After numerous messages about groupees keys for aftermath, this is now explained in the discussions. Sorry guys.
shaun  [author] Aug 5 @ 7:03am
Well if you check through web sites and such, you will find Ghostship (both games) are the first in a trilogy. The second I will be using the new U4 engine and hopefully raise some money from Ghostship to get a team together :) So if just 1 person can make this, what do you think i could do with a small team working on the next title?
seansdibbun Jul 30 @ 7:09pm
You know, if Ghostship becomes a success, a lot of people would probably ask for you to make it into a series. You know, like a Ghostship 2 or 3? Though, if that be the case, I would say that every game in it would have to keep with the continuity of the title.
shaun  [author] Jul 30 @ 11:24am
I have been working hard on the beta, and next month (august) i am giving you the first look and hope to get beta 1 online by the end of august for pre-orders and supporters.

Watch this space :)
shaun  [author] Jul 30 @ 11:23am
We have a lot of music at the moment, but we also hope to have more and we do hope to release an album
seansdibbun Jul 30 @ 9:07am
I love the music in this. Do you plan on posting a soundtrack afterwards?
TSU-Dude.Man.Guy Jul 25 @ 12:19am
Can't wait for this one to hit the digital shelf man, I do really enjoy Aftermath dispite a handfull of bugs and AI problems but the premise and the feel of the game just gets me going, I like where you're going with your stuff especially this one.

Keep developing!
shaun  [author] Jul 6 @ 6:20am
Hi Truggs, Ghostship Aftermath and CDF Ghostship are two very different games with inter-crossing story-lines. In essence CDF Ghostship is a first person shooter which is based during the event on the Goliath. Ghostship aftermath is a survival horror which has very different gameplay mechanics and is based after the events on the CDF Goliath. Being based afterwards ammo, weapons etc are very low and you go in as an ASET (advance Scientific Evaluation Team) In CDF Ghostship you play three characters of the ships crew as you find out what really happened. Ghostship aftermath releases first which will also raise more questions which are answered in the second game CD Ghostship. If it sounds confusing check out both web sites for the full info :)
truggs Jul 5 @ 10:33pm
i'm sorry if this has already been answered but whats the difference between this and aftermath. i guess there is a time period difference... this has a halloween release while aftermath will be released this summer? or am i mixed up?
Vokun Drog Arcos Xerocite Jul 5 @ 6:45pm
Hey, no worries, I was only joking, probably should have said that in the post though....But no, it looks good sir.
shaun  [author] Jul 5 @ 6:43pm
Ripped off dead space? Free roaming? random games and game events, Multiple game modes including single, multi-player, and co-op, Signature helmet view, First Person Shooter (LOL is dead space an fps??) Signature Helmet View and built for VR!

Its dangerous to make accusations with out full control of the facts. Before posting something as comparing a zero funded game to a AAA game may be very good for my ego as a sole developer, but the real point is this game is nothing like dead space. Your on a space ship and its a horror style game? So every game in that broad description is a rip off of dead space??

LOL

***Sorry for rant***! Lead and sole developers prerogative :) If you liked dead space, then i am sure this game would interest you! But i can assure you, that reviews of the game will not reflect the accusations you make :)

Vokun Drog Arcos Xerocite Jul 5 @ 3:09pm
Congrats, you ripped off deadspace.
Dragon Jul 5 @ 1:18pm
Everytime I drop past this look better and better. Keep it up :)
shaun  [author] Jun 25 @ 8:10pm
Dont forget about Ghosthip Aftermath everbody! Its the first release - 4th july - Independance day! - www.ghostshipaftermath.com
shaun  [author] Jun 25 @ 7:58pm
No still just me :) In summer i hope to raise some funds so i can get some help with the multiplayer side. Ghostship aftermath is releasing soon, hopefully we should make a little money from that and use it for the last development of cdf ghostship :)
Glaice Jun 25 @ 7:31pm
Quality over quantity then I take it :) I assume under 10 members.
shaun  [author] Jun 25 @ 6:48pm
Glaice, The dev team is still tiny, but the game is shaping up to be huge :) Its not size that matters, its quality :)
Glaice Jun 25 @ 12:08pm
How big is the development team right now?
shaun  [author] Jun 1 @ 2:23pm
Knives will be useless as you will see lol. When the first alpha was prototypes, it had melee weapons. When you are fighting something deadly, the last thing you want is a knife :)

Weapons are key tour survival, lots of types, including flamethrowers :) as well as grenades, rocket launchers, proximity mines.

