I'd rather pay for it in full. Didn't have problems buying NWN and playing all the modules available. Don't see why I'd have any problems paying for this. Buuuut... having to register an account and pay for "Lifetime Membership"? Pass!

Lower prices = increased intrest = higher sales

"F2P" aka Pay 2 Win. Get it out of here.

Amazing, just..Amazing!!!
likalaruku 12 Feb 2013 @ 4:59pm
Reminds me of the custom level map moder from Age of Empires 1 or 2.
ninilac 9 Feb 2013 @ 1:24pm
I'd like to try it, but sadly, i'm not able to register here in Canada :/
H2K 2 Feb 2013 @ 6:47am
Not bad, looks like a lot of fun. I can make a funny story. However, 40.00? I am not sure if that is something that I would buy when 40 dollars can get me a new game basically.
Bixxith 18 Jan 2013 @ 5:57pm
I enjoy this style of game and I really like the idea. However, the micro transactions are a bit over the top. $40 to remove a level cap and upgrade your islands to large islands? This game may have had a lot of hard work put into it but $40 is a little steep, even if it is optional.
Catscratch 15 Jan 2013 @ 4:21am
Not my type of game but looks alright. Multi-OS and cross-platform support is great!
Have an upvote.
Campaigner 10 Jan 2013 @ 2:20am
First we see is that there is a mapeditor. Totally uninteresting to me.

Also, that graphic type would have worked on the SNES 15 years ago. Not gonna try it today.
ChosenPredator 4 Jan 2013 @ 3:16pm
Yeah, it looks really complex from the video but I love the concept so i want to support it, i guess the term would be make it more user friendly so more people can get into it.
Nyhm  [auteur] 1 Jan 2013 @ 7:41am
Thanks for the follow-up kjelli_ and for your support Moonstruck! Happy New Year - let's get Island Forge into Steam in 2013!
Luna Moonstuck 27 Dec 2012 @ 10:33pm
I love the concept. Am willing to support this game.
kjelli_ 18 Dec 2012 @ 7:57am
Sure, I will try to be more specific, Tile system seems quite straight forward its when you show the Actor, Quest and Event management system thing with different nodes I feel a bit confused, it would however not surprise me that it might look more complicated then it actually is. it would certainly be intresting to see the new fetures.
Nyhm  [auteur] 18 Dec 2012 @ 6:39am
Thanks for your comments, kjelli_ - I'm interested to know what was confusing in the video. It's about time I made another one, to show some of the latest features.
kjelli_ 12 Dec 2012 @ 6:01am
personaly i like the retro graphics :P seems like a good game concept might have to make it a bit more idiot friendly tho becaus i got more confused by the video^^ but i do like "sandbox" create your own fun and share it concept. thumbs up!
Nyhm  [auteur] 9 Dec 2012 @ 1:01pm
It's the Brand-New Old-School MMORPG - having a retro look & feel is an intentional design decision, but I appreciate your point of view. I very much like to hear what you think of the game, so thanks for your comment.
wolfofthenyght 9 Dec 2012 @ 6:58am
Upvoting for the concept :D It looks like it would be really awesome, but I have to agree, this game looks like it needs some grraphical improvements. As someone below me mentioned, it looks very 'Windows 98'.
Beinrangel 16 Nov 2012 @ 7:15am
Wow, looks like a game i could spend countless hours/days/weeks/months on.

Putting this one in my favorite list, and offcourse i vote it up :)
TitanRex 13 Nov 2012 @ 9:02am
The game is very intelligent (I have played it :D ) however it requires a larger fanbase! +Upvote in the hopes of that :D
Tongia 12 Nov 2012 @ 12:47pm
It's like a single-player Age Of Empires 2.
Do like, and I will say yes to this.

---BUT you should improve graphics and that things.
Lazorne 12 Nov 2012 @ 6:04am
Cool concept but i still think the art could use some more polish to make it look less Windows 98. Still upvote for concept
ñδδβΞЯ 4 Nov 2012 @ 7:34pm
Best game ever!
Warspite2 4 Nov 2012 @ 6:02pm

totaly love it. I definitly want this.
GrandHaven 8 Oct 2012 @ 2:30pm
Totally!
Nyhm  [auteur] 8 Oct 2012 @ 12:25pm
@Totally Kyle, that's the idea exactly - To provide an environment where players can be creative without yet another complex RPG "toolkit" - Simplicity and ease-of-use are key.

