The model is in the description. I did not make the model.
BLÀde May 19 @ 3:03am
would you mind sharing the 3d model of this so i can turn it into a mirror for the sims 4?
Asgards Finest Jan 13 @ 2:25pm
I was hoping I could learn the enchantment so that I could put it on my ebony shield ;-;
cwg | Jdthepwned Dec 4, 2014 @ 5:43pm
when i was looking at my personal walkthrough map....i was at the right place, but looking around in the wrong areas XD as the map did have the area names like the Pale but excellant mage shield, no need to waste on warding spells
JKalenad  [author] Jun 14, 2014 @ 1:56pm
The second video up in the images bar helps explain exactly where it is in the lake.
Fatal Precision Jun 14, 2014 @ 1:18pm
I can't find it. There is only one lake in the pale. Do i have to go into the cave or what? I'm trying to make a complete Zelda set and this and a few other weapons are only missing from it.

well thanks for the help, you are a gentleman and a scholar. much appreciated
JKalenad  [author] Feb 10, 2014 @ 8:25pm
By "perfected" I mean I fixed the enchantment unique to this shield. It's not at all better than J3X's work. I did look at Elaborate Enchantments for hints, though, but built it mostly from scratch. The "perfecting" comes from removing a bit of lag with the one I built. I did not improve on J3X's work; I took a slightly different path with it.
The main differerence is that the Elaborate Enchantments version keeps the ward up the whole time like Spellbreaker, whereas mine is mostly invisible. That, and as far as I know J3X's Mirror enchantment can actually be broken off and applied to other shields, which was never and intention with my Mirror Shields.
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 8:19pm
ahhh see its funny you posted that cuz i just downloaded it. now, the only thing i dont get is whats the difference between the two? in the last couple updates on your mod here it sounds to me like youve perfected it, and i havent tried out the other mod. would you know the dif?
JKalenad  [author] Feb 10, 2014 @ 8:17pm
There is none. I recall mentioning that applying the enchantment breaks it, so learning it through the console would not help.
If all else fails, there is a mirror enchantment in this mod:
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 8:15pm
or teaching yourself the specific enchantment through console command?
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 8:14pm
is there no way of just having the shield be learnable at the enchantment table?
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 8:05pm
lol no srsly tho, i looked all up in the creation kit website and it mentions no single thing about managing meshes or bsa file. bullshitass files more like it
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 8:04pm
good call man, u just dodged a total bullet. i was actually going to real-time rape you, so its your lucky day.
JKalenad  [author] Feb 10, 2014 @ 7:59pm
It's nothing personal, but I'm extraordinarily uncomfortable with real-time chat. Plus, I've helped you all I can at this point.
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 7:56pm
is there any way i can personally message you?
JKalenad  [author] Feb 10, 2014 @ 7:49pm
If you haven't checked it already, the Creation Kit website is a treasure-trove of tutorials and info, too:
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 7:47pm
thanks a tonne, ill scope that shit out
JKalenad  [author] Feb 10, 2014 @ 7:44pm
Uh oh...the mesh is the model. The shield itself, basically. The file type is always .nif.
You shouldn't have to make a .bsa; it should already exist if the other mod uses one instead of loose files. You can use the program BSAOpt or even TESArchive to open up a .bsa and export the .nif that corresponds to the shield you're using.
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 7:30pm
wow, sorry to ask of so much help, but what the fuck is a mesh and where do i find the bsa file? i googled it, and as far as i can tell, i have to create the bsa file?
JKalenad  [author] Feb 10, 2014 @ 6:52pm
The invisible object and big red excalamtion point mean that the mesh is missing. You may have to extract the mesh from the .bsa file or make Creation Kit look at the right mesh if it's not already doing so.
jaden_ramalho Feb 10, 2014 @ 6:28pm
hey, so i didnt have any luck with installing the enchantment onto the shielf i wanted, i got it to show up in game but when i picked up the shield it was invisible on my character. i checked it out in the creation kit, and the image was a big red square with a lighter red exclamation mark in it... any ideas? ive tried everything
jaden_ramalho Feb 2, 2014 @ 7:29pm
wow, thanks so much. and yeah i know the difference between taking it for my own and uploading it for others, thanks again though man!
JKalenad  [author] Feb 2, 2014 @ 4:22pm
Oh, and just so you know, these are the steps you'll need to follow:
1. Open Creation Kit
2. Select the Mirror Shield as an Active File.
3. Select the other mod as an Active File (this will make the other mod active, but keep the Mirror Shield loaded)
4. Go to the Magic Effects section and duplicate the Mirror magic effect.
5. Go to the Enchantment section and duplicate the Mirror enchantment.
6. Edit the duplicated Mirror enchantment so it looks at the duplicated magic effect.
7. If you want the new mirror shield to be unique, you'll have to duplicate one of the shields to prevent all of that kind from having the enchantment. I'm not sure how the other mod is, though, so this step may be optional.
8. Edit the shield you want to have the enchantment and select the duplicated enchantment from the dropdown menu.
9. Save the .esp file.
That should do it. It's...tedious, but fairly simple.
JKalenad  [author] Feb 2, 2014 @ 3:15pm
Yeah, just don't upload the modified version anywhere.
jaden_ramalho Feb 2, 2014 @ 3:14pm
can i apply it to someone else mod?
JKalenad  [author] Feb 1, 2014 @ 6:33pm
Yeah, if you used the Creation Kit to give, say, an Ebony Shield the same enchantment as the Mirror Shield, the Ebony one would function exactly the same.

