Daedalus' is a Quake ( 3 Arena ) like , indeed we find the same nervous and intuitive gameplay than an Unreal or a Doom , easy to play for zero blabla or time lost about the choice of weapons in menu !

So , this game is made for past your nerves of a bad day to kill bots or friends and destroy the environment , if you hate Cod or search an alternative game , just try it !

I have the latest as of June 26 daedalus-windows32-0.8.11demo. I'm using Windows 8.1 and I have a buddy also on 8.1 with the same problem I have. We'll watch for more players in the future :) Thanks

@Hollywood: Indeed there are currently not enough fans of the game to have constantly players connected on the demo servers. Don't hesitate to talk about the game to your friends to bring new players in ;)

For the launcher can you tell me what version of the game you downloaded ? There were some bugs in the first version of the beta demo, but the latest one ( 0.8.11 ) should be fine. Also what is your operating system ?
If you downloaded the game from the official website you should already have the latest version and the patcher should not even try to patch :)

The launcher fails to patch and all the servers I can see have 0 players. Am I missing something?

@ricardocasama: sorry but I don't plan to translate it. The game has no story or anything like this, so I don't think that english only is a real issue

Very fun game! I saw it on the Tigforums a while back and played it while it was in alpha and it was a blast! I can only imagine how fun it is now :O

@smithwilsuffice: for the iniertia you're actually the first one to complain :) I will try to tweak the physics settings of the player to see if I can enhance this.
Otherwise I already implemented a kill indicator ( kill messages like "you killed Elvis" or "Elvis killed you" :) ). I also implemented kill combos with big messages on screen. I will post a new video soon that will show all of this ;) Thanks for your feedback !

This is an awesome game. I keep playing, and playing, and there's only one map! If I had any complaints, its these: Characters have the inertia of dump trucks. Moving backwards, strafing and changing directions feel too sluggish. I'd love a hit and kill indicator like in many modern shooters. Indications that you're hitting/killing make it more fun! You all are doing an awesome job, keep it going!

I think this game really deserves to be greenlighted. I like the mix of CS & space elements and the way you have to react when targets apear in your flashlight area.

@mew: yes I'm already using raw mouse input. I also tried access inputs with another library which is also using raw mouse inputs ... but with the same result :(
Then I tried Quake 3, BulletStorm and UT3, I have the same issue with these three games. This plus the fact that I have the issue on only one mouse (another one is working perfectly) is telling me that I can't do much about this :(

Have you considered raw mouse input? Or is it already raw? That usually gets rid of most mouse issues.

@AntonioModer : thanks for the log. I also had a look at the openGL capabilities you sent me on twitter. The crash is coming from the driver ( ig4icd32.dll ) on a very basic draw operation. Also there is an extension that the game needs that is not supported by your card: EXT_packed_depth_stencil. So even without the crash, the game would not be able to run. So I'm sorry I can't do anything to support your graphics card.

@ZEEP:( : Glad you like it ! I'm not sure about what you mean by fast weapon switching ? You already can direct select weapons with key bindings. And with the mouse wheel you don't have to click to validate a weapon change.

@mew : thanks for the feedback ;) I discovered a bug in the mouse sensitivity handling that was responsible of the non effectiveness of low values ( basically below 50% was quite the same as 50% :) ). So this will be fixed for the next demo, and I also added more values below 20%.
For the negative acceleration I was only able to reproduce with REAAAALLY fast mouse movement and only with one mouse out of 3. The bug seems to be in the low level API I'm using for the inputs, I will try to see if the API can be fixed.

Tried the demo, the game played pretty nicely, but there are some issues with the mouse input. There seems to be negative acceleration with fast mouse moves, which made using a low sensitivity quite annoying. You also need to add more precision to the sensitivity value. 0, 5, 10 etc. is definitely not enough, it needs to be 0.000, 0.001, 0.002 and so forth.
