead of 50.juat cant fig out how to make her wear farm or merchant cloths/
stormwlf555 1 mar, 2012 @ 3:46pm
is it possible to know how to change there indoor cloths. i married lydia and she has a store aswell so like her to be in merchant cloths when inside is there anyway to do this (lydia currently defaults to fine cloths) any help would be appreciated and thumbs up.
[AU] Markntosh [War Eagle] 22 feb, 2012 @ 5:05pm
Is it possible you could extend this to all the followers? I'm currently playing an Orc and have the Steel-Heart girl from one of the strongholds following me, but she doesn't fall under this mod since she isn't a housecarl.
EhrinLove 22 feb, 2012 @ 2:50am
I'm not sure which of my mods this was confilcting with but it would cause my game to freeze and lock up compleatly
Kitsune 19 feb, 2012 @ 10:19pm
Hey I unsubscribe because the set of armor I had on Lydia disspeared from her inventory so it does remove it from her inventory.
Twine 16 feb, 2012 @ 9:34pm
Is there any way to modify what clothes they wear inside. My housecarls just switch back t their default armor.
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 15 feb, 2012 @ 10:14am
@Moll: I wish I could tell you not to worry, but obviously I can't...

@mteigers: The mod works by setting the default "outfit" of the housecarl, which is the stuff they are given by the game to avoid walking around in their underwear. From what I can tell from the documentation, this should be separate from their inventory (which is why it doesn't show up when you trade with them). I use a small trick to force the housecarl to reevaluate what gear to equip when leaving the house (adding and removing an iron dagger), similar to what happens when you trade with them to equip them with better gear.

The script I use is just a few lines and as far as I can tell, there's nothing there that would cause equipment to disappear from their inventory.
Moll 15 feb, 2012 @ 2:52am
I like the idea, but dont want to experience loosing some fine armor, as mteigers described. Any info on this particular part, anyone else been experiencing the same thing?
Mteigers 14 feb, 2012 @ 12:04am
Ugh.. I love the concept behind this mod but Jardis went into my house in Solitude and lost a bunch of ebony armor. I'm going to have to unsubscribe for now.
J-Nice 13 feb, 2012 @ 10:36am
This is great! I hate seeing my housecarls (especially Lydia) sit around in full armor. It seems so silly that they would wear 100 pounds of gear all day. It always bothered me but now I dont have to worry about it anymore. Now I can focus on my other soul crushing issues!
Gandalf 12 feb, 2012 @ 10:02am
@Herko - i've tried disabling all my other mods - but the equipment still behaves wierdly. Besides - the fine clothes doesn't show up in the invnentory if i ask to trade with her - only if i use the "Showinventory" console command. Anyhow - i'll most definately make a new character soon as i'm gonna do a playthrough/Walkthrough - and i'll see if the problem persists. In any case -- thank you for your help, and if the mod still continues to struggle with me, i'll contact you on this messageboard further.
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 12 feb, 2012 @ 9:44am
@DehAwesomeGuyImbahWithCheeze Sorry to hear you continue to have problems. Do you use any mods that make the "hidden" equipment of people behave like normal items? Because by using my mod, the fine clothes should not appear in Lydia's inventory at all, just like her default armor and weapons.

Perhaps you can resolve the issue by reinstalling my mod, bringing Lydia outside the house (where she should put on her normal outfit), then saving and then removing my mod again.
Gandalf 12 feb, 2012 @ 7:22am
Herko, again - i have disabled it in any way possible - i even checked the data folder. There is no trace of the mod - yet she insists on constantly wearing the fine armour - even though i've used the "Unequipitem" command. She just regains the clothes. I've allso tried killing her and resurrect her - so that she would loose her inventory, but no. When i use the "Showinventory" command, it shows that she's carrying the Fine clothes and boots, but underneath it says "BAD EDITOR ID". I don't know what that means, but i want the fine clothes to be gone. Also - it's not only inside she uses the clothes - it's literally everywhere. Thank you for your help.
Dr.FREEMAN 12 feb, 2012 @ 3:43am
wonderful
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 12 feb, 2012 @ 3:35am
@DehAwesomeGuyImbahWithCheeze: the mod sets a default outfit inside and outside the house. If the Ancient Nord armor is better than the default armor, she should start to wear this outside the house. To completely disable the mod, make sure it is deselected in Data Files in the Skyrim launcher screen. Just unsubscribing should do this, but it will leave the mod file in place, so perhaps it got activated again by accident.
@Kurziden: it might well conflict with mods that remove default inventory, as this mod works by explicitly setting the default outfit of the housecarls. It should be compatible with mods that remove weapons (such as the hunting bow), as this mod only affects armor. Please note that the default outfit does not actually appear in the inventory.
@Mighty Lou: I have not seen this happen to my Lydia. The things this mod does should not affect the actual inventory of the housecarls at all.
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 12 feb, 2012 @ 3:35am
Thanks for the comments (and the ratings), glad you're all enjoying the mod :)

@Premium Sirloin: I've been trying to find a way to have housecarls, spouses and followers equip whatever clothes the player has given them, but it doesn't seem feasible without breaking other stuff. It should be possible to give spouses a default "nice clothes" outfit to wear around the house, though.
Mighty Lou 12 feb, 2012 @ 1:35am
I like the concept behind this mod. However, ever since I have loaded it, the armor that I give to Lydia has been disappearing from her inventory when she changes back into her house clothes. Bug with this mod, or something else?
Kurzidan 11 feb, 2012 @ 10:21pm
hmmm wonder if this conflicts with say.. removed default inventory on housecarls mod? we'll see.
Gandalf 11 feb, 2012 @ 7:28pm
Ehm, i'm just wondering - I deleted the mod since i like the Ancient Nord Armour, but even so - she still insist on wearing the Fine Clothes. I tried re-equipping the Nord Armour, but the next time she enters the house she still have the Fine Clothes. I can't even remove them with "Unequipitem 'target' 'ID'". Is there some way i can solve that crap?
specularr 11 feb, 2012 @ 5:56pm
Thanks, works great and adds to the immersion!
Dreogan 11 feb, 2012 @ 5:48pm
Nice, idea, I'll give it a try. Now, if only there was a way to give my wife a wardrobe upgrade from those peasant rags she insists on wearing around Solitude. I feel like we should have a trailer, not Proudspire.
Rotten Luck 11 feb, 2012 @ 4:22pm
Bravo! This was something I was hoping for but have no skill at Mods.
R.Rossi 11 feb, 2012 @ 1:34pm
Nice mod! I like role playing
unintended_87 11 feb, 2012 @ 12:45pm
Me too :P
Apex 11 feb, 2012 @ 12:45pm
Sharpe, great mods! Like how you are thinking about realism. Keep at it!
Z~ 11 feb, 2012 @ 7:31am
Lol i clicked on this thinking it had somethign to do with sean bean
Herko_ter_Horst  [skapare] 11 feb, 2012 @ 2:37am
Thanks for the comments! Glad you're enjoying the mod.

@Kat: it should be stable as it is quite simple and does not mess with any quests or locations.
Kat 11 feb, 2012 @ 2:10am
I like this idea for a mod, is it stable?
Wolf 11 feb, 2012 @ 12:52am
This is great, honestly. I typically shoot for realism and this adds alot of it, as knights/warriors didn't wear their armor during bed... lol. (Well not often.)
Kuiperling 10 feb, 2012 @ 10:03pm
This is a great idea and exactly what I've been looking for; I'll be sure to test this out. Good luck making it work!
