IR: Nutcracker is out of steam keys - I have received no reply to my Desura mail, a request from IR themselves or the three direct emails (the route this forum suggests to use). When will more steam codes be distributed and what's up with the lack of support?
Frogdice  [author] Aug 16, 2014 @ 10:47am

You can get it now! :)
Smecken! Aug 16, 2014 @ 6:25am

Thanks for being patient! :)

Just a question for the devs. Are there Steam keys for people who bought DoE from Indiegamestand on the horizon? Thanks :)

My Dad Upvoted this earlier today because he discovered this game when he saw it for sale on Humble Bundle. I Favorited this a long time ago, but I'm now Upvoting it too, because I like the looks of it, and want to see it on Steam. Good luck!
Frogdice  [author] May 16, 2014 @ 11:26am
Thank you Dr. Fruitcake. We were really bummed that we didn't make the most recent batch of games that were Greenlit. But I seriously appreciate your post.

EVERYONE READING THIS: Please help us spread the word. Please help us get the vote out!

I think we are very, very close to cresting over the edge and getting Greenlit.
Dr Fruitcake May 16, 2014 @ 10:48am
This game looks wonderful. RPGs and puzzle games are the best genres and Dr Mario is just timeless. Also, those pets are super cute. Can't wait to see this get Greenlit!
Frogdice  [author] Apr 18, 2014 @ 8:25am

Our other game on here, ReignMaker was greenlit last month and launches soon. Hopefully Dungeon of Elements will get on Steam soon as well. :)

Thanks for your support Ragewind. And thanks for taking the time to share your views and opinions. Passionate fans are what we want. :)
Frogdice  [author] Apr 4, 2014 @ 9:24pm
@Ragewind: I appreciate your feedback. We don't add things to our games with the goal of pissing people off.

Ultimately, the fun of the feature wasn't worth the occasional person blowing it out of proportion. That's why we removed it. The publicity factor was basically ZERO. It was part of what we called "pseudo multiplayer." People could see their friends earn achievements over twitter, beat bosses, set new record times, etc.

The +1% to loot drops was a very tiny "hey, thanks" for any possibly publicity we would receive.

Consider that the net effect of this was as little as someone who cleared 99 levels would have as much total loot as if you did 100 levels. That's it.

Every ~17 hours or so of gameplay, they got a 10 minute bonus. That's it.

Ragewind Apr 4, 2014 @ 11:16am
Continued -- Part 2/2
Enough of the negativity though. I understand it is not easy to gain recognition and publicity as an indie developer, unless you belong to the small group of lucky ones. But I would hope that positive word of mouth and a few let's plays on youtube would benefit you far more than twitter spam. Of course, a good product helps as well, but you've got that - and that is what should be remembered of this matter.

Good luck getting greenlit, I believe your game is certainly worth playing and I hope your arrival on Steam will go hand in hand with a nice leap in sales.
Ragewind Apr 4, 2014 @ 11:15am
Part 1/2
You may be right, but I don't think that is how most people see it, including me. One reason I like indie games is that most of them don't push useless stuff on me. You don't need semi-permanent access to my twitter (and nobody wants to read these tweets either). I'm buying indie, because (among other reasons) I want a standalone product without any interdependencies to other services.

Maybe calling it blackmail was not deserved, but I would have felt less cheated if this whole twitter thing was explicitly stated at some place where you would see it immediately (digging a few pages deep into comments does not count). Also, it would have been different if the reward was something else, a nice gimmick, a cool pet or whatever. But interfering with the core game mechanics no matter how slightly will always leave people alienated, especially if it's a permanent boost we're talking about.
Frogdice  [author] Apr 3, 2014 @ 2:32pm
Ragewind: This has been discussed below. It was an incredibly tiny loot boost. +1%. That's it.

We removed it a few patches ago simply because we were sick of people complaining about it. Try to do something nice and fun, and get punished for it.

It wasn't blackmail. It was a thank you to people who helped promote the game. That's it.

I really think people should try looking at it from a perspective other than "someone got something I can't get."
Ragewind Mar 30, 2014 @ 10:42am
I bought the game outside of steam, but I have to state that I really and strongly dislike the fact that you're blackmailing those who support you (= us) to link this game to a Twitter account for the promise of getting better loot.

Not everybody has or uses a Twitter account, does that make them less good customers? It would be decent to offer the same benefits without Twitter integration as well.
Frogdice  [author] Feb 22, 2014 @ 11:57pm
Thanks @spoon_si4!

Glad you are enjoying it @Raav!
Raav Feb 9, 2014 @ 10:49pm
Bought and played this game today on Desura. A great concept. I really dig the mix of puzzle, arcade, and RPG. Fun fantasy story line is also nice.
I definitely think this game has some great potential and looks like a lot of room for growth. I am having fun with the game.
N1njA Feb 7, 2014 @ 3:50pm
vote+ ++++ because of the stupid ios comment, have you played this game? well then please STFU!
Frogdice  [author] Feb 1, 2014 @ 10:19pm
@Ultimate Fantasy @syky_finisher Thank you so much :).

