What I *can't* do is stop weapon_rifle_desert from firing three-round bursts. "Thrown away and disappears when empty" is hard-coded into grenade launcher, M60 and chainsaw, "kills any common infected it hurts" is hard-coded into ammo_type_pistol_magnum and "fires 3-round bursts" is hard-coded into weapon_rifle_desert.

Having three weapons with the same model would get confusing, but you can replace the M16 with SCAR-L or SCAR-H to go with this mod:

I'd suggest the SCAR-L because the SCAR-H kicks too much so you have to use single shots (this game really needs fire selector switches).
You can also make the AK act like an AK74, which is almost the same as that SCAR-L:

I actually think it's a better choice except on Expert (where the 47 is a one-shot killer at short range and the other assault rifles including the 74 all take two hits) but I leave the 47 in my favourites to have more variety of available weapons.

Awesome thanks for responding back. Well damn. I just wanted to M16 to look like the SCAR and the SCAR to look like the M16. Don't know why Valve decided to make the SCAR a burst fire and the M16 fully automatic. Well thanks anyways ^.^

Nope. No reskin involved at all. It's a script mod that makes the "weapon_rifle_desert" that fires 3-rd bursts use the M16A2 in-game model and the M16A2's real-world magazine size and rate of fire and do the same sort of damage as the default Hunting Rifle because 5.56x45mm >> 9x19mm dammit, Valve!

It should be compatible with reskins, as long as they don't include custom icons.

(Custom icons tend to be accessed by tweaking the stylesheet and the stylesheet coordinates in the script and this is a script mod so they clash)

No. It'll work fine on its own. Because this uses the M16 model for the 'desert rifle,' though, if you don't get a mod for the 'assault rifle' that changes its model you'll have two things that both use the M16 model but which have very different behaviour. Either of my SCAR mods will use the SCAR-L model for the 'assault rifle' so that works, but if you find something that swaps in the SG552 instead, that'll work too.

That's pretty much what the description says.

This mod works by using whatever M16 model you have in use. The most obvious fix would be to get the SCAR-L or SCAR-H replacement for the M16 to go with this mod, so you have your G36 and a SCAR. Alternatively, you could use the high- or low-powered set that doesn't swap the models, but they're mods for most of the guns in the game, not just one at a time.

I got the G36C mod for the M16, but this mod takes that skin too and now I have two G36Cs. Is there any way you could make it so it's just an m16 skin for the Scar, as opposed to using the current m16 texture in the game? Sorry, I don't usually make requests, but that would be too cool.

To really get it right, they ought to take a lot more body parts into account. 5.56mm to the outer bicep does about as much damage as running the guy through with a knitting needle, but 5.56mm into the Jockey's shoulder en route its hip ought to blow its guts out. A few shots from this thing will make a royal mess of a Jockey.
