@Leon123442 - Thanks! Checked out yours, looks great!
qberty  [Autor] 17. Apr. um 17:33 Uhr
@drewbymullen - Yes, Uplink is one of the reasons why I decided to start this game.
drewbymullen 17. Apr. um 15:07 Uhr
...Uplink...
qberty  [Autor] 7. Apr. um 3:45 Uhr
@Hybrid Terror - ahh. Alrighty then.
True Joker 7. Apr. um 3:33 Uhr
Welp...it musta been a glitch...I went to my green light community area and favorites and something said u were greenlit...
qberty  [Autor] 7. Apr. um 3:12 Uhr
@Hybrid Terror - what do you mean I am greenlit?
qberty  [Autor] 7. Apr. um 3:11 Uhr
@FootsiesPajamies - I will definitely release a beta/demo when I have everything settleoand sorted out for this game. It definitely is weird that a lot of games haven't been green lit in a while.
True Joker 5. Apr. um 12:21 Uhr
welp you are green lit and we've been waiting!
when it comin!
FootsiesPajamies 3. Apr. um 12:45 Uhr
It'd be awesome if you could release a beta, somewhere. Chances are this will get greenlit, it's just that there hasnt been any games greenlit of a long time.
qberty  [Autor] 1. Apr. um 15:09 Uhr
Well so far it's been very motivating to see how many people want this game. I'm currently Rank #5 on Greenlight! If I get greenlit, i'm going to pour all of my resources into finishing this game completely. If I don't, i'm going to slowly finish my other projects an apps to help free up time to work on this. I really want to work full time on this and make it the best!
FootsiesPajamies 31. März um 15:35 Uhr
Awesome can't wait any idea of an approximate eta?
qberty  [Autor] 31. März um 13:52 Uhr
@FootsiesPajamies - Absolutely not dead! I'm very proud and eager to get this game complete for everyone to play!
FootsiesPajamies 27. März um 22:59 Uhr
This dead or?
theclucker 19. März um 15:27 Uhr
hmmm. intresting.
TheCriticChiken 20. Feb. um 0:57 Uhr
@qberty Well, I guess that's fair enough
qberty  [Autor] 19. Feb. um 16:04 Uhr
@TheCriticChiken - Well 10 dollars I figured would be reasonable given how much features this game will have. Fully voiced games usually range around that price. If it gets accepted on Greenlight, i'll offer a preorder/early game access price that everyone get to test it out, and not feel cheated if they don't like it.
bananagrams 11. Feb. um 15:39 Uhr
Can't wait for this to come out!
TheCriticChiken 8. Feb. um 14:15 Uhr
@qberty No problem :3, and no offense to your game, I'm sure it would be worth it, but for me 10-14 dollars is a bit much :/. You see, good sir, I am only 15 and low on cash, so when I can buy a game it's usually for about 4-6 pounds. 9 dollars, yes I would pay (doesn't seem like much of a difference from 10 but it's a lot to me =3)
Bisneit 6. Feb. um 5:55 Uhr
Voted! It looks interesting!
qberty  [Autor] 3. Feb. um 9:44 Uhr
@TheCriticChiken Thank you! I'll putting up a poll somewhere to see what the majority of players would pay for a fully featured game of this sort. I was thinking somewhere between 10-14 dollars.
TheCriticChiken 24. Jan. um 11:34 Uhr
Voted, looks awesome, played Hacker Evolution, Uplink and Onlink and this, although the graphics are minimalistic, that's not the most important thing, gameplay is, so can't say much without playing it for myself but still can't wait! Also, how much do you plan to sell the game for? And lastly, I will share this game everywhere I can to help speed up the Greenlight process. Although I'll try not to attract 7 year old COD players that just want to mess stuff up in multiplayer and make the community bad :)
Medżyk 18. Jan. um 12:32 Uhr
Voted, I'm waiting, it looks amazing!
qberty  [Autor] 13. Nov. 2014 um 19:18 Uhr
@MEGA2003 - Thanks for the vote! Though I still plan to release this game regardless if it gets greenlit or not. Though it being greenlit would allow me to justify putting way more resources and time into it, so as to have it completed faster.
astupidyellowidiotwithsomepaper 12. Nov. 2014 um 14:24 Uhr
I hope this game does get enough yes votes. It really looks like a good game.
I also voted yes for this game to get on steam.
qberty  [Autor] 11. Nov. 2014 um 19:12 Uhr
@MEGA2003 - Well this game in particular hasn't gotten enough "Yes" votes because of two things. 1. I have no put up a trailer/demo for it yet. And 2. I don't advertise this game at all. Not even a little bit. Not even my direct family hear me talk about it unless they ask ME. Marketing is important for indie games like this.
astupidyellowidiotwithsomepaper 11. Nov. 2014 um 19:09 Uhr
How come fnaf 2 got got greenlit in less than a day but qualty games like this have been on greenlite for a while?
CarlosRegueraDJ 6. Nov. 2014 um 4:52 Uhr

@Alex -This game isn't dumbing anything down. It's creating an alternate "easier" to understand interface on top of what you can do in a terminal. Nothing is being taken away from what you do if you KNOW what you're doing, but if you're an average/casual gamer who doesn't deal with terminals and consoles on a daily basis, I'm making the pinnacle of this game to be it's easy to understand and use interface.