It would be a little bit tricky, but not as hard as most Creation Kit things. Mostly just copying and pasting and selecting the Mirror enchantment from dropdown menus.
jaden_ramalho Feb 1, 2014 @ 4:58pm
applying it WITHOUT going to the enchantment table in-game i mean. if i put the enchantment on a separate shield IN creation kit
jaden_ramalho Feb 1, 2014 @ 4:56pm
ahhh, i see. so would "activating" your mods .esp file in creation kit and my other shields .esp file simultaneously help me manually equip the enchantment to the shield? im rather new to the whole process, but i think i could figure it out. i just want to know, is it DOABLE? i mean, applying that enchantment to a different shield/texture or w/e.
JKalenad  [author] Feb 1, 2014 @ 7:47am
I actually tested making the enchantment learnable, but I'm afraid it's not possible for this. The enchantment stops working when applied through the enchantment system, but works fine if applied through Creation Kit. That's not going to happen.
jaden_ramalho Feb 1, 2014 @ 4:00am
hello friend, love the work you put into this! i dont understand why they didnt make the spellbreaker shield reflect the spells in the first place! i was wondering if there's any way to take this reflective enchantment and apply it to another modders content?i have a neato shield that compliments my armour, but no enchantments will do for it but this one. it puts all else to shame. is there ANY way that you could upload just the enchantment/or make the shield itself "learnable"? by the way it sounds in the description, you custom tweaked the enchantment to work with just this mod and its content. please help?
tekgeekster Jan 23, 2014 @ 7:11pm
Ah... guess I should have read the description.
JKalenad  [author] Jan 23, 2014 @ 2:53pm
Yes, that is the reason. Both add a findable shield.
tekgeekster Jan 23, 2014 @ 12:43pm
pardon me for asking but, would you mind telling me why I found two mirror shields in the same area? Perhaps due to the fact that I also have the smithing version installed?
JKalenad  [author] Jan 17, 2014 @ 5:28pm
Which is why I don't want to make it overshadow another artifact. One is too many.
One Hell of a Butler Jan 17, 2014 @ 5:18pm
but it already makes spellbreaker obsolete
JKalenad  [author] Jan 17, 2014 @ 3:14pm
But it would render Auriel's Shield obsolete, so I'm not going to do it.
One Hell of a Butler Jan 17, 2014 @ 7:18am
auriels shield effect added to current one would be better, like it would block concentration, and absorbe charge, if that makes sence.
Kilgorep1997 Jan 3, 2014 @ 9:41pm
lol i found it right after i asked but anyway great mod im loving the shield :)
JKalenad  [author] Jan 3, 2014 @ 7:49pm
It's in the lake, rather close to a cave.
If you want an exact location, look at the second video up in the images bar.
Kilgorep1997 Jan 3, 2014 @ 7:05pm
is it in or out of the lake?
M5X6 Dec 4, 2013 @ 4:10pm
on the map I was using it wasn't then. sorry bout that
JKalenad  [author] Dec 4, 2013 @ 3:44pm
I'm looking at the official Skyrim map right now, and The Pale extends from Dawnstar down to Lake Yorgrim west of Windhelm, and even down to the White River near Whiterun. The Pale is shaped like a boot, after all, and the shield is definitely in it.
M5X6 Dec 4, 2013 @ 3:01pm
nice mod but not near to the pale

daedric273 Oct 2, 2013 @ 12:02am
cool i just found another shield mod for my charge skill and use your shield for spells and those nasty myth dragons from a dragon mod that kill you in 1 hit with breath or bite XD works great though i dont have to pop asmany potions with your shield as i block =D
JKalenad  [author] Oct 1, 2013 @ 1:23pm
Short version: I cannot fix either issue. The Shield is rather finicky.

Long version:
The shield charge issue I was unaware of, but I currently have no fix for it, other than using a shield for melee combat and this one for facing mages.
As for the ward not turning on, sometimes it does not flash to indicate that it's on, but is still activated.
More importantly, the ward effect is partially script-based, so there is a delay between blocking and the ward enabling. So, reflecting an incoming fireball takes some careful timing, as raising the shield at the last moment will not work. It is best to block as soon as the spell is released, to give the ward time to cast. The Shield is very defensive in that respect.

I will, however, look into the charge issue. However, it will take some time, and I cannot promise I'll be able to solve it.

Great shield awesome mod big fan of zelda but im haven probs with the shield i cant do my shield charge if the barrier is up on the shield and sometimes it wont even turn on which allow me to shield charge then but makes combat glitchy when i try to charge i cant when i want to block magic i cant
