if u r in rms coding, michi x45 could be for u: boarders r free from trees (for free trade); also a LOT of hidden/disabled cool stuff u could easy enable by switching some flags in the rms file header. (no/low/high res; with/without relics; flat or hills; terrain-look-and-feel; rocks; towers; pre-walled; lakes&fish; ...)

and yes, steam changed somehow the workshop, so, the download here seems not to work anymore. as i do not play aoe2 on steam anymore, i do not think i will update this anytime soon, sorry.

[] on voobly could still be a place to get the fn-maps and also the tutorials (last time i played there, blackmore was still very active as moderator). but i'm afraid the team is not very alive anymore... however, if u just wanna see the tricky-rms-code: i used almost the same method in my michi x45 map and i know it is rebundled somewhere here in the (new) workshop. that download should still work.

well, i know fenix, played a lot fn with him those days. :) lot of fun. and damn he played very well. this however is the fn lakes map i made (as i wrote, the new feature was a single lake for each player. a little tricky to code, cause rms sucks* (*=is very limited)). this is NOT fenix's modified version he made later upon my map.

(pure) fn itselfe is way older (...rember clan holzhackerbuben?) und i personal still prefer that (pure) fn version (of king george)...

For Walkman, if you want the rms file made by FenixGoldSilver you can find it on my personal webspace:
go to:

right click on " FN Lake ONLY fix2.1.rms " and left click on "save as"
After that you should be able to find the file in your download folder.

I don't know if it will work on steam, I also don't know for sure in what folder you have to put the map in...
For normal (old) version of AOC, it's this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\Random
Maybe it's the same for the HD version, if not, you must find out yourself...

I know this map is made by FenixGoldSilver, I even remember when he was working on it...

fenix golds silver.., make these map

When I download this steam places a 1.6 KiB file 630786604073116432_legacy.bin in SteamApps\workshop\content\221380\161709795 and I don't see any rms files. A different map mod I've found downloads a .RMS file to SteamApps\workshop\content\221380\283092210\resources\_common\random-map-scripts which I can then copy to the game folder.

i love steam, i love aoe2:tc - but steam was never the place for me to... "feel home" with this game. so, sorry, i do not know what has changed here since i uploaded this map and so i do not know why it would need any update - if it does... how can i help?

if you subscribe you should find the map file "FN Lake Near ORIGIANL.rms" inside your random folder of the game path. do you have any trouble with that?
