Thanks man, your a machine! XD
Ozhara  [author] Dec 14, 2015 @ 10:58pm
Sure. I'll do so when back home (in about 9 hours).
julianbaba4 Dec 14, 2015 @ 10:26pm
Can you release those big snow rocks and snow cliffs by themselves? They look pretty cool :)
James The Terrible Nov 28, 2013 @ 12:43pm
Thanks it worked
Ozhara  [author] Nov 27, 2013 @ 10:36pm
Most files in the slp folder aren't part of my mod. But when verifying your game cache, AoE will reload all missing data.

Easiest way to just delete the files added to the slp folder by my mod is to open the mods archive in your game\mods folder. It's just a zip archive without an extension.
There you can see exactly what files my mod adds.

I just don't post a list now for I'm at work, and I don't want to miss a file or write it down wrong.
James The Terrible Nov 27, 2013 @ 5:46pm
Sorry, I'm kinda noobish at this, so when I see the Slp folder, do i delete everything inside that folder or what exactly becuase this is my only mod other than no rotting bodies. I just don't want to delete something important.
The_Jenkster Nov 27, 2013 @ 3:47pm
okay thanks
Ozhara  [author] Nov 26, 2013 @ 10:23pm
To be more precise, all my terrain mods (exept the space ones) change the shallows to a more swampy look (to add more diversity to terrains and reduce the effect of no visible water effect on this terrains and its dark edges to middle/deep water that result from this - which looks a bit weird in my opinion).
This one just changes the color/saturation so and adds some snow/ice layers so it fits the other terrains.
Ozhara  [author] Nov 26, 2013 @ 10:17pm

It makes them look snowy. Nothing beside the visuals are changed.

AoEs Mod system uses additional files for most graphics, but steams verification of your game cache just checks files that are original game files (otherwise it would delete mod files too for example).
The easiest way to delete them manually is to go to your game\data\ directory and delete the slp subdirectory. This one contains all seperate graphic files.

To avoid this in the future, have a look at my Mod Manager. It is able to completely delete every mod you installed using Mod Manager too with just one button click.
James The Terrible Nov 26, 2013 @ 6:03pm
I deleted the mod and everything is back to normal except all the mines are winter and mountains are winter still. I don't want it so can you tell me how to get it to the original please?
The_Jenkster Nov 26, 2013 @ 3:54pm
what does it do to shallows?

Great to hear I as able to help! Enjoy gaming!
CoffeeAndDonuts Jul 31, 2013 @ 9:23pm
Sorry I took so long to get back to you. But I went in to the folder and manually deleted the mod. Worked just fine! Went back and subbed now everything is wonderful and snow covered. Thank you for all the help and great work on breathing some fresh life into this game!

For getting a clean install, without any information regarding this mod, after deleting the trees (the terrains changed back correctly as you didn't mention them in your last post?), do the follwing:

(This is the way that should be the 'right way', if you don't want to do all that work, you can try the dirty/qick way, which you can find at the end of these points.

- Go to your AoE\mods molder and delete the mod file.
Ozhara  [author] Jul 25, 2013 @ 10:44am
- Delete all other mod files, that belog to unsubscribed mods (these files are never deleted automatically, but can cause steam to get confused about your actual 'mod status'.

- If you have 30 or more active mods (check your subscribed mods in steam workshop), unsubscribe from some scenarios (unsubscribed scenarios can still be usd, as they are addintional files and only changed ones are organizsed by steam -.-, but it seems despite you can subscribe to more than 30 mods, steam ignores them simply, and even doesn't download them).
-> Safest for 'testing' would be to delete all modfiles, even the ones you still have subscribed. They will be reloaded at next game start. But for they normally never are deleted, this is the easiest way to check which ones do work as intended.

If you deleted any file in one of the above steps, or only to be sure:
- Verify one more time and start the game to verify everything is as it should be.
Ozhara  [author] Jul 25, 2013 @ 10:44am
- Resubscribe to my winter pack, and watch the intro until the chess one starts.

- Have a look at your mods folder. If there were much data to reload, it can happen the intro time wasn't enough and you have to restart the game one or two times more... :(

If all needed mod files have been downloaded correctly, all files should sho up ingame correctly. If they don't try it the dirty way:

Open the mod file with winrar/7zip.
It contains a folder structure identical to you game directory ones. Just select all and copy it to your game directory, say yes for overwriting question. No all files should be shanged to the ones contained in this mod.

Hope this helps!
Enjoy gaming this awesome game!
Ozhara  [author] Jul 25, 2013 @ 10:28am
OK, while I'm thinking about the subscribing error leading to not alle changes showing up, if the trees aren't deleted automatically, delete following files from your data\slp folder:

Will post soon for getting my mod to work for you. Hope you'll give it a second chance. :)
CoffeeAndDonuts Jul 25, 2013 @ 10:20am
I had no other mods changing terrain. After subbing I watched the entire intro movie. Still nothing. unsubbed and verified cache and still the trees are snow covered! Tried it all twice and still nothing new! Thanks for any other help you can offer!
Ozhara  [author] Jul 25, 2013 @ 10:15am
When you subscribed to this mod, did you have other mods before, changing the terrain?
If so, did you verify your game cache before subscribing? -> Steam sometimes doesn't takes new mods into account, if there alsready is one chaneging a file.
Sometimes even that isn't enough ans steam continues using the old/unsubscribed mod until you delete its mod file manually.