@Killcrazy, Yes, I have. Instead of a hot tub time machine, it's an NES time machine.

@Everybody, check out tripngyp's Bebai Isle - beautiful town design. Catch a glimpse on the Atlas page: http://islandforge.com/atlas/
GrandHaven 7 Oct 2012 @ 10:44pm
an rpg creator. not everyday you find these in a simple form. ill think about it.
Killcrazy 3 Oct 2012 @ 6:30pm
Mother of God... you have invented a time machine... and I have accidentally travelled back into the nineties... D:
Spindraft 2 Oct 2012 @ 5:14pm
Love the game and hope to see it do well. Am working on an island now and hope to publish within a couple of weeks (look for Bebai Isle soon). Will cont to improve the island and support Island Forge in any way possible. Great job Nyhm.
Nyhm  [auteur] 2 Oct 2012 @ 10:59am
One of my main goals was to provide a game in which players can be creative and tell stories without all the complexity of most "game builder" tools. Instead of having to deal with game balance, technical details, and even hosting/distribution, players can create and publish islands with stories for others to explore, all available in one world.
General Lo 1 Oct 2012 @ 4:18pm
looks like a nice game that some wanna-be Devs can take their time on to create a cool quest or two in a well built world.
DarkByNight 28 Sep 2012 @ 6:42am
This really reminds me (Graphically and perhaps somewhat gameplay-like) of a really old game I had for PC...
It was a huge RPG with hundreds of quests... Unfortunately all the quests were crammed into one city, each part of the city had at least half a dozen quest NPC's in it... The thing that is similar though, was that that also had a story creator where you could share adventures online... Except I think I was the only one who ever knew about the game. :P
This does look really really good though. :D
Dreamϟcape 26 Sep 2012 @ 6:08pm
If its on steam I will definitely try it. =)
Nyhm  [auteur] 25 Sep 2012 @ 6:17am
Thanks, Me. The transitions between hex tiles was actually one of the trickiest things in the rendering to create. It's not just a set of fixed transitions; the engine renders them depending on the situation.

There are number of pattern masks, and each combination of styles can define which should be used when they're together (on any edge). The masks can allow the neighboring tiles to be sampled to give a transition appearance (vs just a solid edge).

Anyway, I'm glad you appreciate the effect!
Me 25 Sep 2012 @ 4:38am
Lol The comments say pretty much what i thought when i saw it "Wow!" at first i was worried about the hexagon tiles (I've never been a fan of them visually) but then i noticed in adventure mode the tiles all lose their obviousness, i especially like how the cobble stone fades to grass and the water/land edge is nice and smooth, very nice work! Wish I had seen you on kickstarter, oh well least i can vote you up here :D
maxpower 24 Sep 2012 @ 2:48pm
Holy crap I cannot sign up to play this game
Nyhm  [auteur] 24 Sep 2012 @ 12:13pm
Thanks for the continuing comments and votes!

Vanillanougat: I have an inexplicable affinity for hex maps, and I love Settlers of Catan. The gameplay is not so much inspired by it, but the style is certainly in the back of my mind.
Arakiven 21 Sep 2012 @ 6:43pm
Really unique idea, +1 thumbs up for you.
Smithy 21 Sep 2012 @ 5:02pm
I love the idea
Brendan of Nugsberg 20 Sep 2012 @ 6:31pm
I'm really liking this art style. I would totally play this.
UberChargedTurtle 19 Sep 2012 @ 5:59am
This looks very nice, not so much of a fan of the graphics, but looks promising, upvoted.
CT Bone Fletcher 17 Sep 2012 @ 3:19pm
this isn't a game it's the warcraft 2 map editor
Cold|Heat 15 Sep 2012 @ 3:26pm
Would it be possible to make the maps way bigger. So not just small islands but continents? That would actually be much more interesting to me
Vanillanougat 15 Sep 2012 @ 3:20pm
Just out of curiosity, was this game in any way influenced by the Settlers of Catan board game? :D
