UPDATE 2015
It's summertime in Skyrim and a heatwave has melted all the snow!
Get my new map version!

Thanks to "Sketch (SpaceViking1)" for suggesting this version.

Instructions are at the top of the description ^ please read before commenting.

Place in: \My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Maps
Or:
\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\Maps

The preset doesn't matter in Civ V its just a placeholder.
You can set it up however you like, don't use the preset.

Make sure to move the map from the mods folder to the maps folder in My Games folder in my documents.

That way you can change all the things & even play it multiplayer.
There is even a link to the map only and a variant "heatwave" version because of the many comments like this.

Amazing how many Civ V players don't know how to use map mods & just activate the mod instead of coping the map, Civ is not helpful with this maps are mods system, its very confusing for new players.

What by the nine are you doing by putting all these desert civs in Skyrim? Where are the Danes? The Celts? The Swedes? Rome for Solitude seconded. :steamfacepalm:
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Jan 4, 2018 @ 9:06pm
@Caligula Sorry I missed your comment. Its on random, it is what it is, I moved on from Civ long ago.
You go ahead and add that yourself though, can you add dragons that attack towns and all the earls? Also it'd be nice to have a storyline like the game with a civil war and stuff.
Don't forget to link back here when you're done!
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Jan 4, 2018 @ 8:51pm
@Danwar Set the game up anyway you want you can just load the map without the presets.
You can even play it online with friends!
Danwar Jan 4, 2018 @ 8:04pm
Shouldn't Solitude be Rome (what with it being the main Imperial presence in skyrim)?
Caligula Jul 24, 2017 @ 5:12pm
this mod is good,but you need to add certain things to it(I.E silver arount the reach and Markarth,horses where the stables are,ect),and mabye make the colors not as confusing and blended together(seriously,half the time i cant even tell the difference between western Skyrim holds).
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Jul 23, 2015 @ 7:29pm
@Lerk The resources are random so there is sometimes... Just keep restarting!
CMDR Emotions Jul 18, 2015 @ 8:25pm
Shouldnet there be a silver source and Iron source next to DawnStar?
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Apr 7, 2015 @ 12:58pm
I got it all and running again now so if anyone wants to suggest a good leader line-up I can change that now.
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Apr 7, 2015 @ 12:57pm
Here you go less snow up north! Now you can make some farms for your poor starving people!
Check the description no mod version yet but here is the map.
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Apr 3, 2015 @ 4:29pm
I know it sucks to start up in the snow right? It's supposed to be hard, thats how I like it!
TexStarshine Mar 31, 2015 @ 8:30pm
I'm actually arguing for the effect of the terrain versus the appearance of the tile. If you made a mod that made it so that tundra looked like snow I'd use it in a heartbeat.

There are several snow litered farms in skyrim. You can't farm on snow in Civ V.

@Sketch (SpaceViking1)
Thanks for sharing your opinion and personal preferences!

I wouldn't like to say that you are wrong but if you are talking about accuracy to the original Skyrim map as oppose to your own personal liking, then you are so wrong it's kind or painful and embarrassing for you have posted about it.

Obviously I can't make a map that fits everybody's personal taste, because everybody is different.

To make this map, an actual map of Syrim was exported directly from The Elder Scrolls Creation Kit, that was then exported to Photoshop where I overlaid the various hex blocks by hand (from a template of Civ V hex block types for use in Photoshop that I personally made for this purpose), I then used this as a template to build the map.

If you do not believe this to be true, then I suggest you check out my Facebook group “Zardoz Xerxes” where I fully documented the entire process in detail using pictures with accompanying text.
TexStarshine Mar 29, 2015 @ 9:12pm
less snow, more tundra.

I apreciate your assistance.

@soulnuke000
No.

I think but I'm not 100% sure... If you download this version it might come in a kind of civ zip file, if you can find that file and extract it to your game map directory on a mac? I don't use Mac's sorry. Maybe hit up the forum?
Ghaznavid Mar 23, 2015 @ 6:04pm
Is there a link to the senarios direct download for mac users
Level 1 Goblin Jul 3, 2014 @ 1:28am
Wait... Theres an unit in the game that does that? Oh...
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Jul 2, 2014 @ 4:07pm
Still needs “dragon barbarians” to come and randomly destroy your cities tho!
Level 1 Goblin Jun 30, 2014 @ 1:13am
With the elder scrolls civ mod... WOAH

@Cptredlegend
I set it up as I wished, the game is civ not Skyrim.
Cptredlegend Mar 2, 2014 @ 7:16am

Galactic Pancakes Jan 31, 2014 @ 2:32pm

@markholmes3
If you find the file in the mods folder you can open it with 7zip and pull the map out to your mydocuments/my games/civ v/maps folder this will let you load the map like any normal map.
Galactic Pancakes Jan 31, 2014 @ 3:28am
hey dont you happen to have a non senario one? i dont want the cites thats why im asking
its ok if you do not have one

@[VuVú} Byzantine Bomb
Indeed it has been a while since I commented on the use of mods and maps in multiplayer.