@legofan94: not an iOS game by any stretch of the imagination. Check out some of the live streams on Twitch and youtube videos of gameplay:

Looks awesome! ios can work well for pc if it's done right, so nevermind the nay-sayers. Upvoted!
syky_finisher Jan 26, 2014 @ 3:11am
I think I'll love this game.
legofan94 Jan 25, 2014 @ 11:48am
Please keep iOS games off greenlight. not intereested
Rakanishu Jan 23, 2014 @ 12:45am
I have to admit that I find the design a bit ugly, but the game seems very fun! You have my vote, sir ^^
Frogdice  [author] Jan 15, 2014 @ 11:49pm
@Scorcher24: That rocks. I'll pass that along to our programming team. Thanks for the link.

We love stuff like that so I know we'll go nuts on achievements and stuff like that.

We are really grinding hard to get Greenlit. When it happens, we are going to jump in with both feet and make the absolute most of it. :)
Scorcher24 Jan 15, 2014 @ 11:42pm
Frogdice  [author] Jan 15, 2014 @ 11:22pm
@Scorcher24: Dungeon of Elements has something like 60+ achievements in game. We haven't seen the Steam API yet for achievements, but knowing our team I am pretty certain we will crush some Steam Achievements (and if allowed, trading cards). :)
Alocer Jan 15, 2014 @ 7:26am
Voting from IGS. Looks interesting.
Static Butcher Jan 14, 2014 @ 5:58pm
Game looks intriguing, checking it out on IGS, here's to you getting greenlit - got my vote.
Scorcher24 Jan 14, 2014 @ 5:23pm
Are you gonna add achievements and trading cards on release?
Frogdice  [author] Jan 13, 2014 @ 9:09pm
Pumpkin_Masher: I've never seen that happen, but check this thread for how to report bugs and I'll make sure the lead programmer investigates:
Pumpkin_Masher Jan 13, 2014 @ 3:44am
I think it's mostly deliberate, I just miss some of the slick rotations I used to do in Dr Mario, aka rotating a pill into a stack as you pass through a small gap.

Also has anyone else had a bug during boss fights where you beat the boss and everything vanishes from the level but the level doesn't end? I've had to quit and lose progress twice so far due to this.
Frogdice  [author] Jan 12, 2014 @ 11:01pm
Regarding the rotation feedback:

1) Our capsules rotate around one half of the capsule which is the pivot point. This is the half that starts off as the left half of the capsule.

2) The capsules have collision detection, and don't let you rotate them in a way that would require the other half to rotate through walls or other physical objects. This is in large part because the terrain of the dungeons is an important part of the challenge of the various levels.

3) You *CAN* rotate capsules that are against walls, but only if you rotate it in the direction that would spin the capsule AWAY from the wall.

=> If your pill is against the right wall, you can rotate it counter clockwise (W or UP ARROW).
=> If your pill is against the left wall, you can rotate it clockwise (by default this key is undefined, but you can set it in the options).

Or am I totally misunderstanding and you are talking about something else? :)
Frogdice  [author] Jan 12, 2014 @ 11:01pm
FIRST: Thanks so much for your support. I am glad you are enjoying the game.

SECOND: I want to make sure I understand the capsule rotation feedback. We are happy to make improvements to the UI if something feels off. That is unless it is something we did deliberately as part of the challenge of the game. :)

LongHairedThrasher Jan 12, 2014 @ 2:40pm
Got this on IndieGameStand, and I'm liking it more than I thought I would. I'm not quite sure about the role-playing elements yet, but the puzzle game bit is pretty solid, and it has a fun atmosphere. Pill rotation could be improved a bit, as others have noted, but overall I quite enjoy it. Gonna go play it some more now, but you've got my vote.
Pumpkin_Masher Jan 12, 2014 @ 2:49am
This was a pleasant find. I played the HELL out of Dr Mario on my nintendo as a kid and this really brings back the nostalgia.

My only peeve so far after playing for a bit is the inability to rotate blocks when they are against the wall and a few small oddities like that. Great game though!
CHiDvD | Thrive Jan 12, 2014 @ 2:29am
Thanks for Feedback, i will spread the word. GL
Frogdice  [author] Jan 12, 2014 @ 2:09am
CHiDvD: That is because we are not Greenlit yet. Once we are Greenlit then we can give out Steam keys to everyone. :)

I should also clarify that for IGS, you have to pay at least $1 to get the Desura key and the Steam Key when we are Greenlit.

We need a couple thousand more votes so please help spread the word.

Thanks everyone!
