the idea is really great and has alot of potential, but you really need to take a second look at the core of this mutation. Now, i'm not saying I can do better, because I can't, and I know that modding is challenging, but these are the most immediate concerns about this gamemode:

Less infected, or lower damage output.
Special infected. I don't know what, but playing on easy is basically mandatory.
Food and water depletes too fast
Picking up items that can actually make a difference, a lamp won't really block anything.

Oh, and I can see this has not been updated since june last year, if you've abandoned the project, can I get you to write this in the title if you can't remove it entirely?

You should be able to play it with friends. I've been able to. Have you set it up as a Local Server? Is the console command "sv_consistency" set to 0? That may be why your friends can't join.

i watched the video, but i won't get it, this mod could of been useful for getting annoying trash that gets in you're path and you try hard to get past trash and can't till you do get past it, and i mean trash like boxes and more other annoying trash, could of been useful for campain, yep,

Would be better if like for example that lift you picked up in the thumbnail? You can throw that at zombies to kill them.

I think you should make a version w/o special infected (solo player here, all those specials that lock you in place instantly are pretty annoying as they mean certain death) and possibly one with the 'usual' zombie that is slow and only die from headshots (again w/o special infected). Great work so far. :)

@MT - Thanks. Theoretically, this mod should work on any map. I suggest subscribing to a few Survival maps on Workshop and trying Stranded on those.

@Karma - Static lighting is "baked" onto the map; all modders have access to are dynamic lights of which there are too few to calculate from. Thus, the mod has no clear way of knowing whether you are in darkness or in light, so zombies detect you based purely on distance, onstructions, and volumetrics.

Hey Neil, this mod is absolutely great. Me and my friends have recorded many videos of it and we've had a blast. We're trying easy and now we've gone to expert for a more difficult experience, adding to the fun. However, we only experience this fun on one map, Dark Carnival 5. Concert. This map has the most props, and the best camping spots/spawns. Hopefully, you or another modder could create some maps to go along perfectly with this. I understand this is in alpha, but please, I don't want to become bored of this mod, it has too good of a chance... Thank you, MT

Very fun, here are some suggestions:
1) Silencer - It could be a simple prop that you walk over and gives you the ability from your bag to equip a silencer. The original model of the weapon could remain the same and even the sound effects could be the same but with the script running shots would be less loud
2) Some kind of ammo pickup - All the weapons only have a certain amount of shots, this kills the point of having the weapon and I think ammo would be a nice addition
3) Crafting - yes I said it crafting, nothing complex just a simple text based system to allow things to be built such as the silencer mentioned before or maybe a moltov (Beer bottle prop + shirt pile prop)
4) Hammer and Nails - Basically the ablilty to stick props to the floors and walls making it harder for the infected to pass, they would be able to break the prop after a certain amount of hits

@NeXoN[LT] - Get out of the common infected's line of sight, hide, crouch, and stay quiet. Once the infected lose track of you, they'll stop chasing.

I do like this mod, it is fun but I often find myself not needing to pick up any items at all, because before I get hungry or thirsty I die. If I want to move to a different location, I always fight hoards of zombies that constantly respawn. The respawning is good in some aspects, if you kill all the zombies you just win and it is over, but by having them respawn so close to you, it is impossible to move anywhere. I hate to see this problem in the mod because it makes it nearly unplayable because nobody can move anywhere. If there was a respawn system similar to the one in versus game mode, so that they could respawn if they were not in eyesight or nearby, it would be much easier to play.

It says if you can get out of their line of sight and out of their hearing while you put distance between you and them. Try shoving the zombies, and while they get up, you RUN LIKE A MOTHAFUCKA, if you are out of line of sight, run into the nearest corner behind and object or inside a room, while holding walk+crouch. It works for me just fine.

I understand that they're supposed to be stronger/smarter but the fact that a lot of the time they'll keep coming and hardly be staggered even after knocking the heads off and whacking them three/four times is ridiculous.

@polygonetwo: I updated the mod to include a better description of the controls. Basically, pressing shift = select, and right-click = shift through options.

- Updated inventory controls description

@Wallrider: Stranded uses a scripting library called VSLib. Check it out here: https://github.com/L4D2Scripters/vslib

Specifically, check out the function VSLib::Player::BeginValvePickupObjects.

@Jammizzle: SI (specials) are disabled on Easy difficulty.

@hunted: The ability to pickup new prop items is a part of Stranded / VSLib, not a console command, sorry.

Okay so there is no way to turn off specials.
