if there are any translators for french, spanish and italian i would be glad if they could support translating the game. this contains about 600 phrases and some scenario descriptions.

Bonjour bientot le grand jour (octobre).Un tutorial sera présent dans le jeu? Et combien coutera le jeu à sa sortie?
Foraning Sep 9, 2015 @ 12:06pm
I'm sorry for my scepticism. I'm just a bit blown away by all I see. A little bit of heaven coming my way, already in october! I will certainly buy it.
keppelmueller  [author] Sep 9, 2015 @ 11:20am
Hi Foraning!

Thanks for your feedback! You are right, it is very hard to do that project alone. I have been working for more than 3 years now on that game. Surely you cannot expect graphical effects shown in <Empire Total War> but I am sure you will be delighted about game depth and the wide range of game options. I will post another video within the next days showing current graphics status and ui functions.

The game is currently in beta phase, which means there is still a lot of work to do, a lot of bugs to fix. But even after the scheduled release in October I am planning to implement as many user feedbacks as possible, as I already did in the alpha testing phase.

Please follow the news and updates on my homepage: www.thesevenyearswar.com
Foraning Sep 9, 2015 @ 9:47am
My god. This game is what I've been looking for since Empire Total War turned out to be such a dissapointment. However, I'm still a bit sceptical about one person pulling all this off. I mean there is so much in your game a Total War game or EU4 is put to shame. Maybe graphics , ui or ai will turn out lackluster.
Blucher007 Aug 7, 2015 @ 7:46am
Your game looks great. I cannot wait to play it. As ever if you need a Beta tester!!
keppelmueller  [author] Aug 7, 2015 @ 7:24am
ok thanks for your input, i will do my best to implement fow in campaign mode!
Blucher007 Aug 7, 2015 @ 4:10am
I think fog of war is critical as it would, depending on your thoughs how to replicate it in the game, force people to dispers divisions or garrions to picket routes and then armys will need to concentrate to fight battles, would allow for feints and force people to balance armys better. I think that might go towards reflecting the period.
keppelmueller  [author] Aug 7, 2015 @ 3:28am
the advantage of simple cavalry divisions in campaign mode is faster movement and a larger action radius which improves its abilities on looting and cutting off enemy supply lines like it was done in the so called small war which was brought to perfection by austrian generals. fog of war is not implemented yet. i may add this feature a bit later. ideas on that are welcome!
Blucher007 Aug 7, 2015 @ 1:06am
Will armies have improved reconnaissance if they have light cavalry units in the force? So I guess I'm asking will their be some system of reconnaissance and how will that affect the deployment of forces in the tactical battles?
keppelmueller  [author] Jul 6, 2015 @ 11:20pm
keppelmueller  [author] Jun 9, 2015 @ 6:25am
unit limits: there is a limit of 500 regiments per battle. each regiment consists of up to 1500 soldiers where one sprite represents between 10 and 50 soldiers (this should be scaleable in the option menu). everything depends on your cpu. the battle of kolin (see video tutorial 3) runs smooth so far with about 100 regiments, 100k soldiers and 20 soldiers per sprite.

entrenchments: artillery and infantry can build entrenchments while in battle mode. this takes time, so it is only useful if the enemy reaches the battlefield later. entrenchments raise cover and defense values at the cost of movability. in campaign mode forts can be used to protect certain regions, they have to be besieged like cities. i will soon publish a tutorial video about sieges where you have to build trenches and artillery positions to come closer to the fort wall...
Blucher007 Jun 8, 2015 @ 11:35pm
Have you a system for armys to build entrenchments?
[TWC]Stradar Jun 8, 2015 @ 6:38pm
Looking forward to Beta Wants this game badly!!
[TWC]Stradar Jun 8, 2015 @ 6:37pm
About the unit limit so we are looking at around 50k to 100k Soldiers maximum perside I like it... Hope one day Ill be able to mod this to make it where we can get somewhere near 150k to 200k perside :P its just somthing I love doing Huge Battles!!
er.correge Jun 4, 2015 @ 8:27am
Beau jeu avec une grande map.Et de plus en langue française. Bien......
keppelmueller  [author] May 31, 2015 @ 12:06am
yes. you can improve your supply depots in your provinces to gain more supply trains or research technologies to upgrade capacity or speed. the range of supply trains is limited to the local and neighbour province so you have to plan your offensives step by step. by looting enemy terrain your divisions can supply themselves for a short period of time at the cost of filling enemy recruiting ranks and local damage...
Blucher007 May 28, 2015 @ 10:29pm
This game just keeps looking better and better. Like how you have forced army's to only concentrate for battle and then must disperse for supply reasons. Will there be an option to build a supply train/depot to make concentrating a force easier for slightly longer times so you can go on the offensive for a month or two with slightly larger forces?
keppelmueller  [author] May 17, 2015 @ 10:57am
well there are no penalties but your divisions have to be supplied with food and ammo. every province has only limited supply capacity (depending on the market buildings) - so you have to scatter your divisions as good as possible or use looting features.

your divisions start on the real map positions in a some kind of zoomed in battle mode. so if divisions are far away they will need longer to participate in the battle which gives your opponents the opportunity of fast actions...
The Young Napoleon May 17, 2015 @ 4:49am
Damn thats a lot more than I was expecting.

