Yeah it's an artifact of the script used to rename them - they stop stacking.

I like being able to drop them because for some reason they don't stack properly in my inventory. i'll have a stack of three or four, but the rest are individualy listed.

When the stones are quest items they do not contribute to your weight limit (despite the value you see in the menu). Installing this mod makes them droppable but also gives them weight they didn't previously have.

For some reason the other (non-droppable) quest markers mod didn't work for me, but this did. I just wanted to say how helpful this was. I was at 12 stones and had given up hope at ever not having that huge list of stones clutting my inventory. Thank you. :)

really all i want to do, is be able to drop the 5 or so unusual gems i have into a chest, forever, and never have to deal with them again. I'm not going to join thieves guild this time around.
Would this let me simply let me do just that? i dont need quest markers. All i have is 'take to an appriaser' quest, and since i havent done that pickpocketing thing for Brynhoff either, Maul doesnt even say anything to me.

Really? I would be very surprised if that were the case, since the only thing it changes are the quest markers for the No Stone Unturned quest, and their "quest object" flag.

@ShadowDragon42: The game's quest markers are known to be glitchy anyway. They are probably conflicting in some unexpected and stupid way.

I love this mod, but I've noticed a big problem with it. Some in-game quest markers are broken when the Stones of Barenziah markers are active in the Journal. When I disable it, the missing markers show up. For example, I have a Bedlam job for the Thieves guild right now and I'm standing in front of the door for where it is. With the Stones quest active, my bedlam job doesn't show the marker. If I disable it, my bedlam job's marker shows up.

Is there any way to fix this? Or is there a limitation to the number of active markers?

When they are quest itmes, their weight is not counted - try dropping everything you are carrying but them. The same goes for all quest items.
With this mod, however, they ACTUALLY WILL have 0.5 weight each.

In my game version the stones have always had weight - 0,5 each. I checked your previous version of the mod to see if there was a reference to their weight there, but found none. Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I actually liked this iteration of the Thieves guild better. Oblivion was Robin Hood and was basically just offered fences and a questline. A kick-ass questline, true, but after you were done, that was it. This Thieves guild is very mob, organized crime. It's not just thievery, it's extortion, bribery, so many aspects of making illegal coin.

@cabalion13: Do you have all the updates for the game installed? One of the updates moved the embassy stone - you can look up its location if the marker doesn't lead you there correctly.

Stack? I don't think they stack - the not-stacking is because the quest RENAMES them from "Unusual Gem" to "Stone of Barenziah" - that process breaks the stacking. This mod just allows you to unload them elsewhere so they clutter up some container instead of your inventory.

Yeah. The thieves guild in Oblivion was actualy kinda virtuous and interesting ... I didn't like this iteration.

Will do! I mean seriously, who does those quests?? I have no prob killing bandits and necromancers in the wild, but extorting money from decent, hard working, folk by threatening their children and breaking their prized vase... not cool. :-\

Fantastic! Love the combined mod. Is there a way to set your friendliness with the theives guild, without doing their quests. I'd like to be able sell stolen goods to them, and collect and off-load stones of barenziah to them, but I HAE doing their quests. Their kinda a group of *insert your own explicitives here*... :)

I didn't have any issues using it with Better Quest Objectives.
Though after adding "Open Cities of Skyrim" it doesn't work anymore, even after removing that mod.....
