He's using a dualwield combat style, it's from another mod, but he just won't use his other sword.

It depends on if he is using a custom combat style or not. You can try and see how it goes.

Does this mod work for Vath Firehall as well?

Longbow remover for Lydia, Follower trap saftey, Lydia out please and Better stealth AI for followers. I'm wondering if it isn't the fact that I rarely use the vanilla weapons. I pretty much build all the weapons I use in Max and update Bob's Armory with them for others to use.

Can you tell me what mods are you using that affects followers?
Rokalm  [author] Nov 28, 2013 @ 2:47pm
Then you can also check yourself that vanilla skyrim doesn't have dual wield on followers as default and only a few select followers can do it. My Skyrim is the last version and I see they don't. My mod is not the only mod which offers dual wielding as well, so I don't know. You must be running a hidden version of Skyrim.

I can even show you screenshots or videos to prove this, but what's the point really.

Nah, the only thing I have that alters followers regarding equipment is a remover for bows so I don't have to worry about the use of a default longbow over a customized bow. The behavior mods are relegated to making all followers having Light Step and not running off to fight while sneaking. I go through every mod I want to install thoroughly before even testing them. This includes checking what has been edited in the CK, along with correcting erroneous meshes and texture sizes/file formats.

I said I checked the game files as well after that. If you have creation kit, only load skyrim vanilla files and check combat styles.

Scroll down and see there is a flag called "Allow Dual Wielding". You must alter that value to make a follower dual wield. In vanilla skyrim, only a very few followers have that checked. Doesn't it sound absurd to you that I would make a mod for something that exists? You are running a mod which enables followers to dual wield and you are not aware of it, my guess is it is bundled with some other mod.

Wiki also said that Bob Marley's middle name was Bob. Never rely on anything from Wiki. There are no mandatory IQ tests to write for those things, and frequently the information is wrong. I have no dual wielding mods, and I give followers an assortment consisting of 2-4 one hand weapons, a two hand weapon, bow and a shield of some type. They will switch around depending on the conflict. Granted, they don't always do this intuitively, but they definitely do use both one handed weapons.

"Followers can dual-wield, but only if a Forsworn Sword, Forsworn Axe, or a Pickaxe (the Housecarl of Falkreath, Rayya, can dual wield scimitars) is wielded along with another melee weapon, and only if they do not have a shield or other weapon in their inventory. They will also dual-wield magic staffs, regardless of whatever else is in their inventory." From Skyrim wiki. I checked the game files as well and most of the followers have "No Dual Wield" flag, which you must uncheck with a mod.

That's odd. I've run with just about every follower the game has to offer at one time or another, and every one of them I've given multiple one handed weapons have dual wielded them. Due to the draugr who like to shout disarm everything in sight, I've made it a habit of giving the followers additional weapons. This way I don't have to worry about searching for the ones they just had blown out of their hands lol. I don't ever recall any of then only using one, unless they had lost the others.

Only a very few can dual wield in an unmodded version of Skyrim.
Mr. Dave Nov 26, 2013 @ 3:06pm
PIXEL cawk, most likely because the game already allows followers to dual wield without the need of a mod.
Reamus Aug 14, 2013 @ 11:41am
Wow, thank you so much for making this! It always bugged me that they never dual-wielded; now I am happy. :)

This mod does not alter follower dialogues, scripts and quests. It should work, remember to load UFO last.
YellowWolley Apr 30, 2013 @ 7:09pm
Does this work with UFO?
