Doesn't appeal. Seems like your generic 90's point n' click.

I guess I have yet to see a point and click that really requires skill. I mostly enjoy either sandbox creative building games (example: Minecraft) or games that I can get better and better at to progress (example: Spelunky). This part does sound interesting: "Learn REAL survival skills that you can carry over into the real world, like building a campfire, knife, rope and much more in the wild. " The rest of it sounds like every other point and click adventure. The random mini-puzzles that are recycled throughout these types of games are so old and dull that I lose all motivation to continue, even if the story initially interested me. I hope yours are fresh. I would give a demo a chance.

@Moot Zarell We are planning on adding a female character as well, the character model was rigged to be able to interchange the individual pieces for a female character. Possibly some alternate puzzle solutions for the character as well, to add a bit of replay-ability.

It was not included in the original version because of time constraints but we should have her out well before the Steam launch.

@@Kurb_Stomper contd...
We have tried to address all these major issues in the game - all of the item puzzles are designed around real survival skills and are intended to be completely logical, exactly as they would be in the real world. To keep a player from getting stuck, there is a full context sensitive hint system, something that added a lot to translation costs but we feel has really been a help to keep players of all levels moving ahead in the game without getting frustrated. Lastly there are mini-puzzles and mini-games at regular intervals to keep the player involved and to keep the gameplay from seeming repetitive.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback and for visiting the page!

@Kurb_Stomper Understandable, everyone has their own tastes and preferences, but point and clicks generally appeal to people looking for a slower, less stressful experience than say a Platformer, FPS or RTS, where time and reflexes are a major factor and one is practically afraid to blink! The draw in point and clicks on the other hand tends to be enjoying the graphics, story and locations for themselves, and that "Eureka!" moment after pondering a puzzle or dead end for a while.

One of the reasons many modern gamers get bored with point and clicks is getting stuck at a point and not having the patience to think up or getting any enjoyment from thinking up a solution. With so many games and experiences on the market, people don't always have the time to bother with tedious dead ends anymore. This was worse in some classic point and clicks from the 80s and 90s, with illogical puzzles that sometimes required pretty much luck and random combinations of items ... contd.

Do I have to be male? Do I have to adhere to society's cookie cutter gender constructs?
Kurb_Stomper Jul 6, 2014 @ 6:19am
I don't understand the appeal of point and click adventure games. Unless there is a comical element, it usually is an instant turn off. I played Deponia for 5 minutes, chuckled a couple times, then got annoyed at the play mechanics and the repeated dialogue.

Hi @Lord_Josh,

Yes we definitely plan on doing Simplified Chinese localisation. We will also possibly add Traditional Chinese, Thai, Dutch, Greek and Malay / Indonesian.

We already have 13 major languages covered (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Polish, and Romanian), and plan on adding most of the remaining major ones before release.
Dat Other Josh Jun 2, 2014 @ 4:46am
Can U support simplify Chinese?
