Also, that graphic type would have worked on the SNES 15 years ago. Not gonna try it today.
Putting this one in my favorite list, and offcourse i vote it up :)
Do like, and I will say yes to this.
---BUT you should improve graphics and that things.

@Killcrazy, Yes, I have. Instead of a hot tub time machine, it's an NES time machine.
@Everybody, check out tripngyp's Bebai Isle - beautiful town design. Catch a glimpse on the Atlas page: http://islandforge.com/atlas/
It was a huge RPG with hundreds of quests... Unfortunately all the quests were crammed into one city, each part of the city had at least half a dozen quest NPC's in it... The thing that is similar though, was that that also had a story creator where you could share adventures online... Except I think I was the only one who ever knew about the game. :P
This does look really really good though. :D
There are number of pattern masks, and each combination of styles can define which should be used when they're together (on any edge). The masks can allow the neighboring tiles to be sampled to give a transition appearance (vs just a solid edge).
Anyway, I'm glad you appreciate the effect!
Vanillanougat: I have an inexplicable affinity for hex maps, and I love Settlers of Catan. The gameplay is not so much inspired by it, but the style is certainly in the back of my mind.
