Unless I'm misinterpreting, there is a mod on the Nexus that's in that vein called Familiar Faces. It lets you bring characters from other saves into whatever save you're playing as followers. Or enemies.

Thanks for the offer. :3 I do already have a storyline in mind for the sword's quest, the sticking point is actually MAKING it. The quest system in Skyrim is a complex mess that I have very little experience with, and then of course there's making the interiors (though that's probably the least problematic of the two).

The book "The Aetherium Wars" can be found hither and yon in various places. One surefire spot for finding it is in the Hall of the Vigilant.

There is a chance for an explosion to go off when you hit a dragon but it shouldn't ragdoll the player, nor happen all the time. I'll give it the once-over and see if something needs to be tweaked.

love the sword, but my first hit or first power attack on a dragon ragdolls me and sends me flying back. Any idea why? is a balancing thing or a glitch?

Wow this is strange so the effects work on my level 83 save for mods but they dont work on my level 21 save i use to play normally. It must a corrupt save. Oh boy!

I use FO3Archive for extraction purposes. It's pretty simple and easy to use compared to the program that comes with the Creation Kit, which requires .bsl files to even open BSAs.

Yeah, that should be fine. The file structure should be maintained when extracting the files so the contents will go where they belong.

Really there's no harm in extracting files from a BSA, they don't get removed from it, just copied. That aside, try putting the mod lower in the load order, maybe even close to the bottom and see what that does. I rightly don't know why it isn't working, the only possible reason I can think of is script lag. I myself have sometimes had a short delay between performing the power attack and the fireball or explosion going off, and script latency or something might be causing it to not occur at all. That's why I suggested extracting the scripts from the BSA, having them loose might allow them to be parsed better by the game.

Downloaded and the fireballs nor the explosions are not working. Its pretty high on the load order too. Also i'd rather not tamper with the files either. The only other insane weapon mod i have is the Stormbringer Runic Sword otherwise im not sure what mod would conflict with the animations. Any ideas?

Thanks man. Sorry that stuff couldn't get working but at least you can whack bandits around with it. Maybe the power attack stuff will just decide to work at some point, you never know with how Skyrim acts sometimes.

I don't know what mod could be conflicting with it, really, but on the off chance some other mod is interfering you could try changing its position in the load order and see if that helps. As far as the BSA goes, extracting files from it won't remove them from the BSA, it just copies them, but I don't blame you for being apprehensive about messing with it.

I guess it may be script lag because I'm not 100% sure I want to tamper with the BSA file. Is it possible that a mod might be conflicting with it?

That's normal, the vast majority of mods go into the Data folder, there's only a select few that go outside it. The BSA is just an archive, like a ZIP file, and it holds the guts of the mod (meshes, textures, scripts, etc). Opening it up and extracting the contents requires a program like FO3Archive (which is pretty simple to use).

I don't exactly know what the state of your Skyrim is, but there's one of two possibilities here. One is that the power attack script doesn't like being in the BSA and should be extracted out of it and into Data\Scripts. The other is that you've got script lag, which is when the script engine gets bogged down 'cause there's a lot of scripts running. Bad script lag can cause scripts to delay or not even run, so it could be a factor but I don't know what mods you're running and, as such, whether you have script lag or not.

........I'm not really sure about that, cause when I downloaded it from steam workshop it automatically goes into my skyrim data folder(both bsa and esp of course) Does that help any?

Script latency might be at fault there, and apparently also scripts don't execute as well if they're in a BSA. You could try opening the BSA up and extracting the scripts, then put them into your Data/Scripts folder (all you really need to extract are the .pex files) and see how it works then.

Yeah, it does, it changes spellcasting animations as well as the draw and sheath animations for 1-handed. Far as I know it doesn't affect 2-handed weapons. All the animation files are seperate though so you can pick and choose what you wanna use, the mod page for it has a video showing what the changes are.

I felt the Forge was a suitable place for the sword because of the lava and that you'd have to work to get to it. I'm of the opinion things like the Infinity Sword deserve a bit of challenge to get to, rather than just dropping it in Riverwood or something.

Sometime I might give it a bit of a retexture and play with how the edges animate, since the sword could use a bit of a makeover. Ideally the sections would scroll individually rather than all of them flowing toward the tip, that'd require some panoodling though.

IDEA: Make the sword now so cartoonic in a different version, Example: Orange, red, and yellow is a dark to light magma color. sword handle is made from worn out leather, and the black body is more metalic dented looking. just an idea :D
