Pretty good map. It would have been better if it did not rely on ninja jumping in the first chamber. No brain envolved, only the mouse fingers.

didnt finish yet but weird glitch with the 3rd button u encounter with the 2 turrets next to it. if you have the tractor beam (blue) going into the dropper when u press the button, the ball explodes and the button stops working. i think u have to turn the button timer off so u can at least respawn another cube if this glitch occurs

Dr. Strangelove 13 mag 2013, ore 14:57
Fun test, although i couldn't find out what the blue gel, and the higher askew panel were for. But maybe it was your goal to make a map that has several ways to solve? Had fun in any case :)

With more complex maps it becomes harder to force players to take a certain path. I think I've removed all alternatives and shortcuts from my STR1KE [Strangelove Test 01] . You are challenged to find any shortcuts there. Go on and try it :P
derlbear 13 mag 2013, ore 11:20
I like this map because there are many ways to solve it. You don't need to enter the second room. You don't need the lower laser input. You don't need the blue thingy...
Rufus 11 mag 2013, ore 18:33
Blind playthrough , infact 2 blind play through as I did it 2 different ways bypassing different things each time, I think there are more ways too.

Nice puzzle! Very fun. Thumbs up!
I recorded my gameplay (valve DEM file format): Download [dl.dropboxusercontent.com] Comments inside video.

Turrets highly explosive. Handle with care

Nice chamber, but in the first room with the low laser catcher that lowers the panel, I din't use that.
Anyone want to try a chamber I've been working on for a while: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=143690550
Guerriero92 11 mag 2013, ore 5:12
pretty nice chamber but kinda broken i didnt have to use the second room, the angled pannels and the funnel to get it. But as you said i the description its for fun so np here and thumps up

Enjoyed it, great work!

For those portal players looking for a Hard map, feel free to check out mine: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=144333529

Been working on it alot!
Bayram 10 mag 2013, ore 10:44
Rather easy, but quick to play so OK, thumbs up.

Is anyone looking for a much more challenging chamber? If so, please try my "The Oubliette":
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=140319013 . It has an escape theme, and although started in PuzzleMaker it has Hammer improvements in the dungeon. Please don't vote thumbs down just because you can't complete it: I'm warning you that there are traps (escape theme, OK) and you need to think quickly.

Nice! I think it Should be called: Not A Normal Test (N.A.N.T)
OskarA 9 mag 2013, ore 11:08
ok im a noob how do u after play the maps ?
ImRedi 9 mag 2013, ore 6:28
I did the entire chamber with just the first room and without the angled panels. imo there is too much freedom with the walls being so portalable

S.Spiff 8 mag 2013, ore 19:14
I didn't need either of the angled panels to solve this. The excursion funnel was enough. Not a bad puzzle, but could be tightened up a bit.
Buckfuts 8 mag 2013, ore 15:44
I guess I should add that, I too, didn"t find any use for the lower angled panel.
Buckfuts 8 mag 2013, ore 12:51
OK! I'm no real critic of puzzles, but I"m addicted to this game and any puzzle I can walk away from makes me stronger!
I liked this puzzle and it seems that most of the "exploits" were more difficult/time consuming than solving it the intended way. I can't consider it "broken". If you like making it more complicated than it is, more power to you. But "broken" kind of connotes that it makes it easier than the intended solution. It seems to me that multiple solutions actually make it more interesting and helps with replayability.
Phrendon 8 mag 2013, ore 12:15
Getting stuck in the timed doors is a real drag. Otherwise, had as much fun as a potato can lawfully have in the state of Ohio.
? 8 mag 2013, ore 10:37
This puzzle needs work as there are plenty of exploits. It's broken. I was able to solve most of the puzzle just by using the funnel to gain height. The room with the paint and the sphere was largely unnecessary. I didn't need the angeled panels I activated the cube button before the glass panel opened so I didn't need the regular cube.

Anyone who wants me to playtest their chambers, add me as a friend.
Mr Fraggle (UK) 8 mag 2013, ore 1:51
Cube did not drop in the turret room so endeth the map. Up to that point it was fun.
toncica 7 mag 2013, ore 15:30
I've recorded a session of playing through some of the maps from the workshop front page. Yours was among them (skip to 5:00): http://youtu.be/UxHlXm6ZnOc
WubTheCaptain 6 mag 2013, ore 16:45
Companion cubes are also supposed to be carried with you at all times.
WubTheCaptain 6 mag 2013, ore 16:45
Also, there are multiple ways to trick the chamber, such as using portals to get behind the piston door that the laser would normally open. Quite many flaws.
WubTheCaptain 6 mag 2013, ore 16:33
You can get stuck in the piston doors.
Moysey89 6 mag 2013, ore 12:20
great test, had fun! you should try out my test series, i think you will enjoy :D
Jebediah Clang 6 mag 2013, ore 9:08
iCheat: Only used the laser with the glass and normal cube.
wildgoosespeeder 5 mag 2013, ore 17:08
Easily breakable!

Didn't need:
-Laser-activated angled glass panel
-The various angled panels for flinging
-The entire room to enable the funnel

The portalable surface on the wall where the entrance is attached to makes it possible to perform all sorts of high-speed fling maneuvers.
Andi 5 mag 2013, ore 16:40
Straight forward and simple to follow. Well put together and well thought out. Thumbs up.

Would you mind trying one of mine.

An Orange Box 5 mag 2013, ore 16:33
I solved it without going into the gel room. Just put the companion cube on the box receptacle, then fling yourself up to the exit, then use portals to aim the laser.
Singh 5 mag 2013, ore 16:19
Overall I enjoyed it - nice job. Could use some improvements in layout. There's no real reason to put the entrance in the first room since you have to backtrack to the 2nd in order to unlock the first. Kind of an awkward start. It might be better to move the entrance to the other room. Also, I never used the angled panel - it's not needed.

Gotta wonder: what's the high angled panel in the turret chamber for? I could not figure that out and ended up not using it...
