With the massive variety of completely different upgrades for the towers, this is still one of my favorite TDG. It's a shame this isn't green lit yet.
Captain oddsoul Jun 21, 2014 @ 4:00am
Looks good :)

I bought the alpha on desura & this is more worthy of being on steam than alot of games on steam. I'm here to support that fact.
Sdoots May 16, 2013 @ 3:23pm
You're doing just enough new stuff with this that I'd pick it up for a reasonable price. You need to bring that research to the forefront of your trailer that plays when this page opens, though. Showing straight tower defense is alright, but I'd bring in the research aspect sooner rather than later.
MrNinjaSquirrel May 3, 2013 @ 2:54pm
Really not interested in any more tower defense games, as I don't see much that sets this apart from all the others:(
Catscratch Apr 21, 2013 @ 9:50am
For STEAM, no, but try it on Newgrounds, as @joshparr said.

Hey Christ, thanks a bunch for trying it out. I appreciate it.
PoopScoopMaloop Apr 5, 2013 @ 9:37pm
No Kitty, i would say that your best bet would probably be to go through to get your start. newgrounds is owned and operated by Tom Fulp, the man behind Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers, his site is very well known in the community for its humorous games, art, and videos. Alien Hominid actually started as a flashgame on newgrounds as did several other titles like N+. in short, it is the perfect place to get revenue, keep the content free, and recieve constant feedback to help with future projects. who knows? you could get published on consoles one day. thanks for your patience

I've never down voted a game just because I would not purchase the game.

And though I have never played a tower defense game, and so would not be able to make a judgment upon how your Weapon Test Dummies could possible differ from the multitude that crowds this genre.

I'm downloading the Demo, and while the "Dodo" tower defense is the only one I've up voted (for its hilarity alone), this might be another.

I played all three levels once and was marked for 100%, and while I still would rather go outside and shovel snow than play a tower defense game, I only dozed off once.

I'll never know how you get through testing and debugging these games without shooting yourself in the face. But on its own merit, it would seem to be a decent alpha and a well thought out game. Perhaps it even has depth.

Steam for YOU!!!!

Thanks for the feedback Josh. The game still has a long ways to go, I agree, posting early allows others to provide constructive feedback, and I'm always open to any suggestions.
PoopScoopMaloop Apr 5, 2013 @ 2:26pm
while i do like what i see, i cannot give this an upvote because you could easily upload this game to several flashgame sites and gain revenue from ads while keeping the game free to play. this is why you get so much hate. TDs are great. unless you are making HD complex ones that really do something completely new, they are only good for flashgame sites and smartphones
ThoseGrapefruits Apr 5, 2013 @ 8:42am
Hey, I don't know why everyone is hating on this. I love tower defense, and I like the classic styles and it looks fun all-around. Keep up the good work!
Rotten Jamppa Apr 5, 2013 @ 1:16am
Nice soundtrack.. ehh... thats all! Sad game makes me sad.
Celebrimnar Apr 4, 2013 @ 12:13am
I cannot find anything different here, even the thing you mention are the same as most TD
N1tr0 Apr 3, 2013 @ 10:23pm
Who need TD games, when we have Kingdom Rush?
Resolute Apr 3, 2013 @ 5:25pm
Death to Tower Defense games.
Mogg Apr 3, 2013 @ 8:25am
Another tower defense. Too many already. Congrats on making a game. unfortunately it's a game that's been done beyond death.
Spagett Apr 2, 2013 @ 5:22pm
Tower defense. Is. Dumb. How long is it going to take for people to realize it? This game isn't even trying to be interesting in any way. It's a simple game of "see those guys? Set up the towers in reasonable positions and then sit still for 5 minutes."

Downvoted because all four items in "How is Weapon Test Dummies different than other Tower Defense games?" list all the ways in which it is EXACTLY THE SAME.
Blaster Apr 2, 2013 @ 2:23pm
a game that can be used to fill some time
Domork Apr 2, 2013 @ 10:42am
It`s VERY INTERSTING to play tower defence like your game :3
bitterjuice Apr 2, 2013 @ 10:07am
Well...It certainly looks nice...

ничё игра нормальная
sslrranma Apr 1, 2013 @ 5:18pm
had to downvote this. I've seen better looking TDs for free elsewhere. I Dont think this is worth spending money on. Plus there are already plenty of TD games elewhere. What does ths have to offer that others dont?
Suicidal Thots Apr 1, 2013 @ 1:52pm
Looks fun, but it would need some real innovation to be worth buying.
☆NINJA☆ Apr 1, 2013 @ 11:12am
looks like a good game although i would recomend more sprites for the dummies such as turning, walking, frozen on fire e.t.c. e.t.c.
rumath Apr 1, 2013 @ 8:49am
I enjoy TD's. :)

Hi Culinary, I appreciate the questions. Early access is currently available on Desura, and could be possible through steam, but that depends on how long it takes to finally get greenlit. As far as release goes, this is very hard to estimate, it would depend on if the game received enough support for me to work on it full time. Currently I can only work on the game in between work and classes. It is not close to being considered complete or even beta. There are some major gameplay mechanics that I still wish to add, and are detailed in the description.

WTD is the game I wish existed when playing other tower defenses. I want high paced, mass destruction (killing hundreds of guys at once), and rewarding gameplay. But also have good replayability and out of the combat meta game, where you are managing the weapon test dummies research centers and company money, and you choose how to improve the company.
Tapewormz Mar 31, 2013 @ 5:01pm
Just what the world needed...another cookie cutter tower defense. :P
culinarykid92 Mar 31, 2013 @ 4:09pm
I get that this is alpha so a few questions. First, if you get Greenlit, will you be doing the early access sort of thing that has come to Steam recently or just a full game release? Second, when do you plan to release the game? Third, how does this differ from other tower defense games? And finally, can you release a video at some point where you walk us through the basics of the game, including a feature or two that separate it from the current genre of tower defense? Reason I ask fora walkthrough video is because the trailer is not very informative as to gameplay.
I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS  [author] Mar 31, 2013 @ 10:26am
Hi Luelido, thanks for the feedback! There is a map editor currently that I use to make the levels, and I will be releasing it eventually to go with the game. You can see the screenshots for it currently if you look at the last two images for the game. I made it myself and it looks like the starcraft or warcraft map editors.
Luelido Mar 31, 2013 @ 10:20am
Like the look of it. just an idea i dont know if you have it in but what about a make your own level sort of thing?
Tustak Mar 30, 2013 @ 6:55pm

leo Mar 30, 2013 @ 1:56pm
I saw people sayin this was made in flash, was it?
I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS  [author] Mar 30, 2013 @ 9:36am
Sorry some of the screenshots got scrunched a bit when I first uploaded them. The video is from December and the graphics have been improved a lot since then, so I am working on getting a new video up too.
Alabama boy yeeeehaawwww Mar 30, 2013 @ 7:29am
