The game is going pretty good! Developers are getting more and more active since there came some new in. Events are running on some servers and Epic boss raids. Also mob spawning just for fun or messing with game models when they are around. Halloween event was cool tho :)

Absolutely fantastic game! I've made a lot of great friends on here and most of the community is friendly. Definetly reccomend playing this game. (Also, Aeritha from order here to all that do play!)

Have been looking for a new MMO to play for about 2 weeks now and I popped into one game - chatted with a player - talked about preferred crafting systems and Istaria got mentioned. Now - I have played Horizons but did not make the association when I first heard Istaria.

What I remember about Horizons was.... LOVED the crafting --> Combat and many other things literally gave me headaches. I think I played for 4 to 6 months just because of the crafting but just could not accept the rest of the game as it was.

Been researching it for past (almost) 3 hours now and have decided that if/when it makes it to Steam - I will give it another go. Preferrably on its new engine but if not... is ok. Any new information on when Steam/Engine updates are to occur ?? Not seen any current information on either, in all the netsearching I did.

From what I've read they're still working on it, the main problem is getting it to work with Steam in a nice way. that and they've got an engine move planned (from Alchemy to Unreal), which will be a hell of a task.

This game has been Greenlit for quite awhile. Any word on when it will be available on Steam?
InsaneChaosRealm™ 7 Oca @ 11:48am
No, dont make it a free game however, make it a one time buy with microtransactions. that would be better as most f2p games struggle a bit.

Just give me the dragon and i'll be happy! :D

I hope they will make it subscription free
Whistlingwind 4 Kas 2015 @ 12:09am
I've returned to the game and am currently loving it! The community and richness of the game is what I crave for, the game could do with some revamps here and there but the core is genius.
Bazil Grimstride 27 Eki 2015 @ 12:24pm
Oh and if things go well they will revamp the game and or make an istaria 2 and ir maybe make the game have better grapics ohhhh cant wait to hear what there going to do!
Bazil Grimstride 27 Eki 2015 @ 12:22pm
+Bossdragon its only 9$ a month there not asking you to play as a dragon for 15 dallors a month also no power creep no pay to win. What more do you want? Theres no inflation like wow oe everquest has this games fun i love it to this day im a five year vet :D
redwizard 12 Eki 2015 @ 4:54pm
It was probabably Velea she notriously done questionable things and is rude to people. IM sorry that had to happen to you the game is fun but much drama and its sorta like high school sometimes. Velea i heard has banned people for no reason and i dont think they can figure out who i am thru here so i will post this.
BossDragon 2 Eyl 2015 @ 2:05am
Will month based subscription plans remain? Or will the game be a one-time pay purchase to fit with the Steam Store's format?
n13green 31 Tem 2015 @ 9:21pm
I appreciate the apology and I'll take it as sincere. Thank you.

Can't imagine what you mean by the administrator's perspective though. She was blatantly dishonest. I asked this question and then tried to follow up asking if I could submit a ticket to get it fixed. But she deleted it, saying I was re-asking the same question, which I wasn't, and that it was "working as intended" which a developer later admitted it definitely wasn't on this plot. And she told not to post about it again.

http://community.istaria.com/forum/showthread.php?26951-Guild-Master-Plots

When I asked her who her supervisor was so I could make a complaint, she told me if I wanted to complain about her it had to be her. That still makes me giggle. Even funnier, the owner agreed with her.

It would be nice to think the forums have improved and if only for the sake of players I do hope that's true.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience on the forums n13green. The forum administrators are trying to be a bit less zealous in how they handle the forums. There's the angle of the forum administrators perspective, but at the end of the day, we didn't do a good job hearing your voice. From all of the development team, sorry we let you down.
Aekaitz 26 Tem 2015 @ 8:05pm
Been playing this game for almost 3 years straight now and I can't help but love it. I see many complaints about the subscription fee, which I understand. But I fell in love with the game at a time when I had no job and no money influx except for the stray holiday/event/birthday and still managed to pay for it because I loved playing it. The community is absolutely fantastic, helpful, kind, and lots of fun. The dev team has been working harder than ever to make this wonderful old game better and I'm happy to see it! All in all, this game is DEFINITELY worth the try for the gameplay, the community, and the intricate crafting system that is hard to find anywhere else. Don't knock it till you try it, it really is a great game!
n13green 22 Tem 2015 @ 4:15pm
Loved the game. Community is generally very good. But the staff can be rude to the point of bullying. I had a thread locked just for asking a perfectly innocent question about plots and something odd on one of mine. Then another - just asking if I could get the odd thing fixed via a ticket - was instantly deleted and I was told it was working as intended. Not that it actually was. They later admitted it was seriously bugged. Not that that mattered. Funny way to treat paying customers (at that time I had multiple subs just for plots) and a good way to lose them. So if you do try it, just don't go anywhere near their forums.