Civ has been updated and you can play this map in multiplayer now, just make sure everyone you play with has the map copied to their Civ maps folder.
Byzantine Bomb Sep 10, 2013 @ 10:30am
If you use Giant Multiplayer Robot, you can use mods and scenarios in multiplayer.
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Jul 14, 2013 @ 9:56am
Mods or maps like this dont work in multiplayer on Civ V.
Andranik Jul 11, 2013 @ 11:14pm
im having trouble getting this map to work on multiplayer. i really like it on singleplayer but i would like to share it with some friends on multiplayer. When you select the Map Land it shows up in red for the other players meaning that they have not downloaded it when they have. We even tried to make a new save with the same map with the same name but it still doesnt seem to understand that we all have your map on singleplayer but cannot play together on multiplayer. Can you please show me the step by step process in how to configure a game of multiplayer because if yoyu did it would be much appreciated
pedro.sanchez666@hotmail.ru May 12, 2013 @ 7:31am
@NethanielShade

You need to go to Mods instead of Singleplayer on the main screen, and start your games from there onwards.
Legionlite Apr 19, 2013 @ 9:49am
I had the same proble I just unsubscribed and then resubscribed but dosnt always work
NethanielShade Feb 27, 2013 @ 3:22pm
Yeah. I've done subscribed then activated them, I've searched all over the internet for my problem, even uninstalling the game and re-installing. I can't seem to find anyone who has the same problem as me. The reason? There doesn't appear to be any problem other than the mods just don't work... :/
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Feb 26, 2013 @ 10:25am
@NethanielShade
I think you may have a problem, maybe the forum for using CIV5 mods is the place for you to ask about this? Have you activated the mods in the mods section of the game? you need to press next on the mods screen and not back out to normal Civ for the mod(s) to work.

I'm sorry, but mods for CIV V are shitty. I have about 5 downloaded mods and not a single works! This is one of them, and the map is nowhere to be seen.
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Feb 20, 2013 @ 10:04am
@Yiffing_Fox
I'm fairly sure that depends on your settings in the advanced tab during game set-up.
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Feb 20, 2013 @ 10:02am
I-T-S J-U-S-T -A- M-A-P. Why don’t you go program the stormcloaks or just shut your mouths?
I am a map maker not a programmer how is this so hard for you to understand? I didn’t make Civ, I just made a map with the built in mapper. So instead of criticizing something I didn’t and don’t do, why not appreciate what I have done? Unless you have any comment concerning THE MAP itself, such as getting stuck somewhere or not being able to load it, shut up and stop trolling this thread or get your irreverent and contemptuous posts deleted.
Yiffing_Fox Jan 15, 2013 @ 7:10pm
In the scenario, are there multiple ways to win or just Domination?
Galmez Dec 27, 2012 @ 7:00pm
Could of been more acuracte with translation of histortical figures. But good mod non the less
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Oct 22, 2012 @ 5:12am
@Uber McWinsauce
This map is huge, the Civ 5 map sizes are.
Duel: 40 x 25 (2 players, 4 city-states, 2 natural wonders)
Tiny: 56 x 36 (4 players, 8 city-states, 3 natural wonders)
Small: 66 x 42 (6 players, 12 city-states, 3 natural wonders)
Standard: 80 x 52 (8 players, 16 city-states, 4 natural wonders)
Large: 104 x 64 (10 players, 20 city-states, 6 natural wonders)
Huge: 128 x 80 (12 players, 24 city-states, 7 natural wonders)
xBallAnnihilator69000x Oct 17, 2012 @ 6:50pm
how large is the map?

Doubleplusgood!
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Sep 28, 2012 @ 10:52am
If you use advanced settings you will start randomly.
Zardoz Xerxes  [author] Sep 28, 2012 @ 10:50am
@Lyra Heartstrings
Yes I know about that, but thanks for your feedback, if you look at further down this thread there are comments about it, this is why I made a scenario.
To fix your problem start the game load the mod then use the simple game set up screen to select the map, then in the simple set up screen tick use scenario (under the map). Choose where you wish to start by selecting your leader in reference to the list above or in the mod instructions.

It works great except for a couple of things, I happen to always start near Riften(no matter what the civ) and The Pale is usually left, well Pale without anyone conquering it. Other than those two, Everything works fine and looks great