After subscribing to this mod, did you cancel the intro videos? for mod data is reloaded while the first ons are playing, so canceling can lead to mods not loaded correctly/completely.

Unsubscribing only sets a flag for a mod isn't taken into account hen deciding next time which file is changed by what mod. So without a verifiyation of your game files, the trees won't vanish. (Verifying deletes all changed files, the right files are reloaded while next game starts intro videos - only before the chess one)
CoffeeAndDonuts Jul 25, 2013 @ 10:01am
This is only making my trees and grass covered in snow. Even when I unsubbed. Whats up with this?
MassMetalizer Jul 23, 2013 @ 8:12pm
I just noticed in the intro, during the chess game when one king moves his pawn to be poised to attack the other's rook. Then the other king retaliates by killing his pawn with a knight, resulting in a panicked look from the first king. But there's literally a pawn in striking distance that could eliminate the other king's knight next move.

Gern geschehen, schön dass ich helfen konnte!
Viel Spaß noch mit AoE!
Hansi Jul 23, 2013 @ 5:18pm

Ozhara  [author] Jul 23, 2013 @ 3:14am
When using a lot of seperate mods, it would indeed be some work to get them working again after subscribing to one of my full texture packs.

But I published also some 'land packs', only changing land terrains. So in your case, the only changed ones would be the farms, what can be fixed by unsubscribing the farms, and resubscribing after the land pack.

While there is a land pack available, containing the landtextures contained in my full texture pack V3, there isn't for my V4 until now.
But that could be published very qickly if you would want to use such.
IamDalv Jul 23, 2013 @ 3:07am
I have a few mods, like Ozhara's Default Gold Mine Enhancement, default Cliffs, Cinematic HD Water, AOM farms, Pussywood. A pack would change all these.
While I left most terrain intact, the bad thing about the original snow though is that it hurts your eyes, it's just pure white.
Ozhara  [author] Jul 22, 2013 @ 3:40pm
Until now there isn't, but I can upload one of my snow textures (there are two, the old used until full texture pack V2, and the actual one.)

But it looks best if the snowmixes also use the same snow. So you do you want them also changed, and if so - which textures do you use, default ones?

Beside that, have you tested one of my texture packs? Perhaps one of them fits your needs despite they change all terrains (and in case of the 'full' packs some more game objcts)?
IamDalv Jul 22, 2013 @ 3:01pm
is there a mod that replaces the original snow with prettier snow like this one, but only that?
Ozhara  [author] Jul 8, 2013 @ 10:58pm
Me too.^^ Cancelled it every time until I found out about how mod organizations seems to function ('seems' because the workshop is that buggy sometimes it is hard to tell what the normal behaviour would be^^).
And while modding I changed a lot of subscriptions at some times. ;)
Glad I could help.
MassMetalizer Jul 8, 2013 @ 10:54pm
That's good to hear. I certainly don't mind the AoE intro, but I wouldn't want to have to sit through it every time. Thanks for your help.
Ozhara  [author] Jul 8, 2013 @ 10:47pm
And as I mentioned, when the AoK video starts (the one with the king playing chess after the HiddenPath Logo), no further mod data will be loaded. So at that point at the latest you can cancel it in any circumstances.
Ozhara  [author] Jul 8, 2013 @ 10:46pm
Definately not, mostly the first few seconds are enough to reload your used mod data. And without a new subscription, or a verification of your game cache you can cancel it imediately.
MassMetalizer Jul 8, 2013 @ 10:30pm
Ah, Thanks for the reply.
So, if I'm only using a few mods, then I don't need to sit through the entire AoE intro?
Ozhara  [author] Jul 8, 2013 @ 9:36pm
In general it functions like this:
Subscribing/Unsubscribing only sets a flag for (not) using a mod.
So unsubscribed mods are only deleteted by verifying your game cache.
But this deletes ALL changed data (mod data that is added such as scenarios will not be deleted automatically).
At the beginning of the intro (before the AoK video plays) all subscribed mods are checked for which files have to be (re)downloaded.
And I experienced, when you have subscribed to a very large amount of mods, this time isn't enough sometimes, so you would have to restart the game two or even three times.
MassMetalizer Jul 8, 2013 @ 4:40pm
Question regarding mods in general: Do I have always let the intro playthrough completely each time I start up the game? Or is that only for the first time I add a new mod?
Ozhara  [author] Jun 29, 2013 @ 9:25am
Glad I could help.
Swissknight Jun 29, 2013 @ 9:23am
thy the problem is solved :)
Ozhara  [author] Jun 29, 2013 @ 7:20am
Did you verify the game cache after unsubscribing, and did you cancel the intros after next game start? First thing should be done, second avoided.
Swissknight Jun 29, 2013 @ 6:58am
Hey, I had a problem when i deleted this Pack. I couldnt download other texure packs anymore from you and the mines and trees where still snowed. Can you help me with this problem?
