I've noticed a weird bug when you activate a Skill Book that is owned (e.g. taking it is stealing). I'm not sure why, but the book is permanently marked as stolen. As in, no amount of selling and buying back will remove it.

A simple yet helpful mod. I love it

doesn't seem to be working for me. Don't have any other book mods installed. Do have other mods (horse armour/speed, minipets, amazingfollowers) its at the end of load order, changing it around has no affect. possible an update somewhere has bugged it? will try old version and see if its any better. (tho was planning to use it for the quick no-reading-book-theiving :p)

How is this mod working now, guys'n'gals?
Fantastic idea, elGrecoLoco

I just did a fresh install and downsized my mods, but this doesn't seem to be working for me either. I do have the item sorting mods by Saige, from the Workshop.

I put this and the quest book mod at the bottom of the load order, right after the official esp's. Then I tried putting them last, after the item sorters. I had no results for either.

I am in the first dungeon where you get the Golden Claw. There is a thief skill book on the table. It is labelled and bracketed (Pickpocket) which makes me think the mod is working- but there is no option to pick it up. I've tried leaving the cell then re-entering and it didn't change. Tried without item sortering mods loaded, and still the same. I don't even use the unread book mod anymore- too much imersion breakage. Could it be the individual book placement within the cell? Thx in advance.

"I'c used this excellent mod for ages now, then all of a sudden it has stopped "working" on - some - books. Not all of the, just some?"
I have the same problem, i have book glow and i have this at the bottom of the list, always worked up till now, though i've noticed that leaving and re-entering the area with the book solves the problem (you should save before picking any book tho)
Christina Shirokova 21 jan 2015 om 4:23nm
does it work with "unread books glow"?
dustinhxc 14 dec 2014 om 6:09nm
Love it, thanks!

I think this MOD has an incompatibility with MoreHUD: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51956/

Simple and effective
elGrecoLoco  [auteur] 25 mei 2014 om 5:26nm
You can try just putting it at the bottom of your load order.
☯UrKungFuNoGood☯ 19 mei 2014 om 11:01vm
I disabled unread books glow and still wind up reading every skill book I pick up. Must be another mod conflict somewhere? Can't for the life of me figure out which one it might be. Is there a config file or settings for this mod somewhere I can check?
dimgel 18 mei 2014 om 6:29nm
Works for me together with glow mod, didn't care about load order: two mods work on different properties.
elGrecoLoco  [auteur] 18 mei 2014 om 5:39nm
It should be compatible as long as you load this mod after other book mods.
☯UrKungFuNoGood☯ 17 mei 2014 om 9:43vm
Essential. But I still wind up reading books. I am using unread books glow and have tried switch the load orders. Any suggestions? I guess I coudl disable that one by now since after 500 hours I've read almost everything... lol I'll let you know if that was the cause.
dimgel 17 apr 2014 om 7:44nm
Great mod, rated up, but next looks like a bug: it seems I can openly steal skill book without getting punished.
Cosmo666 22 mrt 2014 om 4:23vm
really useful! I always try and not read the books so I can use them at a high level, and this makes is so much easier!
WishSeeker 21 feb 2014 om 2:12vm
is this mod for all books of skyrim and its dlc's or just vanilla skyrim?
flokey 14 feb 2014 om 5:51nm
Best mod!
elGrecoLoco  [auteur] 1 feb 2014 om 6:28nm
Almost certainly, this mod doesn't affect books in your inventory at all (other than the item name), it merely intercepts books you activate in the world before you read them and moves them to your inventory instead. You may also have another book mod that is causing a problem.
Singingsox 31 jan 2014 om 8:15nm
I recently downloaded this and I'm getting worried that it isn't actually letting me get the skill. Since I downloaded it, I've found 3 skill books and none of them have been added (even after reading them in my inventory). This is the only mod I have installed, so it can't be a conflict. Did I just have bad luck and find three books I've already read?
Korsall Kaiser 28 jan 2014 om 3:01nm
Ahh, sounds useful. *nod nod* I'll just go click that somewhat big green button here...

This is really nice, but it makes me pick up the books and put them in my inventory before i can read them. Just a small problem, but i'm nit-picking. Great mod, and keep it up."

This is not a problem, it's GREAT! Stops you from gaining skills/levels in skills you don't want to use.
.:magic:. 19 jan 2014 om 1:32vm
I hate finding the same skill book all around Skyrim and not getting level-ups from it.
dlandry 5 jan 2014 om 9:02nm
Great mod! DvB14, I was having that same problem, but just realized there's a link in the description for a version of this mod that doesn't have you pick up the book automatically.

Thank talos or something like that for this beautiful addition so good
codered31881 28 dec 2013 om 7:07nm
where do you find the books
elGrecoLoco  [auteur] 26 nov 2013 om 11:44vm
It doesnt conflict per se with other book mods, as in it won't cause crashes and such, but whichever mod loads last gets precedence, i.e. the changes this mod makes will get wiped out by the other book mod if the other book mod loads after. So basically only use one or the other.
Kirbstompo 25 nov 2013 om 4:09nm
does this confilct at all with the unread books glow mod?
Hobo Jimmy 24 nov 2013 om 7:46vm
Finally, no more getting Block or some other shit i dont want, thank you so much :)

a definite bonus to the books of the game. A job well done

UPDATE PLEASE!
mbrmchll 31 jul 2013 om 8:30nm
I love this mod but it only works for some of the skills books. Is there a certain place in the load order that I should have it to keep this from happening? The only other mod I have that deals with the books is "Tamriel Compendium" and it doesn't touch the books already in the game. It just adds new ones.
ltmadden26 28 jul 2013 om 12:16vm
mbdddddddddddddddddd, where is it
skatimmy737 16 jul 2013 om 7:52nm
Where should I order this mod in relation to the glowing unread books mod?

[FEAR] ⎛⎝Moogle⎠⎞ 16 mei 2013 om 5:09nm
Can you somehow add a mod to do this for all books whether it is a skill book or not?
Endless Mobius 16 mei 2013 om 7:04vm
Never thought to save the points from books until those last few levels. Good idea. Subbed!
Firesaber 20 apr 2013 om 2:46nm