"---" Jun 1 @ 2:17pm
Can you melee in this game? Is it possible to use knives/objects to bash aliens? How about burning them? For example pick up can - throw it (at enemy) then set them/the floor on fire?
Mathius57 May 25 @ 7:37pm
I would play this
kamyk May 23 @ 3:13am
Personally I like the voice of the female AI. It reminds me of SHODAN or GLaDOS. Two highly memorable, well known characters from two top selling, cult classic video games I might add. So yeah, I like the voice.

Wow. Shaun, this game has really progressed from the first early build. Terrific work.
shaun  [author] Apr 26 @ 11:56am

2_D Apr 22 @ 2:24pm
This Game has been great From Pre Alpha And has come a great long way
L-Valkyrie 화이팅! Apr 10 @ 5:30am
Amazing !!
Anoplexian Apr 8 @ 9:34pm
Did the idea for the CDF come from an Author named John Scalzi by any chance? If so, you have officially interested me.
shaun  [author] Apr 4 @ 5:26am
Its a HUGE ship, free roaming. And then there is the colony and space station. With a game environment that big which is basically a huge ship, inside and out, if we had a budget to work with and more than 1 modeler to model everything in the game, your wish might come true. Bear in mind we have not released anything new on CDF Ghostship For a while, its had an almost total overhaul. The last thing we released which again is much improved since is : a quick look at one of the maps in onlsaught mode (survival wave based game mode)

http://youtu.be/k2gwFF-uU7w

Low Polygon looks like Half Life 1.and the Blood is from flinnstones Time.Sry But the voice from the female is Realy mmh.Is a Robot voice from Game Boy sound check.Plz more Grafik and the Game can be good.
Invisigoth Mar 15 @ 9:19pm
To refine even more the game, i would like permission to suggest some improviments refining the weapon *(reloading animation). Nice & smooth handling and loading the weapon would deserve great attention in the game, since it will be the player's only friend while surviving. One thing i have learnt from FPS games, if i have learnt at all, is that we love weapons. Its diversity in shape, format, sound, options, fire-rate, reloading time and visual animation.
shaun  [author] Mar 15 @ 8:18pm
Thanks Bone, its come along away since he first alpha. Have you played the - Upto date Onlsuaght demo (from the beta) This features a host of new improvements as well as the new aliens and ai and effects.

We have a supporter bundle with some awesome perks, only a few weeks left until the offer finishes. Visit our site for more details - www.cdfghostship.com

Bone Mar 15 @ 7:52pm
@Invisigoth; I've played the alpha since V0.33, and it has come along a huge way (environment textures, AI, object collision, lighting, shadows, fog effects, and the list goes on). Gameplay wise, its fluid and controls are smooth. I'd suggest getting on board and trying out the Alpha... theres plenty to see and do right now, and its not even 50% of being completed. Give it a whirl!
shaun  [author] Mar 9 @ 7:40am
Very smooth fluent game-play now. Great fun for the combat mechanics, mixed with the adventure style in a free roaming space ship, space station and colony - its huge. And that's just story mode, there are other game modes for even more fun :)

Don`t forget to check out our debut title, releasing in may - www.ghostshipaftermath.com
Invisigoth Mar 9 @ 5:34am
I cheer up so much for this game. I hope this game works. If Steam puts a special promotion price on its release date, i will quickly buy it. I am fan of some H.P. Lovecraft short-stories and to have a game with this dark atmosphere and tone of cosmic terror is a dream coming true. Since the scope, areas and maps of the game are huge. The next step now is to have a good communication between players and developers on checking the gameplay, how movement and combat controls. Is it clunky or smooth
shaun  [author] Mar 9 @ 12:18am
The ship is huge, there is also the colony and space station.

