Could be a bit frustrating sometimes, it could happen to repeat some tedious portal spam and cubes transportation, and i don't like the claustrophobic map design in here. But puzzle was pretty hard to solve.

I have no idea how this is supposed to be solved, I just filled the map with repulsion gel and jumped up to the end. So I played it again and found that I could just shoot a portal to the end from the "tunnel". I like maps with shortcuts, but I think the shortcuts should be harder to figure out than the real solution

Thumbs up anyway

I think this map has a bug. I solved it without using the buttom on the wall.

I think I cheated. Am I the only one who put the bouncy goo through the funnel and then just jumped up to the ledge?

This was a really good puzzle.

This puzzle was much easier for me than your permutations puzzle, in which I had to see a walkthrough video :P

Coo! Worthy of Mevious, maybe. Well, in any case, really nice map.

Near the end room you could stack the cubes so you can climb on them

Good map using the PTI editor. The chief difficulty lay in all the backtracking.
Difficulty: 7/10
Novelty: 4/10
Overall: 7/10
Thumb: up

A lot of fun in this chamber. It kept a good pace of finding new things and figuring them out, without too much penalization for wrong moves or experimentation, just the way it should. I hate maps that have you redo long tedious parts of a map for a single trial and error spot. It feels more like a chore than a reward when you get it right.

Keep up the great work! Valve should totally hire you on for portal 3, if there is one :)

Great map. :)

@Heissi Thanks for mentioning the exploit. I'll try to fix it when I get some time.
Heissi Jun 5, 2012 @ 9:08am
I found that exploit too: you can create a portal near the exit and just get the two cubes and yourself up easily - see

Good sequencing here; recommended!

Wow! Hardest test chamber I've played since some of Mevious's -- and harder than some of those. And just about the best too. The solution I found was awwwwsome. Valve really needs (1) 1-5 star ratings and not just thumbs up/down and (2) user-submitted difficulty ratings.

I'm not sure what Kariou's "broken" refers to as well. I do have a guess though: I didn't use the fact that the laser grid of death and the one fizzler were dropped by the vertical cube button. By jumping into the funnel after the cube. My read of those is that they are there so you can finish the level without redoing most of it if you accidentally fizzle your portals after getting the cube up there, and it'd be easy to figure out what to do with them, and so it's not a big deal. But if you actually intended that you take advantage of that, then there's an alternate solution you should be aware of. :-))
Warbear May 28, 2012 @ 1:10pm
Interesting, but couldn't figure out all the fizzle fields.

you've got some sweet maps man. I never find this kind of careful sequencing style puzzle frustrating, they're quick moving, and don't demand any insane dexterity. the interior felt a little cramped, wasn't as "pretty" as the puzzle deserve though.
MananTheMoon  [author] May 23, 2012 @ 11:14am
@Kariou Shomei - I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to. Can you let me know what exactly could cause the test chamber to break? I'd love to fix it.
Sun Djinn Kari May 23, 2012 @ 10:43am
The test can be broken near the end, strongly suggest working on a fix for that.

Another VALVEworthy puzzle that requires attention to both the logical sequencing of events and the need for agility in monitoring the environment for pacing your reactions. That bit of fancy talk is necessary to pay tribute without being spoilery.
dudhit May 21, 2012 @ 5:47am
was going insane, loved it. great use of seqenced fizzlers and fizzler protected portal surfaces
