Sables, I'm not gonna badger you about it. Yes or no for an answer, I'm just gonna ask once.

Can you do an alternative version of this with the stock reload speed? This mucks up the reload sounds of practically any model add-on I can find.

Since the Tanks are sometimes a burden to me, I guess this will be a great help given the description!

I know that. Thing is that the 5.45 actually yews and tumbles more reliably than the 5.56, from what I heard, so the damage wouldn't be that much smaller. It also has less recoil than a 5.56mm. All of these are reasons why the Russians haven't retired the cartridge already.
But let's up all that aside. I meant "make it just for fun", like the shotty slugs. If not, you can make it spawn more often than the other Tier 2 guns.

I thought about the 5.45mm, but it's 1.4kJ to the .44 Magnum's 1.6kJ and the 5.56mm's 1.77kJ so it's a slightly less powerful cartridge. AK74 beats AK47 on precision but it's no tack-driver.

All things considered, I don't think it would be better than the "assault rifle." If anything, it'd be slightly less accurate and slightly less powerful, just shy of a reliable one-hit kill on Advanced and Expert, so it'd be an obsolete weapon in the game, only used by players who couldn't find anything else.

Okay, I get it. Your sets of mods aintend to go for realism, gameplay balance be damned. It's okay, I can roll with that.
Now, have you thought of making the AK47 an AK74, the version that fires 5.45x39mm rounds? It'd be an interesting addition to your mod collection.

Editor Beetle: The reload speed was an attempt to reduce the frustration value of the long pause between closing the bolt and actually having ammunition in the weapon.

As for what it does to Tanks, compare:
.32 ACP (Skorpion, a popular mod): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piCUNVFJU5E
9x19mm (pistols, M10, MP5): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEAZ6Vx7Ubs
.44 Magnum (Desert Eagle): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXhCHhFFIFc
5.56mm (Hunting Rifle): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55CkeT7qdtM
7.62x39mm (AK47): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8hL3WtKGY8
7.62x51mm (G3): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGYF8DTLcj4
12.7x99mm aka .50BMG (really big rifles): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7pAXj89hok

Not a lot is going to keep coming at you with 10 watermelon-sized holes in it. Even on Easy, the Tank somehow will.

In a 16-man team with my mods, I'd want 2 G3s, 10 SCAR-L, 3 M4 auto-shotguns and 1 12.7x99mm. With default guns, I'd make it 6 G3s, 6 AK47s and 4 M4s.

You should say "no respect for Tanks and a love for Witches". It eats both up like candy.
Though I think the buffed up reload speed makes it a tad overkill...

Sounds like a corrupted "ammo_type" line. You could check with GCFScape, or just try downloading from here: http://www.l4dmaps.com/details.php?file=25342

for some reason the gun only spawns with one magazines worth of ammo and will not resupply above one magazine, for me anyway.
Shemp 28 maja 2013 o 11:45
Ok so there is a change in the physics, guess I'll just have to try it out to see what I think.

20-round magazines and damage proportional to muzzle energy, based on 80 for a .44 magnum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tku8YI68-JA#t=455s
Like I said, no respect for tanks. ;)
Shemp 28 maja 2013 o 11:17
So does it have the same power as the gun it replaces oris it more powerful? does it use 20 round magazines?
bro 27 maja 2013 o 5:22
Oh yes, sorry. I meant a first person view of the HUD. This way I can actually see the scope and whatnot!
Sableagle  [autor] 26 maja 2013 o 8:43
It's a script, not a skin.
bro 26 maja 2013 o 6:29
Better picture, perhaps? I can't see the skin!