Are there penalties to having several divisions close by?
keppelmueller  [author] May 16, 2015 @ 11:11pm
concerning unit limits: there is a limit of 5 divisions per fraction participating in battles which could lead to a battle of a maximum of 250 regiments (max 5 brigades per division and 5 regs per brigade).
The Young Napoleon May 16, 2015 @ 3:11pm
Congratulations on getting greenlit!

Having watched the army interface video I have a question. Is there a maximum number of divisions that can participate in a single battle?
[TWC]Stradar May 10, 2015 @ 12:56pm
Would be great thanks for the awnsers :) u really keep up with us that is what I like about a developer and you have talent my friend!! Cant wait to try out the Beta ill be one of many to buy take my money please hahahhah
keppelmueller  [author] May 9, 2015 @ 10:22pm
as my primary focus is on game depth i try to finish single player first. mp is not included in the first version. i may add this feature in following versions or on an add on like empire <-> napoleon. ideas on that are welcome!
[TWC]Stradar May 9, 2015 @ 6:40pm
I also hope MP is planned for this game as well if not I understand but hope so it makes it in...
[TWC]Stradar May 9, 2015 @ 6:34pm

[TWC]Stradar May 5, 2015 @ 4:19pm
Very very nice thanks for the screen shot!!
Yggdrasil May 5, 2015 @ 2:53am
In some ways, the game reminds me of a vastly updated (in every way) Imperialsim I and II. I hope this gets greenlit. I'd like to throw my money at it :)
keppelmueller  [author] May 4, 2015 @ 9:52pm
well stradar, here you are (one additional screenshot added):
historical charts and country comparisons about the following topics:
population, happiness, unemployment, income level, productivity, research, treasury, trade, army size, fleet size
[TWC]Stradar May 4, 2015 @ 4:57pm
Come on guys vote vote vote get this bad ass game greenlit!!! Also I have a question will this game have a Ledger and chars like army sizes and such??? I love charts for games like this!!
Yggdrasil May 1, 2015 @ 11:10pm
This is a must have. Steam needs more strategic games with historic themes. I really like the way battles are implemented.
Royal Fusilier Apr 25, 2015 @ 6:35am
Did someone say beta this summer!
keppelmueller  [author] Apr 25, 2015 @ 12:26am
thanks for your offer! i will publish information about possible beta testing in july/august where the first beta version should be available.
Blucher007 Apr 24, 2015 @ 8:08am
Sounds brilliant. Need a Beta tester?
keppelmueller  [author] Apr 24, 2015 @ 7:59am
thx blucher for your interest; i think nearly all of your ideas are already implemented:
- units can gain experience through battles or maneuvers
- maneuvers can be held in peacetime but reduce morale and ammo stock
- battle losses reduce experience but some experienced wounded come back to service depending on the health installation of the province
- reinforcements which are normaly green units have to be "shipped" to the field armies by supply trains (which can also be cut off) as well as food and ammo
- prisoners can be exchanged in diplomacy mode, this increases the experience of your reinforcements
- you can recruit in neighbour provinces which reduces diplomacy relations but increases your recruiting potential; especially in the last years of war the prussian army was less experienced and consisted of mercenaries of all over europe

and many more....
Blucher007 Apr 24, 2015 @ 2:00am
I am really interested in unit experience and how it affects units and if casualties begin to degrade that experience? I have read that Fredericks Army in the initial phase of the war benefited from the superior training system of the Prussian Army. Though casualties and faster training degraded this standard. I would be a real fan of units getting better at fighting over time but penalised for them taking heavy casualties. That would make players more conservative with units, realism but fairly simple to model. The war commanders of the war preferred manoeuvre, only Frederick liked battle which suited his circumstance and aggressive personality. Will replacements be sent directly to units from training depots and could players be allowed to commit time to training those replacements? Guess your losing the war when three week recruits arrive in units to restore the situation you will miss the old regulars with years of training. Just ideas, looks a great game.

This looks great, I really hope the interface is made reasonably simple to make the game flow more easily. The flow of the game from strategic to operational and finally tactical really appeals. I would buy this game.

good game
Dolan Mar 30, 2015 @ 3:30am
Looks good !
The Young Napoleon Mar 18, 2015 @ 7:15am
Its almost like what Empire Total War should have been...
Royal Fusilier Mar 17, 2015 @ 12:43pm
This all sounds so excellent!
keppelmueller  [author] Mar 17, 2015 @ 11:20am
good points! already implemented is looting in enemy terretories which leads to less supply needs but civilian unrest which leads again to higher voluntary recruits in this province (if it belongs to the enemy or lower growth if it becomes your own).

one nice feature is that some wounded come back to action, depending on the health conditions of the local province. but i will add desertion to my list because it was an important topic during this war...