To Give you an idea of the size of the ship, check it the latest vid of onslaught mode -

http://youtu.be/k2gwFF-uU7w

This map is one of the 2 hangers which are part of deck 3 operations. There are over 20 decks. So that should give you an idea of how big the ship is. In the alpha 0.45 you get access to just under half the ship.
Tarius Mar 3 @ 10:27am
Looks like this game was lost through the cracks on the funding campaign. This game looks genuinely interesting so its a suprise that more people didnt find it.
With the above said, just how large is the ship? After a quick looking over all I have seen is that the ship is large but not exactly how large. Is it like the size of a small city? etc etc. If its at least like the size of the Pillar of Autumn from Halo(where it takes you a couple minutes at full speed in a warthog to drive down the back of the ship), I would consider that to be a great start.
Invisigoth Mar 1 @ 7:36pm
Ghostship is actually an interesting and awesome concept to work on, (if this game could do it right, it will be very successful and get huge spotlight from gaming news websites & channels)
FalcoN Feb 24 @ 7:44am
Good proyect
shaun  [author] Feb 15 @ 2:41am
CDF Ghostship was my original idea, To create a sci-fi first person shooter which was free roaming, excellent game-play mechanics and multiple and random events. The multiplayer side of CDF Ghostship will also extend the life of the game. We have some awesome multiplayer plans. Ghostship Aftermath is also a very unique and original game which focuses more on experience and survival horror.

Everyone will also be very happy to know that we have got rid of the old aliens and now have some new and much better aliens in game now :)
mitch11697 Feb 14 @ 5:11pm
Was CDF Ghostship your original idea, or do you share the games origins/making with someone else or a group? Just curious, this game looks very promising and I wanted to know more about it.
Jacky Feb 13 @ 8:02pm
Impressive, I wish I had found this game earlier!
Bowjo Feb 8 @ 12:58pm
is there modding tools? I thought it would be great accompanied with a pulse rifle... >sticky tounge outy face thing? that---> :P <
shaun  [author] Jan 28 @ 9:09pm
Going great, the next few months is finishing off the ship and space station. We are polishing up and getting the new stuff done for aftermath as that is the first release in April. AFtermath is no longer just a tech demo, its now much much more which in turn will make CDF Ghostship much much more. We are throwing a few new mechanics into the mix which we will announce shortly. We are looking at May for early access and the first beta. While that is in testing we will be working on the multiplayer which should be ready for testing in summer :)
Bone Jan 28 @ 6:38pm
How goes development Shaun?
shaun  [author] Jan 22 @ 2:04pm
As we have got to re-designing zombies and and a variety of infected mutated crew, we will also get round to the aliens. There are many types of different aliens not just the biters, they are more canon fodder. A lot of the aliens have large teeth, we need a good dentist to file them down :)
Jools Jan 22 @ 9:30am
I understand a few things are placeholder since the game is still early, but does that include enemy designs as well? Some of them look a little silly with mouths that can't possibly close with such massive, impractical teeth. I hope new monsters or new revisions follow more of a body horror style like System Shock 2 for example. Otherwise I'm quite looking forward to the final game, where hopefully there'll be on screen crosshairs :).
shaun  [author] Jan 21 @ 10:54am
The demo is great fun, the full alpha has much much more. pre-order for alpha access and to get the crew member offer (72 left i think)
mortuus Jan 21 @ 9:34am
downloading now looks amazing concept so far.
shaun  [author] Jan 12 @ 12:52am
The last release - the last alpha is for both, the readme explains it, but from Tomorrow its going offline so be quick. The new alpha which is releasing on the 17th will be just the oculus rift version. We will not have time to get a normal pc demo out until launch in April.
