UPDATE 2015
It's summertime in Skyrim and a heatwave has melted all the snow!
Get my new map version!
Thanks to "Sketch (SpaceViking1)" for suggesting this version.
ZX Skyrim (Heatwave)

Instructions are at the top of the description ^ please read before commenting.
Place in: \My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Maps
Or:
\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\Maps
The preset doesn't matter in Civ V its just a placeholder.
You can set it up however you like, don't use the preset.
Make sure to move the map from the mods folder to the maps folder in My Games folder in my documents.
That way you can change all the things & even play it multiplayer.
There is even a link to the map only and a variant "heatwave" version because of the many comments like this.
Amazing how many Civ V players don't know how to use map mods & just activate the mod instead of coping the map, Civ is not helpful with this maps are mods system, its very confusing for new players.

You go ahead and add that yourself though, can you add dragons that attack towns and all the earls? Also it'd be nice to have a storyline like the game with a civil war and stuff.
Don't forget to link back here when you're done!
You can even play it online with friends!
Check the description no mod version yet but here is the map.
There are several snow litered farms in skyrim. You can't farm on snow in Civ V.
Thanks for sharing your opinion and personal preferences!
I wouldn't like to say that you are wrong but if you are talking about accuracy to the original Skyrim map as oppose to your own personal liking, then you are so wrong it's kind or painful and embarrassing for you have posted about it.
Obviously I can't make a map that fits everybody's personal taste, because everybody is different.
To make this map, an actual map of Syrim was exported directly from The Elder Scrolls Creation Kit, that was then exported to Photoshop where I overlaid the various hex blocks by hand (from a template of Civ V hex block types for use in Photoshop that I personally made for this purpose), I then used this as a template to build the map.
If you do not believe this to be true, then I suggest you check out my Facebook group “Zardoz Xerxes” where I fully documented the entire process in detail using pictures with accompanying text.
No.
I think but I'm not 100% sure... If you download this version it might come in a kind of civ zip file, if you can find that file and extract it to your game map directory on a mac? I don't use Mac's sorry. Maybe hit up the forum?
I set it up as I wished, the game is civ not Skyrim.

If you find the file in the mods folder you can open it with 7zip and pull the map out to your mydocuments/my games/civ v/maps folder this will let you load the map like any normal map.
its ok if you do not have one
Indeed it has been a while since I commented on the use of mods and maps in multiplayer.
Civ has been updated and you can play this map in multiplayer now, just make sure everyone you play with has the map copied to their Civ maps folder.
You need to go to Mods instead of Singleplayer on the main screen, and start your games from there onwards.
I think you may have a problem, maybe the forum for using CIV5 mods is the place for you to ask about this? Have you activated the mods in the mods section of the game? you need to press next on the mods screen and not back out to normal Civ for the mod(s) to work.

I'm fairly sure that depends on your settings in the advanced tab during game set-up.
I am a map maker not a programmer how is this so hard for you to understand? I didn’t make Civ, I just made a map with the built in mapper. So instead of criticizing something I didn’t and don’t do, why not appreciate what I have done? Unless you have any comment concerning THE MAP itself, such as getting stuck somewhere or not being able to load it, shut up and stop trolling this thread or get your irreverent and contemptuous posts deleted.
This map is huge, the Civ 5 map sizes are.
Duel: 40 x 25 (2 players, 4 city-states, 2 natural wonders)
Tiny: 56 x 36 (4 players, 8 city-states, 3 natural wonders)
Small: 66 x 42 (6 players, 12 city-states, 3 natural wonders)
Standard: 80 x 52 (8 players, 16 city-states, 4 natural wonders)
Large: 104 x 64 (10 players, 20 city-states, 6 natural wonders)
Huge: 128 x 80 (12 players, 24 city-states, 7 natural wonders)
Yes I know about that, but thanks for your feedback, if you look at further down this thread there are comments about it, this is why I made a scenario.
To fix your problem start the game load the mod then use the simple game set up screen to select the map, then in the simple set up screen tick use scenario (under the map). Choose where you wish to start by selecting your leader in reference to the list above or in the mod instructions.
