I don't remember if I pressed any key. Probably not because I wanted to reach the button and not mess up the flight. I think I pressed the button a fraction of a second too late the first time, that makes the difference.

I just finished editing.
went over item limit, so took a while to sort.
flinging to high button in 2nd room, no longer possible.
using cube as a shield, while exiting, no longer possible.

"HA HA HA"... Although I was supposed to get saved it was the only time I died, sweet irony. :) Again I enjoyed the hell out of it. On your maps I can never be sure what happens next. It's nice being able to get surprised again after playing countless maps. I admire your style, it reminds me of Nyskrte, who was my ideal at the time I started to make the first map.

I just re-tested, as did this a long time ago.
no secret room in aha room, just your leap of faith, as in the title
& the essential pedestal button.
as for the sphere, if you forget it, re-spawn it in entrance / exit chamber.

Wow. I don't know if I did the right way but it was great. Poor turrets. Tried to find a secret room in the "Aha-Aha" room, but not. The player can be stuck if you forgot the sphere in the "sphere-button" near the lightbridge (on the top of the map). Could you try another one please from me.

once again another fun puzzle (this is the one that made the room spin the other night after I went for a drink) but i played it again...sober...and got to the exit. here are a couple of mine to look at, my newest one...i did just for a bit of fun

if you use noclip.
after entering noclip.
type & enter
this will stop you dying.
eg you can safely go through laser fields.
turrets can't kill you etc.
I some times use to look at gate systems on maps.
or to miss sections of a map I am working on & test a later chamber.

the following is how to play & record demo files.
the ability is in your steam program files already on your pc.
To play demo file

1. Unzip the .dem file
2. Put in folder "...Steam\steamapps\common\portal 2\portal2"
3. In game console put "playdemo NAMEFILE"


To record a demo file

1. In game console put "record NAMEFILE"

though I found it easier to get another software, called fraps.
I got the paid version & when I open it & am in game.
I press 1 key to record & press it again to stop, easy.
then I use windows movie maker to add text etc.
then upload to youtube.
their are probably loads of other video software, to choose from.

would be out of date.
some video's I did & then updated the map.
then the video is useless as a walkthrough.
this, & time is why I rarely do them any more.

Well, if you want help, I'm available.
With the exception of being pretty bad at solving them, I am pretty good at checking things out.
I am old enough to not have an ego so whether you take my suggestions or not, it doesn't matter... they're your maps.
My thought is this. If there's a way that I can play your maps before you publish them to the world, I could be that 2nd pair of eyes... and as soon as I learned how to make a demo of me playing, you could see what I do when I play.
Just a thought.

I make my own maps & sometimes make my own video's (but time & updates are an issue here)
people comment on my maps, which helps me.
but before publishing, I don't have any help.
I make my maps without anyones help or advice, untill published.
I test, test, test...
before I publish myself.
but I find making maps rewarding, dispite any problems,
eg item limit.

yes, their never seems enough.
I don't play as many as I would like, since I started making them :(
my list of maps to play is vast & growing.
I have a few maps under develepment.
the sphere problem I just published, I started ages ago.
but over item limit & deleting, breaking, fixing, stopping expliots.
back over item limit etc, etc..
caused much delay.
I had to leave it for a while, to take a fresh look, before completing.
would be a lot easier, without the item limit.

Completed is an over-simplification. More like Completed with LOTS of help.
As far as making more maps. I don't have time. Between playing everyone else's, writing to ask for help, reading the help, etc... I just don't have time to make my own.

you just completed 1 of my hardest maps.
besides, you use a different part of your brain to create a map.
you also will know the sollution to it, before you test.
feel free to use ideas from mine, if it helps.
experiment in the editor.
their are different types of map you can make:
easy, meduim, hard, fun, automated, maps with surprises, deadly, non-deadly.
maps with something original. etc, etc...
I like to try & have something in it, that I have not seen before.
also often a surprise. & always want an emotional response from the player.
good or bad, preferably good.
even bad comments, when constructive, help me improve the map & maybe future ones.
I always start a map with an idea in mind, then build around it.
some have come from experimenting in the editor.
someone else's map, may give me an idea or teach me about a gate system.
question things:
what if I ?...
can I do this ?...
what happens if I use these together ?...

although in testing, I found it possible to go in there & kill the turrets.
& you are right, you do need the cube.
there is a much easier way.
if mohamad can't go to the mountain (or cube) ...

It appears I was thinking incorrectly. I thought I couldn't shoot behind those turrents.
Now I am in the room with the light-bridge & I took a screen shot just in case you want to see what happened. I tried to stop a cube before it got fizzled & now it's stuck. I can't get it out and no more are coming out. Is that something normal?

if you mean past the rail platform & on the pistons:
remember how you pressed the pedestal button to get the safety sphere.
it is a recent update, so should be their next time you start portal.
Reiman pointed out it was an obscure solution.
so I put a learning update, in the 1st chamber.

I made the portal in the wrong place at the very end and could not get back inside the funnel room. I forgot I had to funnel those turrets away. But I had it. Other than my mistake that was very good. They is nothing simple about your simple turret chambers that's for sure. haha alright, that was a surprize.

as it is the entrance & exit area I presume you have not left the room yet.
if so: their is a pedestal button to get a safety sphere.
when you put it on the button, it turns off a fizzler, allowing you to portal to the higher chamber.
take it with you. & avoid the trap.

mood3rd: yes, i went through it, surprised what happened about the faith jump; didn't see the lightbridge in the darkroom first, as a horizontal line of the grate to it directly overlaps the bridge, so suddenly was surprised where the bridge appeared after shooting a portal to have a look in that dark room.
