Portal 2

Turret Bashing Bonanza!
< >
jandlml Oct 1 @ 6:52pm
after being flung up into the air by a panel one of the turrets landed on its feet so i just left it alone. haha
Calwin May 12 @ 6:24pm
I used the blue gue to remove the turrets. The last part was a little confusing, because I suspect I didn't do it the way it was supposed to be done.
IncipientCloudburst90 Nov 26, 2016 @ 12:44pm
Turret bashing is one of my favorite parts of Portal 2, so this room was awesome!
Petutski Jul 7, 2016 @ 2:57pm
Fun! Some elements not needed.
JCar May 19, 2016 @ 4:55pm
Simple and fun. Love it. Well done.

Nice map. Sad is though, that in the last room, you don't need most elements. You can use the first room's cubes and gel to clear the turrets and open the exit.
wildgoosespeeder Dec 10, 2015 @ 2:52pm
The first area with two cubes felt too trivial. One cube should be the focus of that room. The second area felt like a cheap ripoff of the turret map in the official story. The third area uses too many cubes/balls.
ghostyman719 Nov 27, 2014 @ 7:20pm
Not hard, but certainly entertaining. For once, a turret smashing level actually had points where the turrets were a threat, not just a level with turrets in it.
SquareEnixFanboy Nov 2, 2014 @ 4:49pm
Turrent is really fun, only the last room was a bit shit, I died many times from shots because I die very fast before even the panels come out, and sometimes when I try to remoev the ball off the panel it getst destroied because the panels close on it which causes the player to be vurnble to the left turrnts that will kill him in a sec...
Pinkpanties Aug 31, 2014 @ 9:32am
well done
vioray Aug 15, 2014 @ 6:31pm
nice puzzles, fun and turrets. everyone loves turrets. or killing turrets. or both
p0rtalthumper May 30, 2014 @ 4:26pm
From the title, I thought this test might be just another big turret wipeout. I am relieved to see that there is a bit of puzzle in this one.
robin_z May 27, 2014 @ 5:40pm
I enjoyed this map, thank you.
Petutski May 12, 2014 @ 7:14pm
Excellent! Great fun!
StabGami Mar 29, 2014 @ 9:46am
Fun map. Nice job.
Lepo Jan 24, 2014 @ 3:50am
Not your best map in my hopinion. There aren't any good puzzle in here, killing turrets is fun but not challenging.
Snugglebunny Jul 7, 2013 @ 8:55pm
There was a lot to do but you put it all together nicely.
Torchiest May 12, 2013 @ 6:25pm
Very cool. I really liked some of the clever design ideas, like the reversing lasers used to keep the laser catcher on after you hit both buttons.
squashmylemon Dec 6, 2012 @ 11:11pm
Amazing Turret Slaughter at the end, I loved it. Keep up the good work!
ajar Oct 13, 2012 @ 2:50am
one faith plate and button (on the wall to the right of the funnel source) too much but everything elese is just as is should be: fun and not too hard :)

Killing turrets is fun but overall a bit too straightforward. Especially in the first area I'd love it if you made the flinging a bit harder to pull off, there's a couple of obvious panels that aren't needed to solve the puzzle. Would be more challenging if you could only do it via ground-portal flings.

Just published two new maps! They are the beginning of a series I hope to do with the theme of demonstrating real physics. They are contained in the collection Aperture Physics Lab
Stratusfear Oct 5, 2012 @ 8:31pm
It's fun but I was able to get blue stuff to destroy turrets in the final room by spraying it on the floor through the glass behind them in the first room.
Sma_Omega Oct 5, 2012 @ 5:05pm
I had fun. I was able to get bouncy gel all over the final room and all of the turrets toko themselves out bouncing all over like crazy. I got out just by pressing the button a cpl of times while bouncing.
Chiscringle Oct 5, 2012 @ 3:38pm
Extraordinary turret destroying puzzle. Actually a puzzle!
Would suggest an autosave point or two.

Great work buddy!!!!

This is great! I loved playing this map! Great job!

Here: Try mine:

Positron  [author] Oct 4, 2012 @ 10:36pm
Malidictus: Neither sphere is actually supposed to fizzle, however I have noticed that they sometimes fizzle if they're next to an angled panel as it comes down. It is an uninteded consequence caused by the game's mechanics.

Innocentive: Thanks for letting me know about the exploit. I'll see if I can fix it when I have the time and energy.

Krank: Maybe I'm just being dumb, but what are the ways you managed to skip the gel? I honestly can't figure it out.
KranK Oct 4, 2012 @ 4:34pm
Map is broken. 3 different ways you can skip the gel and you don't have to do anything in the last room other than throw the cube at the button and walk in the door.
Innocentive Oct 4, 2012 @ 1:51pm
Fun map!!! I also didn't need the blue gel. Just position the cube in front of the window with the two turrets behind, then jump and shoot a portal through the (small) gap between window and fizzler.
Malidictus Oct 4, 2012 @ 9:08am
Clever, clever! The puzzle solutions are somewhat obvious, but the execution is very creative. I was going to say the "turrets in the dark" section was pointless at first, but now I realise it's misdirection. I love it. When I realised what the solution to the final puzzle was, I was impressed.

As well, the technical execution of the end is quite impressive. Speres show up to push buttons and call each other, as well as a tractor beam that has to be started by two buttons but proceeds to stay online forever. I am impressed! Incidentally, how did you get the first sphere to fizzle when it's removed from the button without having it reappear at its dispenser?

All in all, a solid though fairly easy puzzle. Well done :)

I suppose I should advertise my own, as well:
StIg Oct 4, 2012 @ 6:26am
Had to use the blue gel :) Didn't use the faith plate however... Nice and different use of spheres. Keep it up...
Gaziel [Destroyers-ITA] Oct 3, 2012 @ 11:32am
Very funny this map, but totally devoid of challenge!
Tripple-B Oct 3, 2012 @ 9:20am
i finished the map without hurting a turret :D
Alatriste Oct 2, 2012 @ 3:49pm
funny and easy
simonportal Oct 2, 2012 @ 10:57am
i usually hate turret maps but this one was nice

So much fun!
Positron  [author] Oct 1, 2012 @ 3:35pm
Thank you all for your comments! I'm also curious about how you're skipping the blue gel. Could someone post a description or video of how you did this? The water is just there for convenience in case you accidently get gel on a cube. It is not intended to be part of the puzzle. The blue gel, however, is supposed to be part of the puzzle.
RunForMiles Oct 1, 2012 @ 1:50pm
Very clever design!
Audiodef Oct 1, 2012 @ 1:41pm
This is pretty good. I'm curious to know how others solved it without the blue gel. Definitely didn't need the water.
GreenStorm Oct 1, 2012 @ 12:35pm
Good =)
.sheridan .vespo Oct 1, 2012 @ 5:43am
I didn't need the blue gel at all.

Great map. I really liked it when it went all Rube Godberg on me and started killikg turrets left and right. :-)
holmesa Sep 30, 2012 @ 4:26pm
This was OK - some uncessary items ... I have a soft spot for turrets.
BUG Sep 30, 2012 @ 12:42pm
I love turrets.good map
