I use FO3Archive for extraction purposes. It's pretty simple and easy to use compared to the program that comes with the Creation Kit, which requires .bsl files to even open BSAs.
Hawk 7 jul om 12:04nm
What program should i use to extract the files?
DEvasto  [auteur] 7 jul om 8:53vm
Yeah, that should be fine. The file structure should be maintained when extracting the files so the contents will go where they belong.
Hawk 7 jul om 8:45vm
Should i just extract everything to the data folder?
DEvasto  [auteur] 7 jul om 7:50vm
Really there's no harm in extracting files from a BSA, they don't get removed from it, just copied. That aside, try putting the mod lower in the load order, maybe even close to the bottom and see what that does. I rightly don't know why it isn't working, the only possible reason I can think of is script lag. I myself have sometimes had a short delay between performing the power attack and the fireball or explosion going off, and script latency or something might be causing it to not occur at all. That's why I suggested extracting the scripts from the BSA, having them loose might allow them to be parsed better by the game.
Hawk 6 jul om 10:59nm
Downloaded and the fireballs nor the explosions are not working. Its pretty high on the load order too. Also i'd rather not tamper with the files either. The only other insane weapon mod i have is the Stormbringer Runic Sword otherwise im not sure what mod would conflict with the animations. Any ideas?
DEvasto  [auteur] 6 jul om 1:26nm
Read the description; it holds the answer.
paul2511 6 jul om 11:33vm
Where is the sword
DEvasto  [auteur] 2 jul om 7:10nm
Thanks man. Sorry that stuff couldn't get working but at least you can whack bandits around with it. Maybe the power attack stuff will just decide to work at some point, you never know with how Skyrim acts sometimes.
Jester 2 jul om 7:07nm
Ah well that didn't work, fuck it I don't care. Still awesome blade
DEvasto  [auteur] 2 jul om 3:41nm
It might, it certainly couldn't hurt to try.
Jester 2 jul om 3:11nm
Do you think uninstalling it and reinstalling it may help? Beyond that I'm not gonna bother with it, at least it sets everything on fire
DEvasto  [auteur] 2 jul om 8:23vm
I don't know what mod could be conflicting with it, really, but on the off chance some other mod is interfering you could try changing its position in the load order and see if that helps. As far as the BSA goes, extracting files from it won't remove them from the BSA, it just copies them, but I don't blame you for being apprehensive about messing with it.
Jester 2 jul om 8:16vm
I guess it may be script lag because I'm not 100% sure I want to tamper with the BSA file. Is it possible that a mod might be conflicting with it?
DEvasto  [auteur] 1 jul om 9:20nm
That's normal, the vast majority of mods go into the Data folder, there's only a select few that go outside it. The BSA is just an archive, like a ZIP file, and it holds the guts of the mod (meshes, textures, scripts, etc). Opening it up and extracting the contents requires a program like FO3Archive (which is pretty simple to use).

I don't exactly know what the state of your Skyrim is, but there's one of two possibilities here. One is that the power attack script doesn't like being in the BSA and should be extracted out of it and into Data\Scripts. The other is that you've got script lag, which is when the script engine gets bogged down 'cause there's a lot of scripts running. Bad script lag can cause scripts to delay or not even run, so it could be a factor but I don't know what mods you're running and, as such, whether you have script lag or not.
Jester 1 jul om 8:15nm
........I'm not really sure about that, cause when I downloaded it from steam workshop it automatically goes into my skyrim data folder(both bsa and esp of course) Does that help any?
DEvasto  [auteur] 1 jul om 9:04vm
Script latency might be at fault there, and apparently also scripts don't execute as well if they're in a BSA. You could try opening the BSA up and extracting the scripts, then put them into your Data/Scripts folder (all you really need to extract are the .pex files) and see how it works then.
Jester 1 jul om 8:31vm
I think mine might be glitched? I do a powerswing and nothing happens. Not complaining about the strength of the sword but is there something wrong with mine?
Rokoshy 10 jun om 1:51nm
That sword... Man, its too strong.
DEvasto  [auteur] 5 mei om 4:23nm
Yeah, it does, it changes spellcasting animations as well as the draw and sheath animations for 1-handed. Far as I know it doesn't affect 2-handed weapons. All the animation files are seperate though so you can pick and choose what you wanna use, the mod page for it has a video showing what the changes are.
PixelQuest Gaming 5 mei om 4:19nm
Alright. Thanks.... By the way, does it edit more than just one handed animations?
DEvasto  [auteur] 5 mei om 4:18nm
Yeah, I am, it's the YY Mystic Knight animation mod. Only can find that fella on the Nexus though.
PixelQuest Gaming 5 mei om 4:14nm
In the last Screenshot-- Are you using an animation mod? If so, what is it?

