I've had this mod for quit a while and I love it. But every time I create a character, it has an iron helmet on no matter what type of head covereing I choose. Am I doing something wrong? It's hard to see the hair and nose with the helmet on. I have a hair mod. Could this be the problem?

chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 17 apr @ 10:55pm
Nukem962001: That actually is a possibility, and a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion!

Would it be possible to add an option for time of day to start my game at? If so would you be willing to add that feature to the mod?

The only thing killing a dragon will do is start the main quest when you absorb the soul. The best way to test out changes to the mod is to start a new game, obviously, but most problems are the result of a wrong load order.

Any changes you make to dragons in the Skyrim Unbound MCM should have immediate effect, meaning that if you turn on walls and spawns and then switch back to staggered, it will remove dragons and re-initiate the delay system I scripted. As for non-Dragonborn shouts, you generally have to fast-travel away from a word wall and back again for it to kick in.

But yes, a lot of information is in the change notes and discussions tabs.
YamiMarik1994 15 apr @ 2:36pm
Once again, I'm an idiot. Deleted my last comment because I went to Falkreath and screwed around, then a dragon spawned. Don't know what changed this time, had to be because I killed the dragon at Bonestrewn Crest.
YamiMarik1994 15 apr @ 2:15pm
Nevermind, I'm an idiot, I should be reading the change notes and discussion tabs. Sorry for all the trouble, I'm not at all used to using the Steam Workshop.
YamiMarik1994 15 apr @ 1:45pm
Okay, after some testing, I've run into another issue. I still have Words and Spawns set, and I have the spawn time for dragons set to 1 day in between with Timing is Everything, set my timescale to what you did, and nothing is happening; no dragons or anything are spawning. Because I had Staggered Delay on for so long, do I have to kill a dragon at a Word Wall first to get the random spawns to trigger? The game is a lot more boring without the dragons around.
YamiMarik1994 15 apr @ 5:59am
Okay, thank you, I figured that's how it worked. Thank you for putting so much hard work into this mod.
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 14 apr @ 11:25pm
The staggered delay works in accordance with the parameters set in the extra options menu. I tested it by hanging out at a word wall and then setting the timescale to something like 50000. It first turns on word wall dragons, then eventually random dragon spawns.

The "walls and spawns" setting turns on both automatically. You'll get dragons at word walls and random dragon attacks. Nothing in the mod directly affects the way the random dragon attacks work so it's fully compatible with others that do, like Deadly Dragons or Timing is Everything.

In order for a non-Dragonborn player to learn shouts, you simply check the "non-Dragonborn shouts" option in the main MCM menu.
YamiMarik1994 14 apr @ 10:13pm
That was it. Fixed when updated. Now I do have one other question related to the recent version of this mod and how it handles the dragons. I assumed the new Delay features you added worked the same way as the previous versions and as such, having it set to "Walls and Spawns" would have the Word Walls active so you could get the power words; I can see this wasn't the case, although the MCM description is sparse on the details (The description here hasn't been updated to reflect these changes as far as I can see), so I had it set to Staggered Delay and just went with it.

Well, after having gone almost a month in-game without seeing one dragon, I did some testing and went to Bonestrewn Crest where a dragon always spawns; it wasn't there. When I turned Walls and Spawns on, the dragon appeared. So...since I turned Walls and Spawns on, will dragons start spawning at Word Walls and randomly in the world, or is my save screwed and I won't see any dragons at all for the duration of my game?
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 14 apr @ 11:57am
The Dragonborn quest has not been edited by Skyrim Unbound, so it will begin as normal. I suggest you use a mod like Timing is Everything to set additional requirements.
macadamstreet 14 apr @ 10:27am
this look interresting for me ( i not want restart again and again the same way to kill the dragon , save people, and still be a shit guy in middle of uncapacited people ask for small shit).
gonna try it and start as a classic mercenary ^^