I want joint Istaria really, but i want to play just for be a dragon and it not a free race. The unic free race is the human and that why i dont play because i know full of game where i can play as a human better of this game! I can pay for got this race for ever one time but not in monthly... I just they gonna get more member if they sell the game on Steam. Because me its the only reason why i dont play Istaria!
Lunaria Song (Moonpetal) 25 Haz 2015 @ 9:18pm
I just realized how much some of the characters look like they are from Oblivion... ._.
InsaneChaosRealm™ 17 Haz 2015 @ 2:28pm
If this becomes a "buy once, keep forever" kinda game its a definate buy from me.
Virtrium  [yaratıcı] 8 Haz 2015 @ 11:44am
The developers are working towards improving the graphics and overall quality. As part of the technical work happening right now, the devs will be releasing small texture packs over the summer and fall to provide improvements to character armor, weapons and equipment. Please see the Developer's Desk Summer 2015 for more information.
MissJinxie 6 Haz 2015 @ 5:53pm
how about a graphics update.... just saying... been playing the game for years now and it's been the same....
Sane The Sinner 6 Haz 2015 @ 11:31am
will istaria be free?
Sleepy Chipmunk 5 Haz 2015 @ 7:28pm
Oh wow, nostalgia. This is one of the few MMO's I've come back to more than once. In fact, there's been like...eh, 3 times I've came back? It'll be really cool if this comes out on Steam.

The developers are still discussing how to integrate Istaria best with Steam (and that includes pricing)
Dragon Protector 4 Haz 2015 @ 1:25pm
wish it was already out on steam
InsaneChaosRealm™ 3 Haz 2015 @ 10:42am
I know the humans are free to play but to me the humans aren't interesting at all.
I would like to know if you put this on steam, will you make this pay once for all races or completely the "pay every month" kind of game.
Virtrium  [yaratıcı] 3 Haz 2015 @ 10:06am
Istaria has never been a pay to win game. It's very important to the developers that Istaria have merit play, instead of buying items or double XP to advance. -Today- there's Free to Play humans. There's no restrictions on schools, levelling, access to areas of the world or quests - truly free to play. The developers are still discussing what additions can be made to Istaria to better fit into the Steam "world", but pay to win is not one of them. You can read the most recent Developer's Desk (see the Announcements tab) for where development is headed for the remainder of the year.
InsaneChaosRealm™ 2 Haz 2015 @ 1:12pm
So, when will this come on steam? Will it become a buy once game? Still pay to win? I doubt f2p
daulnay 22 May 2015 @ 8:20am
The bipeds interest and challenge me much more than dragons. This is the only MMO game I've returned to more than twice. Multiclassing gives biped players flexibility, and meaningful choices (fortunately reversible). You can make choices that will put your character in a frustratingly gimped state. There are several paths out -- again, good choices to make, there isn't a single best way. This is the essence of a good game (versus a theme park ride MMO).

Wesleypipes77 19 May 2015 @ 3:27pm
Thanks for the info guys, good to know.
Alisto 19 May 2015 @ 2:32pm
Wesley - dragon and biped gameplay is vastly different. You see very little biped stuff because bipeds have extensive multiclassing, which means much more time to get them 'up and running' than it does a dragon. That also means it's difficult to make a youtube video that gives information people watching would want in a short amount of time. Bipeds have somewhere around 28 adventure classes(schools) to choose from, whereas dragons only have one.

Furthermore, it really is different in-game. Looking at who is online right now - Order Shard - it's about an even split between bipeds and dragons playing.
Virtrium  [yaratıcı] 19 May 2015 @ 1:19pm
While dragons are popular, there's quite a few other races around. Each race has an area of the world with architecture and content focused on their "style". Istaria is free to try for any race, and free to play as a human. It's a reasonable download, fast set-up and you don't need to enter a credit card or any other details to try it out.
Wesleypipes77 18 May 2015 @ 8:44am
Ok, one important question for me. I've been considering checking this game out, it looks like a good old school MMORPG. However searching through youtube videos etc.. trying to get an idea what the game is like. I get the impression that even though there are many different races to choose from, everybody and their f#*king dog is playing a dragon!! Is it actually this bad in the game or is there more variety to the races people play, because if 99% of the game population is just a bunch of dragons, that's enough to turn me off personally.
Sane The Sinner 9 May 2015 @ 5:32am
Yay istaria on steam!
Fminesta 13 Nis 2015 @ 3:10am
when this game gonna released in steam
Virtrium  [yaratıcı] 13 Mar 2015 @ 5:44pm
The developers have been hard at work putting together an update package since the release of City Under Siege. All the updates are just about ready, and that's when the team will sit down and sort out their schedule for the rest of the year.
Cokai 13 Mar 2015 @ 5:33pm
Please Developers give us a comment, any information somehow about the status of the game.
Machaeon 6 Şub 2015 @ 8:33am
You see, the thing about dragons is: at max level they are MUCH weaker than a decently leveled non-dragon. So by paying absolutely nothing and playing as a human, you have the capability of utterly thrashing the best dragon players out there. Also the main benefit of being a dragon is: you can fly. That's it. There are biped schools out there that give comparable damage to a dragon's most powerful attack. Dragons have ONE adventure school and THREE craft schools whereas non-dragons have TWENTY EIGHT adventure schools and NINETEEN craft schools - you actually lose out on flexibility as a dragon... so no loss as playing as a free human. All other races are aesthetic.
Lord Murdock 7 Ara 2014 @ 11:02am
@Samuel Shank, the game doesn't have DLC, nor will probably ever have DLC. It's been running for years and doing pretty good without DLC.
Sir Gunnerlot 3 Ara 2014 @ 8:34am
its finally greenlit, Will there be premium steam DLC For that avalible
