The blue one? That's the Ves armour from the Blue Stripes Elite mod. I got it off the Nexus. No idea if it's on Steam Workshop too.

"help dahar" tells you all 4 ids, including the ever important first 2 digits, for your current mod load order. Yay for skyrim making that easier than ever, really. Just use the ids verbatim in player.additem and there you go, genuine Klingon bat'leths are beamed down to you from a cloaked bird of prey in orbit :p

What is the base ID?

Oh yes, that was one thing that never got old for me.

BTW, get the Dance Of Death mod if you didn't already.

jagdtiger  [author] Dec 17, 2013 @ 6:09am
Heh. Probably just someone trying to be funny. I'm not aware of Klingons even having a bird even remotely similar to a chicken, or mentioning one on screen. So, yeah, it would be strange to have a proverb about an animal you don't have, isn't it?

Plus, you may have noted that all alien animals ever mentioned on screen are made to sound more exotic. E.g., Romulans don't have an eagle on their ships and banner, they have a raptor. Klingons don't hunt boars, they hunt targs. (And keep some as pets.)

Even when some animal does have an earth-like name, it has some alien sounding adjective as part of it. E.g., gree worm, grishnar cat. And/or by some planet of origin. E.g., Arcturian dog bird.

The purpose, after all, is to have a SF show with lots of references to alien planets and cultures. You don't think they'd actually make the Klingons mention chickens, right? :p
Argus (Not an impawstor!) Dec 16, 2013 @ 10:38pm
Excellently done. Also the Klingon Bat'leth is pretty similar to Vol'jin Darkspear's glaive. Star Trek and WoW. Win/Win for me. :D

not too familiar with Klingon lore so maybe you can answer this one, i am aware the quote "At least I have chicken" is attributed to Leeroy Jenkins, but I've recently seen it attributed as "ancient Klingon proverb". This a real thing or was it just a troll?

Oh ok
jagdtiger  [author] Nov 9, 2013 @ 10:26am
As far as the game is concerned, it IS a sword. The axe discussion was just about what it would have taken to make it be held differently. So basically I COULD have made it an axe, but I didn't.
Ulquiorra Nov 9, 2013 @ 10:20am
Renekton lol :P
smtm11 Nov 9, 2013 @ 9:47am
*Still
smtm11 Nov 9, 2013 @ 9:46am
So basiclly its a axe and not a sword. The reason why Im saying this is because I said "This...sword mod looks...... AWESOME!" 2 hours ago. still, I like axes:)
jagdtiger  [author] Nov 9, 2013 @ 7:50am
Well, you are correct. The problem is that the alternative is to use an axe animation, which looks even more wrong. The hands are much wider on the grip of 2h axes in Skyrim than in NV, so it would be held pretty much by both ends of the grip. But more importantly:

A. then it would sit even higher on the shoulder. In fact, you'd have most of the bat'leth above your shoulder.

B. then it would have the axe killmoves instead of the sword ones

C. Even most of those axe killmoves would look wrong, as it wouldn't be swung wide enough to actually connect with someone's neck when beheading them

D. the animations would make it look like it wouldn't connect other than at 1 ft range from your enemy even in normal combat

E. You wouldn't see much of it in first person

So, unfortunately, I had to make the choice of whether I publish it with all those problems, or make it a sword instead. I think it being held like for a killmove is the lesser evil, basically.
Lord_of_the_Bacon Nov 9, 2013 @ 7:24am
I'll be that guy...I'm sorry....but....but.... it's being held wrong. It bothers me more than it should, but the only reason one should have their hands in that position is if you are going for a kill move. v_v

This...sword mod looks...... AWESOME!
jagdtiger  [author] Nov 8, 2013 @ 5:25pm
Heh, funny but nah. The term "dahar master" was introduced in DS9 "Blood Oath", and appears in a couple of other episodes too. It's never fully explained, but it's clear from the reactions of everyone else that it means a legendary warrior.
Radeck® Nov 8, 2013 @ 1:30pm
Dahar of Sheldon ? :O
jagdtiger  [author] Nov 8, 2013 @ 1:15am
Well, I might add more sometime, but lately I have rather little time and a huge backlog of other stuff, so it might not be too soon.
TheGremlinMan Nov 7, 2013 @ 9:56pm
What's funny about this mod is that I had the same idea at work and was thinking "It would be so cool to have a bat'leth as a weapon in Skyrim." So then I log on and find out someone else was thinking the same thing, except has both the time and talent to do it!
As a side note, I found a site that shows other kinds of Klingon blades you might like to use someday:
http://web.missouri.edu/~heivilinj/ST-RPG/klingon-weapons.pdf
jagdtiger  [author] Nov 7, 2013 @ 5:17pm
@river10: just go to the nearest smithy and forge whichever of the 4 minor variations you like. You will need steel smithing, steel, leather strips, and a bar of corundum.

Think of it as: there is no reason for anyone in Skyrim to make a bat'leth, but there's nothing to stop your character from getting a vision and forging his own unique sword, like Kahless himself did with his bat'leth.

Or just bring up the console, type "help dahar" (without the quotes) and do a
player.additem XXXXXXXX 1
to get one dropped in your inventory. Where XXXXXX is the hex number it showed you when you didn the help command.

Mind you, I'd still recommend getting the steel smithing perk anyway, because it makes improving it at the grindstone much more effective. I.e., you can end up with a deadlier bat'leth that way. But if you just can't be bothered to fit that in your build, just use player.additem
jagdtiger  [author] Nov 7, 2013 @ 5:11pm
I had briefly pondered both the Sword Of Kahless and a modern bat'leth. I went with this made-up transitional form instead pretty much

A. because I like to use my own creativity and subjective tastes at least a bit (that's also why I make no modern standardized guns),

B. because the smaller grip in the middle of that one would need it to stay even higher on the back, given Skyrim's animations. And you see people are already finding this one weird.

C. because I wanted it to fit the animations of both Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas (or Fallout 3.) Yeah, versions for FO3 and NV exist on the Nexus too. Look at it in third person in Skyrim, then in New Vegas, then do a block in third person in New Vegas. The 3 positions of the hands give you exactly the 4 ends of the two grips, for example. There is no way to make that work for both games for the Sword Of Kahless or a modern bat'leth without either getting a hand clipping through metal, or making it much larger than in the actual series.