i just have 1 question. how it affect the dragonborn quest ? specially the dragonborn main quest. do the guys come speak to me when i reach level 10-15 or do i need to travel to solstheim ? (boat/travel already unlocked and directly talk to solstheim peoples for "activate" the dragonborn dlc main quest)
i know this situation probably look weird as non dragonborn character, but whatever, i can beat this ^^
spiket31 9 apr @ 6:26pm
thanks for the quick response!
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 9 apr @ 3:00pm
spiket31: No, there should be no conflicts.
spiket31 9 apr @ 2:16pm
searched around and the dicussions and a some of the comments and didnt see the answer so ill just ask, does this conflict with mods that add more playable races?
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 2 apr @ 9:29am
Nothing to do with this mod.
WePlayGames115 2 apr @ 12:07am
um i cant create a new game why?
Tyr Skovgaard 31 mar @ 7:38am
Thanks, I found out what was wrong and fixed it. Thanks for you help chinagreenelvis.
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 31 mar @ 3:07am
Since changes to the DLC would make them required, there are currently no edits to those quests or any DLC dialogue. If I had the time, I would make a separate version of the mod that does exactly that; unfortunately, I've spent more of my life on Skyrim Unbound than I ever intended to in the first place.
zergvsgenin 30 mar @ 7:33pm
Is there anything that affects the official DLCs? Hearthfire is easy enough to handle, since there are few to no references to the Dragonborn, but for non-Dragonborns, how does Dawnguard and the DB DLC work? Both require some progress in the main questline to start up or finish certain quests.
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 30 mar @ 4:11pm
Tyr: Run SkyrimLauncher.exe.
Tyr Skovgaard 30 mar @ 3:42pm
I need some help, I can't figure out how to download the mod after subscribbing.
DragonSlayer673 29 mar @ 10:17am
ok, that's it, im subscribing to this mod.
The Wat King 29 mar @ 8:30am
But this is wtill really good! I never even noticed the reset thing. This mod is so simple, yet so perfect! You honestly shoud consider expanding it to other websites so others can enjoy this too :D
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 28 mar @ 11:01pm
Well, to be fair, if you use the race menu option in the middle of your game, it will reset certain things. But that's just part of how the game's hard-coding handles that and there's no way around it. If there was, I'd implement it.
The Wat King 28 mar @ 6:42pm
This, by far, is my favorite alternet start mod I have ever used, yes, even better then "Alternet Start - Live another life". That thing is rubbish compaired to the immense freedom this mod gives you! It even allows you to edit your character during the game, allowing you to emmulate your character's growing up cycle, or if your unhappy with how s/he looks! If you put this on Nexus, I would bet it would be #1 in a year or two. :D
DragonSlayer673 25 mar @ 12:27pm
chinagreenelvis: well I did not know that! thanks for the heads up.
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 24 mar @ 6:11pm
Kidmanfive: The mod configuration menu is a feature of SkyUI. SKSE is required for SkyUI to function.

Swanbadboy: Read the troubleshooting section of the mod description and the FAQ.
swanbadboy 24 mar @ 12:52pm
is thre a way to use the mcm for the mod wen ure in middle of a save game
swanbadboy 24 mar @ 12:50pm
well i installed the mod and i uninstalled it via mod organiser and them acedent ly reinstalledit via mod organiser and now tghe mod reset and on ma svave game i am not the dragon born and cant learn new shouts
DragonSlayer673 24 mar @ 12:27pm
uh, you mean SKSE? SkyUI doesnt add the mod configuration thing.
Nurse Redheart 23 mar @ 8:45am
Yes, I did see that. I used it right away and it's working fine now. Thank goodness you included that. x3
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 22 mar @ 2:22pm
There's nobody here who can help you, really. Your problem is with the Steam Workshop, and that's not something I have any control over. If you read the mod description page, you 'll see that there is a manual download link if you want to install the mod yourself.
Nurse Redheart 22 mar @ 1:34pm
I hope someone sees this.. I'm having a very serious and very strange issue that I have no idea what caused it or how to fix it. I'm subscribed to this mod, and three more actually. But when I launch Skyrim, it only detects Unbound and it doesn't download it. It just 'syncs' and then when I launch the game, it isn't working.
Mordy 21 mar @ 3:31pm
Well that's odd then, as it's not getting recognised, at least not by my BOSS but it's not a huge deal, since the mod now works fine again as will use BOSS to sort the mods seeing as LOOT is having some obvious issues with things.

And seeing as i didn't say it previously, good job on the mod, i've tried several alternate start ones but yours is hand down the best of the bunch and i will continue using till the day i stop playing Skyrim for good!
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 21 mar @ 2:35pm
Lightningninja: Nothing in the mod description mentions anything about skipping the Greybeards. If you're getting the quest automatically, you've got the mod in the wrong position in your load order.

Mordy: This is why I don't recommend LOOT and always suggest putting Skyrim Unbound as low as possible in the load order. Also, BOSS should recognize it since it was added to their lists years ago.
Mordy 21 mar @ 12:49pm
Update: It seems to be a load order issue with LOOT making the mod futz up and BOSS having it work correctly (due it being unrecognised and thus being placed at the end of the load order) so ha, at least the mystery has now been solved!
Mordy 21 mar @ 12:16pm
Well, for some reason regardless of my settings i get a full iron armor set (with the helmet put on my head, always) + several weapons, about 20 random potions and 140 gold more than what i selected at the start slapped into my inventory as soon as i hit the character creation.

No idea as to why, as the mod was working just fine before i did my full, clean reinstall few days back but whatever the cause is, while not game breaking it's definately annoying as i'm now doubting if other parts of the mod have glitched up as well.

Will try another unsubscribe --> subscribe cycle, see if that fixes it or something..
Lightningninja 21 mar @ 11:48am
This was supposed to skip the greybeards, but it didn't... 5/10
AJ™ 14 mar @ 8:53pm
problem was not that but it somehow fixed itself after i unsubscribed and then subscribed the mod again here i think newest skyrim update was the problem for workhop mods.
AJ™ 14 mar @ 8:18am
anyone else having problem with equip gear option its not working atleast for me. it always equip gear first even if you turned it off in MCM.
Under Dog 13 mar @ 8:59pm
thanks
chinagreenelvis  [skapare] 13 mar @ 8:55pm
If you use Sky UI, you set the options in the MCM whenever you want. If you don't have Sky UI, there is an options power in your magic menu.

This is all in the FAQ and mod description.
Under Dog 13 mar @ 7:35pm
How can you do that?
