Hey, IndieMadHatter, I'm preparing a new trailer that will show more combat footage.

To answer your question, there'll be plenty of combos to perform, as well as 4 spiritual energy-based special attacks.

is it possible to get a visual on the combat? Aesthetically its very pleasing but Id like to know if the combat is just a linear one button input or if there is combos and specials to be added, very nice work so far though, specially for a one man project

I want to like this I really do. But I can't help but notice how amateur the art is when it's clearly trying not to be. The perspectives are hilariously off for the backgrounds. Unless the world is curved upwards inception-style. And the stiff looking poses of some of the characters just rubs me the wrong way. The protagonist looks great, but spend more time on the rest. Some of it looks like child drawings that were colored/shaded by an adult. Either way, I see some promise if this is looked into. Looking forward to seeing some gameplay.

Looks like a cool game, but I'm iffy on this one. I reccomend focusing on the gameplay, as that's what this platformer seems it's based on. Otherwise, I'm excited to see what this game will turn out to be.

Rodbow15, the goal is makign a technical combat system. Not as complicated as the one that you're describing, that would fit in a 2D fighting game like Street Fighters. but a system that would allow you to attack, guard, counter-attack, evade, deflect, perform several combo-hits in a row, and master up to 4 different main weapons and 3 range weapons.

That, alongside with the focus in exploration, the platforming challenges scattered all over the huge game world, and the storytelling should make a fine package that I hope you'll enjoy.

A lot can go wrong with 2D side-scrollers that'll make this just another generic 2D side-scroller. The art style is probably the best thing about the project so far but just art alone won't sell many copies. I think you need to give this game a deep 60fps combat system, not just mash attack buttons but an actual combo system. Launchers, guard breaks, air combos, parrying, projectiles, dodging, cancelling, tech cancelling, special attacks...etc That alone would put this game above the others. I'd take a fun game over a pretty one any day.