If you want realism, and philosophically sound accurate game play, you can try Hacker Evolution, but you'll never really get what you are looking for. This type of game already isn't very profitable for most game companies. Anyone who is too technical won't want a "dumbed down" game. And anyone who isn't technical at all won't want a complex game with multi-layered k-level thinkers.
qberty  [Autor] 7. Okt. 2014 um 15:10 Uhr
@Alex - I don't know if you actually DO any penetration testing. But I do professionally. And though more cores and higher GHz may not be "better" in that sense. It's faster. I'm not going to include multiple different CPU architectures to mimic real life as that would just be over complicating things. The hardware you buy in the game is going to represent the best type of each class and rank. 100 Gbit/s connections are used a lot of times. Especially for hacking using specific methods. Majority of the upgrades are exactly what they are. And Upgrade. They aren't required but they help you do things faster.

The whole point of this game is to get in and get out with what you need. Why not have hardware that will speed up the process? Also I don't think classifying what is "needed" for hacking would determine what would be easy to use and intuitive for a game.
Alex 4. Okt. 2014 um 2:28 Uhr
@qberty I was not talking about which parts you needed, more about what they actually do and how they impact what you do. For example: more cores and higher Ghz != better. In most of the cases your purchase is based on CPU architecture instead. Also, when would you ever need a 100Gbit/s connection for hacking?

I don't know the full scope of this game, but it's things like that which struck me as "dumbing it down" a bit, and I have no problems with it. I know you can't really get too technical in a game that people without any knowledge about these things will play.
qberty  [Autor] 3. Okt. 2014 um 21:42 Uhr
@Alex - Well if you're talking about hardware. It technically is that simplistic. If you were to order a cloud computer anywhere, or host a dedicated server. You'd literally only need to specify and configure/pay for those important hardware parts.

If you're talking about the game as whole, well like I said in a lot of previous comments, it's very difficult to balance simplicity with realism when it comes to a game that is based on something so complex.
Alex 2. Okt. 2014 um 13:27 Uhr
Looks interesting but description of the things you need in the game to hack sounds a bit "simplistic". I guess there's no need to explain how the different hardware parts actually works though. It just feels like many people will get the wrong impression by this. :P
qberty  [Autor] 12. Sep. 2014 um 21:17 Uhr
@plaza2028 - It's merely a game, you're not actually going to be hacking in to real computers. However, it's based on what real hacking techniques are, with a couple of exceptions I had to make in terms of time/speed. For example, when bruteforcing a password (randomly guessing all combinations of possible password). In real life this would normally take from 1 minute to 20 years depending on how complicated the password is. In the game, for specific time tasks like this, I speed it up to get around that issue so it takes less than a minute.

This makes it a little less realistic, but I highly doubt anyone would sit at the game and wait a possible 20 years for a password to be guessed successfully. :)

Looks awesome! I hope it goes well+1 but is it based on real hocking or just a dipiction?

Looks nice! I'm into Uplink for a while so if this plays around that space (or better) I'm all for that.

@Eternull - I don't mean to keep everyone in the dark about everything, but that's usually the best way to get things done without being deterred. This game is definitely going to come out, whether it's greenlit or not (but having it on steam would be pretty nice). Demo will definitely be available as soon as I can stuff as much features into it without revealing too much of the full game in it. The don't really have an ETA for the finished product, as i'm going for the "when it's ready" approach to avoid any rushing.
True Joker 7. Juni 2014 um 10:03 Uhr
So is this game coming out? Been awhile since favorited when first saw it year ago or more? I don't even seem to find a demo on that site...wanted to know if this still going and how long till expected release? if known
۞Ufuk!''Gsmoke 2. Juni 2014 um 23:08 Uhr
i played alot of uplink,so if you mean that sorta thing then yes, also played around with armitage so yea :P realy looking forward to this, realy my type of game
qberty  [Autor] 2. Juni 2014 um 20:29 Uhr
@۞Ufuk!''Gsmoke Yeah the video is taking longer mainly because I want to get most of the game done for me to be able to show off everything this game can do. There will be an alpha if I have any plans on adding features after the main game base is already done.

Hopefully I won't need to go through an alpha phase since I know pretty much exactly what I want this game to turn out to be. If anyone has ever played hacker simulation games before, they will know what to expect. Except I plan on making this better than that. ;)
۞Ufuk!''Gsmoke 31. Mai 2014 um 11:21 Uhr
@qberty the video is promised a long time ago (about a year?) whats up with that? realy looking forward to this can you release some info about the development and/or if there is going to be an alpha?
