Not exactly what I had in mind but my idea was a bit simpler. Now that I think about it, you don't even need the hallway to the two sides of the "moat".
Aetoss  [author] May 17, 2013 @ 4:49pm
@wildgoosespeeder I completely agree with you about those antlines and they are now on the right. I'll give your map a try sometime. Thanks for the feedback!
wildgoosespeeder May 17, 2013 @ 10:34am
A very good test. My only suggestion is the antline that goes over the light bridge to disable that one fizzler, flip the fizzler around so that way the "source" of it is on the right instead of on the left. It's kind of hard to tell where that antline goes first time playing. What I mean by "source" is have you ever noticed how there is one end that is darker than the other ends of the fizzler when looking at it in the editor view? That is the "source" and that is where antlines run to, if it is connected to something. My suggestion will cause the antline to "draw" on the right instead of up and over to the left, making for cleaner antline placement.

I also never had to use the ceiling portal surface near the blue gel dropper because I cleverly used my portal gun with the walls instead in that same area. ;)

Try out my test maybe?

You're welcome. GLaD I could help.
Aetoss  [author] May 15, 2013 @ 7:01pm
@Andi I believe that issue is now fixed, thanks for the video playthrough.
Andi May 15, 2013 @ 4:25pm
This was my solution...

btw, sorry for not using spoilers.
Andi May 15, 2013 @ 2:44pm
I can post a video for you if you like.
Aetoss  [author] May 15, 2013 @ 11:32am
@Andi Sure, I'll give your map a try and let you know what I think. Also, would you mind describing to me how you'd solve it without pressing the fizzler button using spoilers ? Are you talking about the button you stand on or the button on the platform near the exit? Thanks for the feedback!

@big red foot I'm glad you had fun!
Andi May 15, 2013 @ 11:23am
Great chamber, took a little time to figure it out but eventually got there. I realized later that it is solvable without pressing the button that turns off some of the fizzlers. Still, had fun playing it. Thumbs up.

Would you mind trying one of mine?

@Ceejayy That's a very skillful puzzle-breaker! I fixed it now, thanks for the feedback.

@DeathWish808 Thanks for the video playthrough, it made me notice a couple of ways the map could be improved.

I don't think I skipped anything this time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98ZOxnFEDfo&feature=youtu.be

I managed to instantly catch the falling cube with the light bridge by putting it right beside the button that drops the cube, which meant it completely disregarded the whole rest of it. Never activated or used the gel or the button to disable the fizzlers.
If you stand at the button that drops the cube, stick the light bridge right beside you, you can hit the button, drop so that you are now standing on the existing light bridge, and shoot the light bridge under the cube before it hits the fizzler, then you can just walk along the light bridge directly to the cube, grab it and go straight to the door, making everything else obsolete.
Jade BGE May 14, 2013 @ 4:26pm
Okay that works for me. Nice work.
tuleby (CZ) May 14, 2013 @ 3:28pm
Nice idea ;)
Aetoss  [author] May 14, 2013 @ 2:22pm
@Jade BGE I fixed it so it's now (to my knowledge) impossible to get to the fizzler button platform with the light bridge. Hurray! Thanks!
Jade BGE May 14, 2013 @ 8:12am
Portal surface over the moat still allow me to jump from the bridge to the upper ledge.
Unserious Business May 13, 2013 @ 6:49pm
Design criticism: First impression was it's a bit too visually busy. I would recommend making it larger, so there are fewer things right next to each other and there's more room for borders between things, and more symmetrical (in the shapes and materials of walls, not in the puzzle design).

If this were my puzzle, based on how I solved-it-wrong, I would take out the blue gel entirely, and add some other puzzle element that is a second requirement to open the door or, better, a second obstacle to cross to reach it, that somehow interacts with the existing elements (but not too much to make it harder to figure out).

Miscellaneous: The lighting is a nice overall brightness, but is not particularly interesting; try varying it a bit more and making consistent patterns with the light strips. The cube should not be a companion cube.
Unserious Business May 13, 2013 @ 6:48pm
Solving: I didn't see how to get the blue gel because at first I neglected the light bridge . I found how the fizzlers under the dropper work, then I went looking for other things to do. I got to the fizzler-disabling button by standing in a portal on the high wall, then quickly placing two floor portals to move me over to that side, and then air-steering onto the ledge. (That was fun, by the way, and I recommend not making it impossible to do that; a lot of maps that have that mechanic are Super-Awesome-Skill-Required and not so much for me.)

I then immediately found how to keep the cube from falling into the water. I was puzzled for a while about how to make any further progress, before I noticed that the floor button disabled the fizzler at ground level. After that I also had to notice that I didn't need to keep standing on the button. And at that point I had the cube to open the exit door and I was done.

You're not a pill at all! :) Feedback helps me a lot. I tried using just the light bridge to get to the fizzler disabling button and I found a couple ways to do it. I removed the portal surfaces which I used, hopefully one of them is what you're talking about.
Jade BGE May 13, 2013 @ 2:56pm
I'm such a pill I know, but have you ever tried just using the light bridge to get up there? You can.
Aetoss  [author] May 13, 2013 @ 11:53am
@Jade BGE I fixed it, thanks for explaining it to me.
Jade BGE May 13, 2013 @ 11:31am
Go to the exit area, put portals on wall low and high and fling to upper level.
Aetoss  [author] May 13, 2013 @ 11:01am
What do you mean by "fling?" I'm not sure how you're still able to hit the fizzler-disabling button without using the bouncing gel.
Jade BGE May 13, 2013 @ 10:35am
Nope. fling to push button above. then go back and use cube button/bridge and stand on button to lower cube to exit level.
Aetoss  [author] May 13, 2013 @ 9:57am
@esmo Fixed! Thanks for the feedback!
esmo May 12, 2013 @ 11:15pm
put gel near/under light bridge, put light bridge under cube dropper, press cube p button, bounce to bridge to get cube, exit map cheers
Aetoss  [author] May 12, 2013 @ 10:56pm
@Jade BGE I believe I fixed that, thanks for letting me know!

@esmo Would you mind elaborating on that using spoiler tags?
esmo May 12, 2013 @ 9:53pm
used just gel and lightbridge to get cube for exit. cheers
Jade BGE May 12, 2013 @ 2:23pm
Nice. Didn't use blue gel. Had fun figuring it out. Thanks for your work.