(Cause Skyrim, for all its good stuff, has crappy animations.
Nizzorg 22 apr om 12:20nm

Piehex 10 apr om 11:52nm
and also is it a mod where they hold the sword next to the leg
Piehex 10 apr om 11:50nm
srsly why does it have to require dawnguard???
DEvasto  [auteur] 6 apr om 11:42vm
I felt the Forge was a suitable place for the sword because of the lava and that you'd have to work to get to it. I'm of the opinion things like the Infinity Sword deserve a bit of challenge to get to, rather than just dropping it in Riverwood or something.
Starwarsfan1011 6 apr om 6:15vm
its to hard to get there
Starwarsfan1011 6 apr om 6:15vm
why in the aetherium forge
DEvasto  [auteur] 5 apr om 11:45nm
Sometime I might give it a bit of a retexture and play with how the edges animate, since the sword could use a bit of a makeover. Ideally the sections would scroll individually rather than all of them flowing toward the tip, that'd require some panoodling though.
spike_wood 5 apr om 9:49nm
IDEA: Make the sword now so cartoonic in a different version, Example: Orange, red, and yellow is a dark to light magma color. sword handle is made from worn out leather, and the black body is more metalic dented looking. just an idea :D
DEvasto  [auteur] 15 mrt om 12:52vm
The Lost to the Ages quest will get you there, just go poking around for the Aetherium Wars book. The UESP wiki can probably tell ya where some of those books are located.
Starwarsfan1011 14 mrt om 6:27nm
I DONT KNOW THE FORGE IS
EnigmaticShitStorm 19 feb om 10:56nm
Thankyou :)
DEvasto  [auteur] 19 feb om 11:01vm
The YY Mystic Knight animation replacer, it's a Nexus-exclusive though.
EnigmaticShitStorm 19 feb om 3:36vm
in the final picture what animation mod is that?
DEvasto  [auteur] 16 feb om 2:16nm
They might, you'd have to try it yourself and see what happens. I'm pretty sure they'll behave fairly well when used in tandem.
tobias2000cc 16 feb om 1:36nm
What would happen if I wielded both Silmeri and the Infinity Sword? Would the special attacks for both weapons go into effect?
Krill_X 26 jan om 12:56vm
Nice
DEvasto  [auteur] 25 jan om 11:15nm
I'm pretty sure you would, yeah. Both versions are compatible with one another, the only requirement really would be Dawnguard in order for this version to work.
Krill_X 25 jan om 11:06nm
If I downloaded Vanilla and this, would I get two?
DEvasto  [auteur] 18 jan om 6:15nm
No problem, mate, always happy to help. :3
danielbrennan2 18 jan om 6:14nm
your a life saver dude
danielbrennan2 18 jan om 6:11nm
ok thanks
DEvasto  [auteur] 18 jan om 11:35vm
It depends on where you installed the game and possibly the OS. For Windows 7, the default location would be C:/program files (x86)/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data. Otherwise it'd be like E:/Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data
danielbrennan2 18 jan om 7:11vm
ok i have a question i cant seem to post a comment on nexus so i was woundering if you could help me.
i wanted to get the mod alduin scale armor off of nexus and it said to but it in the data folder but i cant seem to find it any ideas?
{&}DARKMATTER{&} 17 jan om 9:22nm
ah, thanks
DEvasto  [auteur] 17 jan om 9:21nm
It's the YY Mystic Knight animation set. It's a Nexus exclusive though, since there's no way animation files can be uploaded to the Workshop without an .esp.
{&}DARKMATTER{&} 17 jan om 9:19nm
what's your animation mod you got on?
danielbrennan2 13 jan om 6:21nm
thanks
