This mod did not work in my game, i am a full member the Thieves Guild and own Breezehome. but no Shadow Mark so i am going to uninstall the mod unless there is a fix for this issue.

V I support this idea. Would make sense since I usually have several sets of armor and enchanted weapons.
And if you could make it so that thieves may actually try and steal from your house (like they do in-game shops) that would be awesome. Of course you would need to make it so it activates when the player is within range like the regular one ,and have it stop (or become an extremely rare occurrence) once we become members of the thieves guild..

What about adding Shadowmarks on player's homes even if the player DOESN'T join the Thieves Guild? You know, the symbol for lots of good stuff inside? That would be SO cool to see on my houses for my characters that don't want to join the Thieves Guild.

Thank you so much for this.

just thinking, should you add the "protected" shadowmark on th other corner of the door?

i love little things like this. they really make the game that much more intense to play.

Thank you so much. i agree with some of the comments in that in order to get a protected status, should require you to at least be a member of the thieves guild. perhaps too once you atain a high rank in another faction, external of the thieves guild, will subject you to having a different mark, perhaps one suggesting that your home is one to be looted. that is of course until you join the thieves guild.

I don't have Hearthfire yet. I'm sure I'll get it eventually, and when I do, I'll definitely be making an update.

Hey, do you think you could update this to include Hearthfire homes? I think it would work best if it requires you to be a member of the Guild before building the home, but then it will have Shadowmarks on it.

Lovely little mod, it always annoyed me that stupid Maven is protected but their own guld member is not. Thumbs up!

Also, I'm glad someone did this, it always struck me as odd that Bethesda would creat these shadow marks, and not incorporate them like this.

I always thought it'd be nice if after you take back a hold, a little guild hall or safe house would unlock.

oh i've always wondered what those things were and always had a suspicion they were related to the thieves guild

Now I know what that means I found that somewhere and could not find out what it was.

I'm not really interested in pursuing it. If someone else wants to try to make such a mod, I would be happy to combine my mod with theirs.

arrr you able to contact some pro about it? maybe ask someone to help you?
kryptopyr  [author] May 14, 2012 @ 3:41pm
Sorry, but I think that's beyond my modding ability. I'm not even sure how it would be done.
TheFlamingDaedra May 12, 2012 @ 8:46am
can you make a mod that make people rob you if you haven't a mark?
chknaus (N☆G) May 4, 2012 @ 8:35am
This is great! I always wondered why there were no shadowmarks on my houses.
Козёлбаран May 2, 2012 @ 4:33pm
OK, thanks for the info, and good work. I think you made the right decision.
kryptopyr  [author] May 2, 2012 @ 12:34pm
Yes, you'll need to read it again. Also, if you purchase a second house or complete one of the quests after reading the book, you'll have to re-read it to update the marks on your new home. If you then buy a 3rd house, you'll have to read the book again.

The reason I chose to do it this way, is that I didn't want to have a script constantly running in the background in order to check the status of the quests & which homes were currently owned. Also, I didn't want to modify the existing quests in any way and possibly cause conflicts with other mods. So my solution was to simply attach the script to the book and have the game only run the check when you read the book.

What if you already finished the quests and read "Shadowmarks" before installing the mod? Do you need to read "Shadowmarks" again or do the marks appear on your home(s) automatically upon installation?

Did you read my mind? I JUST thought about this last night "Oh it would be nice if my homes had marks for 'protected'" and BAM hahaha. Thanks!

Nice bit of added flavour, cheers.
